Very peaceful. Staff are always willing to help. Engaged in the community, and completely inclusive. Everyone is welcome!
Solid staff, able to suggest new authors if coming in for fiction or nonfiction reading; excellent ladies in the genealogy department in the basement - never flinched when I brought my obscure, non-genealogically-related questions, and found several relevant and helpful tomes for me, with a smile. I do wish there were more books by the authors Id like to try out, but recognize that this would be a space issue; they are more than happy to find and request materials through alternate libraries, as well. My kids enjoy coming for graphic novels, books, and movies.
Went to library for a meeting with a Senator staff member. Meeting room was nice. Location of mtg readily provided by library personnel
Clean, quiet, lots of options other than just books! Friendly and helpful staff
The staff members are always helpful. Everything is organized and clean. I love the library.
Nice place to go use computers and print. Have some new movies too
They were very helpful
The downtown library is not the quietest downstairs, but if you head upstairs you can find a nice quiet spot.
Clean and safe
Had to get copy OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE AT HOWARD COUNTY RECORDS OFFICE FOR NEW LICENSE
I would give this place a better rating, however, it always smells terribly there. And why on Earth are you closed on Sundays? Ill just go to the complete other end of town to South library. They are open Sundays. Which is my only available day to take my children to get books.
This library doesnt support local authors although I am finding that to be typical of most of the libraries in our area.
This library is decent & mediocre but they have lots of low lives, idiotic individuals & the most backward ass patrons coming in & out of there. Most of these patrons who go in & out of this library are negative, hostile, inconsiderate, rude & disrespectful. This is why I hate coming to this library its because of the atmosphere & surrounding environment of idiots you have to tolerate & constantly put up with. Other than that you have people who are supposed to be helping you with computer questions & whenever you need their help or assistance they stick around until you figure it out but if you have more questions or need more assistance they leave & spend more time sitting on their ass. & then its the inconvenience of having to get up & constantly require their service to help you out instead of constantly walking away & sitting down & not doing much of anything besides answering the phones.
If youre a minority I would recommend never visiting. I went there every single Wednesday for years with my son.. the patrons including the children are simply so terribly racist and really awful people. Not only are the facilities outdated but you really have an extremely unpleasant time while youre there. I literally would go and sit at Aldis with my son during my visitation since the town of Kokomo promotes and enforces extreme discrimination. The mayor, the police, the judges are the worst I simply would avoid the whole city of Kokomo if you could its just disgusting how people are raised and treat other people.
Great library. Great atmosphere. Great location. A Kokomo/Howard County asset.
Bad
