Alutiiq Museum - Preserve, Explore, ShareSmall museum with archaeological artifacts, natural history displays, and contemporary art. The staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable regarding the museum and surrounding area. I really enjoyed learning about the Alutiiq people, viewing the large grey whale skeleton and the contemporary painting of a Kodiak bear.
Small, but well done museum chronicling the history of the Alutiiq. Very nice section for childrens education and involvement.
I love visiting the Alutiiq Museum. So many things to see and explore in a small space. Knowledgable staff and activities for all ages. Artwork and jewelry from local artisans as well as homemade soaps, creams and salves. A must see if visiting our beautiful Island. If your local then come see what is new.
A lot of information packed into a small area. Enjoyed the experience and as a life long Alaskan learned more about the awesome State.
This tells the story of the local people in a meaningful manner. Entry price, well spent.
Its small but it has plenty of interesting material on the Alutiiq people.
So much history here! Definitely worth the visit.
Small but relevant museum to the history of the place. Very welcoming staff, nice shop selection.
Learned some history. Eskimos were not the first to settle Kodiak Island, which is surrounded by hundreds of small islands with villages. These can only be reached by boat or small plane. My brother must fly to maintain the schools on the larger islands!
Nice museum. Entry fee was$7.
