Slate town is one of my favorite places to go and I love skating there AND they do games and stuff and races at the end so its REALLY COOL. I would highly recommend slate town if you dont know what to do w/ your time, only 11 dollars for entry and skates for 1 person on sundays!
Wednesday night was good clean fun for my 5 year old son & I. Next time Ill take something that glows for the glow skate song. They do have glow things for purchase there, but a little pricey.
On the intercoms it said to go get your food and drinks so i was walking to het my drink my sweater was on ot so i was right behind this man andd he just throws it away i payed for that drink and i only jad that for about 15 minutes then iys in the trash
Inexpensive, safe, old school roller rink. Best 7 dollars spent...
First time skating, it was super fun. The energy there is great.
Outstanding staff and great environment!! The owners are very accommodating and kind my experiences here are always great! Will definitely be back, would give more than five stars if I could.
It was awesome, just for the kids
Awesome skating rink, great atmosphere and fun scene.
I cant say enough about this family-friendly place! Our Girl Scout Service Unit (Fountainhead) has had two events at Skatetown and each time, we had a blast! We will definitely be back! Thanks:)
Amazing staff, so much fun
Always a good time taking my daughter and her friends. Definitely a family friendly atmosphere.
Perfect to skate and have a party. Great for the family and for friends.
First time visiting. Family had lots of fun. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Its a roller rink. People are nice enough. Took my grandson to a birthday party. The kids had fun
The kids loved the place is so exciting and fun they cant wait for Friday and Saturdays and Sundays to roll around!!
Pizza was burnt... $20 for a pizza is high and was going to serve it to use burnt as hell smh kids enjoyed the party but could have been better
We did a birthday party with about 10 kids during a regular skate event time. Plenty of room on the tables. One was setup for the kids and we used a second for parents. Pizza and drinks included in price. We added a couple of pitchers of Pepsi for parents and an extra pepperoni pizza.
LOUD. Averaged 82dB with spikes to 90+, and when the DJ liked a song he blasted it at 90+ also some of the music is not family friendly and contains adult language. They like to think they are a disco. Bring headphones or earplugs (or both) to save yourself the audio trauma.Otherwise it is cheap, has a good price on rentals, and the floor is decent but could use refinishing. Lots of new skaters, and a couple of the employees hot dog during the session, so be aware. Food is pretty cheap but be prepared to wait if you want anything more than a drink.
I love skating here
Id give it 4 stars but for what it is, 3 stars is sufficient. I understand they got overhead to cover and use the concessions to help offset that. The price at the door is fair. But if you want a place to have fun, this is it.
Great party venue!
Good Family fun environment very economical for a family day out!
Rented private party for two girls seemed like we were really rushed to get party done and kids werent able to stay and skate regular skate unless we payed for them to which was upsetting when we had payed almost 300. Dollars for less than 2 hours....wont do another party there...
I broke my leg here great place
Just like the 90s! Staff was great an fun, music was awesome, I didnt eat anything but it smelled just fine. The only thing Id say bad about it was the cleanliness of the place.
It was cool, it would have been better if they had cleaner skates.
We love coming here for birthday parties and learning to Skate.. Thanks for everything.
Had great service and a really fun time skating
My kids went for the first time snd loved it.
I go 3 times a week
I always go here and on love it bc know the works
I love this place so much it was amazing
It was super busy and those poor people were understaffed. They did all they could! Kids had fun.
Great place to leave the kids to skate!
My kids love coming here!
01/26/19 - This is Skatetown, the spot for kids from Jacksboro to Powell. So expect huge crowds as the night gets late. They also host daily birthday parties for multiple groups of 10 people each, Fridays & Saturdays being the most expensive. My biggest gripe is that seating runs out early & there peoples stuff Everywhere! They need more seats, lockers & coat hangers. Its $10 for one entry, cash & card. $5 for one skate or blade rental. They should give you one ticket per person at the door, which is run by high school seniors. Make sure your skates are TIGHT, almost to the point of discomfort. The size scale meets Converse Chucks pretty closely.EVERYONE FALLS DOWN, so dont give up. It just takes practice until your body understands the momentum. There are some whove been here for years and look like naturals. Once you get good at skates, feel free to try out the speed skates aka RollerbladesLastly, there are hourly events for fun.~8:15 is for the pros, leagues & employees to show off.~8:50 is Green Light, Red Light, winners get a small concession snack or drink~9:30 is Roll n Glow where you Must have a glowstick or something alike. The sparkle pacifiers are surprisingly popular a again, but are cheaper online. Unlike food, you can bring those inside.~9:50 is the Race, Rock & Roll that starts with youth and goes up, winners get a small snack or drink.~10:30 is the couples skate, then the singles are next.~11:00 is Turkey Tag. Its a weird elimination game where the staff tags out as many runners, and the last few get a prize.~11:45 is the Last Call!
I used to LOVE going to this place as a kid. I took my 11 y/o there this past weekend and, oh boy, talk about a walk down memory lane!! Good memories, great environment, positive atmosphere, good stuff people..
I love taking my kids here
This is a fabulous place to skate!!! The owners are absolutely great. Dathon (one of the workers) was so sweet in helping with anything that I needed and is a great worker. I highly recommend this rink if you are looking for a good and fun time!
Carson and dathon were amazing were awesome very accommodating to mothers and children that were there. Had a great time and will be back!
Its a fun place but they charge to even bring a cake in. $20 and thats not even for a party room. Just to have the cake in and eat it. Skates are worn down and beat up old as dirt.
This place is so fun and pretty cheap. The management is super nice. I think if you are in knoxville even if you do not know how to skjate this is a fun place to go to. The only bad thing is if you are older like 19 and up maybe the general population here is like kids in middle school. It is not a problem just something to note that younger kids hang out here but it is still a great time.
Kids had a blast!very friendly helpful and welcoming staff!
Fun place to take your family.
I liked skatetown but I fell ALOT. I have a bruise on my elbow and it is swelling up . My knee hurts alot .Other than that it was really fun.If this helped in any way please give me a good revue.
Skatetown Roller SkatingMy son loves to Roller skate at Skatetown here in Knoxville, TN.Skatetown has an amazing team to help you with questions about upcoming birthday parties and events. They also have a snack bar on-site so parents or grandparents can relax and have a bite to eat .While the kid’s wear themselves out racing around our high-quality roller skating rink.Home School Skate Monthly specials, 2nd Tuesday of the Month1:00 - 3:00 pm $4 admissionSkate town needs to update, the entire facility including the restrooms
Ive taken my family here to times we live about 45 minutes away each time its been a pleasant experience good music not too raunchy not too dirty I have young children and this was a good atmosphere for them
Great kids place
Great place for a wonderful family outing
Fun times with my girls! Throwback to my childhood.
Great place to go and reminisce of the good old days. I hadnt seen a skating rink in over 25 years until my visit. This place is great
My husband and I decided to throw our 9 year old daughter’s birthday party at skatetown. I looked on their website for information about booking a party and saw they had a number to text and I thought wel that’s pretty awesome! Except it wasn’t. It was difficult to get anyone to text you back, but they finally did. Then they wanted me to call back to pay the deposit. Took 4 days to get anyone to answer the phone. Then comes the day of the party. We get there and we had been told several times that we didn’t have to rush because it wasn’t a busy day and time for them. We were there total an hour and a half, but an hour into it a man (I’m guessing the manager) came over and told us we needed to wrap it up because they have a private party. I informed him that all we needed to do was open her gifts and that we had been told we wouldn’t be rushed. The man denied anyone telling us that and told us he would allow us to finish the gifts but we need to be really quiet. You want me to “quiet” when I have a dozen 9 year old girls? I’ll never go back. How humiliating. I guess what do you expect from an establishment ran by teenagers? However the young man running the concession stand was excellent. He was such a hard worker and very on top of it. I wish I could give him alone 5 stars because he deserves it. The manager on the other hand needs to find a new job.
This place was amazing each time to date! It has an older look to it because Roller Skating and Blading is a thing of the 80s. And they want to keep it that way. They have fun games like Red Light, Green Light. The only thing you would really worry about is the new skaters accidentally bumping you and making you fall, but it is fun. I am not a good skater but i still have fun falling on my @$$, well until you break something. But overall great place to hang out!
Roller skating is a lot fun no matter where you are. This place was fun, but also old and dirty. It was also filled with unattended preteens that were awful. I knew there would be an age deficit going in but these kids were completely unbridled. A cheap night of fun if you can handle a multitude of wild children with zero supervision.
My kid loves to go here.
Grandson had a terrific time with friends and teachers.
Great place for a birthday party!
Was amazing had such a great time
Great place to take the kids. Safe, clean, and good music.
Classic fun. I was an 80s and early 90s kid so I still love the skating rink. The people here are very nice and they have nights geared toward an older crowd. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that they gave me warm, two liter soda for a fountain drink. It literally melted the ice cubes before I got a sip of it, but It isnt a restaurant. The prices are really cheap. 5 of us went for 35.00 on a Monday. Not too bad.
Really great choice for a family skate night with friends. Adults and kids skated to great music on a rainy Wed night!
Pretty awesome rink, with music playing and black lights everywhere, but they tried to charge me 2 dollars for a cup of tap water.
The kids love it safe clean nice people
Good place for your kids to burn off a lot of excess energy during the summer
I had alot of fun hanging with my friends
Friendly atmosphere. Priced fairly. Great time with the family
Prices of toys and arcade games are too high for what you get. Money traps for parents! Pizza was delicious. Skating was fun, bathrooms clean and supplied well. Music and events on the rink were lots of fun and added to an overall great time. Only issue was shoe skates for the four year old with us wouldnt stay secured because the Velcro was so old. She decided to just forget it. Wed already tried regular skates that weighed too much for a four year old to lift her feet! But wed go back.
Nice place! Music was okay. The guy behind the counter at the skate rental was so rude but he may have been having a bad day! The woman working the ticket counter was awesome and polite and answered all of our questions. I will visit again!
Love it and very family friendly
Best roller skating experience me and my kid have ever had! IT was well air conditioned, the floor was kept up and the rink was big.
Nice place to skate. Staff is great. Decent prices, that includes the concession stand (no price gouging). Could use resurfacing on the rink.
Fun for family memories.
Ok, but pricey on a Saturday. Good prices during the week I think
Been going here since I was a kid and always loved it, but I feel like its quality is going down, its admission prices are a little too high, and its not as fun as it was when I was a kid. So I think theres lots of things they can improve on!
Place is bout getto these days. Floors are rough and saw roaches crawling around and we ate here makes me sick
A great a clean place to go.
Kids love skating music is great
Fix your floor!! Im an experienced skater, but Ive never experienced a floor in this bad of shape. I went a week ago.. ended up asking for my money back and leaving after 10min of skating. Will not return until floor is resurfaced!
If you love smelling dust and weed, youll be right at home.
The employees were helpful and kind. I only wish that they offered some kind of plan/device/service for children learning to skate.
Fun time had with kids.
My friends and I enjoy Skatetown as much as possible. The employees are nice and the food is good, too. We dont go often, about 2-3 times a year, but we love to go as many times we can.
It was great fun with our church group
Although this place has probably been there since the dinosaurs roam the Earth and its current Incarnation it is way overpriced smells bad lots of trash and run down in appearance. I know it is not meant to be a five star attraction for Knoxville but there is plenty of room for improvement at this place.
Went here with my gf and had some fun
We rented this place and had a great experience overall, employees were very helpful
Me and the kids had a wonderful experience, a great time, and really enjoyed the video games and skating.. We got there late and they gave us ten dollars back.. Very thoughtful
I give them 5 sparkling stars cause why I’m 32 and not skated since I was 12 and I was on a roll was there for team night with my work had a blast I’mThinking they need stand up comedy skate night and let me Perform keep up the great place
I love this rink. They play great music and have guards that control the little kids, which is lacking at the other rink in the area. Its a family rink. The price was totally cheap at $5, I was very happy with the rink and the owner was very kind. I will definitely go back there on a weekly basis.
Fun place for all family members.. Even Nanas
Fun for the kids and a ton of flashbacks for the adults.
Great place to go to have fun
Really fun place. Reasonable prices. Great idea for family outings. Nice staff.
