A Thai Monastery in the middle of KissimmeeWat Florida Dhammaram is a Buddhist Monastery situated in about seven acreas of peaceful grounds in Kissimmee, Fla.Yesterday when we left the house to go to Disney Springs we took a little detour to make a pit stop first.As we quickly passed by what it seemed to be a glistening something from the corner of our eye, we suddenly turned to each other and in synchronicity, Marcia and I said, “What was that?”You didn’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize what we had passed was something special. What we didn’t know was, how special it really was.Yes indeed, back we went.As we walked through the semi majestic grounds with bigger than life statues adorning temples of a much smaller scale, you can’t help but to notice how clean the exterior of the buildings are.So immaculately clean are the front facade and entrances, you can’t stop yourself from opening each door of the small buildings which house some magnificent sacred spaces.For me, to paint visual images of the detailed spaces that encompass the interior of the Temples, would not, could not, capture it’s humbled magnificence. So, with the effort of presenting a very sober rendition of what Marcia and I experienced, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.Be blessed.

We were in the area for another event and drove past here with plans to return the following day. We did just that and Im so happy we did. Everyone that was there (also a festival going on) was so happy and nice. The grounds were beautiful and if youre a follower (I am) or not, it felt like you were still welcome. The informational papers and handouts were VERY helpful and I really enjoyed the atmosphere!

It was a place were you can find inner peace. The wat has building that commemorate the birth, the enlightenment, and the passing of the Buddha in India.

You can feel calm when you step into the temple. Moreover, it is very big and beautiful.

This is a beautiful place to visit and learn about the Buddhism. You can pray and meet people. A hidden gem off of the main road.

Friends invited to discover the Thai culture with an annual festival that shows traditional and authentic foods, stage performing arts like dances, musicians, and singers in their language. Breath. Positive vibes, a flat rate admission, and blessings for being here among Buddha teachings followers. Exhale. Greatly enjoyed this experience.

Nothing like going when they are doing community days. The time I went was during a festival. They do a wristband that you purchase for a small fee, and you go around and eat. They have so many food vendors that show up and support them. Highly recommend great food and great entertainment on the stage. Be sure to bring a small lawn chair!!

Perfect place to sit, relax and meditate. Wat Florida Dhammaram is located right off 192 in Kissimmee.. There are daily meditation sessions wherein the monks encourage visitors to practice meditation. There are classes teaching about meditation and life of Buddha on Saturday afternoons. The upkeep of this place is really good. It’s well maintained, nice and clean.

I attended the Saturday afternoon meditation in English, which is roughly 2 hours long, and it was an amazing experience! The temple was visually stunning and the actual class was very informational! Im currently taking a class in world religions, so I came to this meditation with some prior knowledge on the Buddha and the practice. Even without that knowledge, the monk was able to explain larger ideas with ease. He was very friendly and open to answer questions during a break in the class. All in all a neat experience and a wonderful place!

Was passing by and saw this temple. Decided to do a quick stop and walked in to have a look. Wow, wonderful place, very tranquil and humbling. We did not have a guided tour but was able to read about their history and religious artifacts based on placards throughout their site. Beautiful statues and buildings. Glad we stopped by.

What a beautiful place and a wonderful bunch of people. We went to explore as a friend lives nearby, and everyone that we came across was very welcoming and inviting us to lunches/dinners they host regularly. Very peaceful place and peaceful people.

You feel like you have been transported out of Kissimmee. It is a very peaceful place tucked away behind 192. They have meditation in English on Saturdays at 3pm and Dharma Talks for those interested in Buddhism on Sundays. They also offer Meditation Retreats twice a year. Check their website or Facebook page for updated information.

This was the most beautiful and educational place we have experienced in a long time. Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. A lot of our misconceptions were clarified. We highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Our friends concur with summation of our visit.

This is a great temple where you can go and learn about other cultures and religions. The temple and the surroundings are not big, so you will be done pretty quickly. Do visit with the expectation of explore the site for hours. One hour would be probably more than enough to see everything. The architecture and some of the statues they have are really pretty.

Stumbled upon this lovely place by accident, met a mini monk in his words that was the sweetest thing. Beautiful place, made me want to research the religion just by the feelings I got in the temple. Amazing .We will be back .

We made a wrong turn and discovered this place. We joined in for the education and meditation. It was a great experience. I recommend visiting, I hope to return.
