Its a great and peaceful park, I learned that you can do weddings at the church and have characters dress up with 1800 costumes. $6 per person to enter and see the buildings or free to walk on the trails.

I was here the other day with my wife and daughter for a photoshoot and I just absolutely love this place! The settings are perfect ( we had our wedding here a year ago in the church and was beautiful) the staff here are very kind. They offer guided tours here on select days though if you do not wish to do that you can walk yourself through the many historical buildings here. I highly recommend anyone to come and check out this place!

For the last 3 years I have attended Pioneer Day at Pioneer village. This is a free event in which kids can learn all about Florida history through hands-on activities. My son learned how to wash clothes with a washboard, churn milk into butter, and made a rope. Last year he helped juice a sugarcane plant. My kid is 5 so he is more attentive then last year. We listened to a real Indian show us how they made and utilized tools to survive in the Florida wilderness. Last year we had to leave that talk early. This is an incredible event for kids under 10.I have never been to the village on a normal day. However I understand that they have employees talk about each of the houses for a nominal fee. The place is well kept and the knowledge of the staff is incredible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to know a little bit more about Florida history.

Very entertaining and engaging and yet a beautiful natural and peaceful environment. Children will love the authentic pioneer houses if they can go through. Lots of open space for them to run and play. Wonderful Renditions of the past by dedicated volunteers. Super clean. You will have to do a little looking digging to find them but you would not believe how beautiful this area is in the middle of the tourist height.

If you enjoy history, especially Florida history then this is a great place for you to visit! Its neat to take a step back in time and see what it was like living as a Pioneer in the 1800s. Its super cheap, $7.00 ( $5 if you purchase them at the Welcome Center) I believe there is also a Groupon. The property is quite serene and has dog friendly trails you can walk or bike on that go to Steffee landing where you can rent kayaks also.

My wife bought tickets for this on Groupon...we have been out there twice and even though it says its open 7 days a week both times we have gone while you can walk around the buildings you cannot go into the exhibits and no one is at caretakers house to answer why this is....will not bother trying to go back a 3rd time...the area is nice to walk around or have a picnic but other than that.....
