Pretty good for students
Lackluster compared to other student recreation centers, but definitely adequate. Plenty of mirrors to bounce your gaze off of, so you can silently disapprove of others form, stare into your own soul, and even check out your own ass as you squat. Its pretty dope. The cardio equipment is setup so that you have to awkwardly look at the runners and walkers on the indoor track. The equipment feels like its from the 1980s, which I guess is a good thing?
The Rec has a lot of great equipment and plenty of treadmills and other aerobic machines! They also have some great classes and a spacious gym and blue room.
Cons:horrible lack of variety of workout equipmentnot enough squat racks (still)youre forced to wear t-shirts (even cut offs and muscle tees are disallowed)forced to wear shoes (even when deadlifting)olympic lifting is bannedtheres not enough space to work out.constantly plays teeny pop music over the speakersPros:its cost is included in your housing costs, so its basically sort of free.its open at ok hours, except the weekend. its weekend hours are restrictive.thats it.
Great staff!
