Choose another company, especially if plan on snow goose hunting in Missouri. They set decoys on hopeful flyways fields without prior scouting to confirm geese were actually using the fields. There were good snow geese in the area for one field, but the field they put decoys in had already been used by the geese and virtually all of the corn was gone. Thus, we watched snow geese landing in another field where there was available grain. After 2.5 FULL days of hunting we had 5 snow geese come to the decoys. To make it worse, i believe the head guy of the Snow Goose Commander did not even cared if we were there. I think the Missouri hunt was an afterthought between his lucrative Arkansas and South Dakota hunts. An ethical company would not provide these services unless there was a reasonable change for success.

Started this company when I was a kid I have poured my heart and soul into guiding thousands of clients to successful snow goose hunts over the last 14 years. Keep in mind out of that many clients we have had some that we couldn’t please even if we shot the geese for them. In guiding you cannot control the weather, the migration or clients shooting abilities. Check out our website we have a entire reviews page and hundred of references. Have a blessed day.

Mark and his guides are great and go above and beyond to put you on the birds, the lodging has been great every time we’ve been down if there’s ever an issue they’ve always made it right. We’ve always been on the birds and found a way to make a pile of birds. That being said they can’t control the weather and make it happen when circumstances aren’t the best, all in all the best guide service I’ve ever experienced and most of all better people!!

Booked a hunt in Arkansas but had to move it to Missouri due to flooding then a 50 year flood hit Missouri so I ended up having an amazing hunt in South Dakota. Got on the road right before the blizzard hit. 36 inches of snow and 8 food drifts. Thanks Mark

Went on my first snow goose hunt with my dad this weekend. Guides where questions at best. We did kill a few birds. But we did a lot of the guides work for them. We tried to make the best of a bad situation.

After reading the negative reviews our group discussed it and man are we glad we went. This was hands down the best hunt I have ever been on and will go as long as my body allows it. Adam and Tyler are the best guides in the business and put us on the birds. We were laughing and rolling in the birds the entire trip. The dogs were great the lodging was great the guides were great. This experience is everything you make it . If you want to be miserable you very well can be. If you want to have the time of your life book the hunt and don’t look back.

ATTENTION: Most of these other reviews are a bunch of bull and were made right after several 1️s were given. These guys obviously had a few friends make reviews for them. It’s funny last weekend other groups left the lodging also due lodging issues. The cabin was in terrible condition the toilet didn’t work we had to fill the tank by hand in order for it to flush. The closets had water standing in them couldn’t leave out any food due to mice. Transportation was not supplied like we were told.Did not fire our guns not once in 3 days (not their fault) but it adds up to a very awful weekend. I don’t recommend this service to anyone. After the reviews he offered us a free hunt if we took down the negative posts but he didn’t have a care in the world while we were there. This post has nothing to do with the number of birds that were killed (0). This post has everything to do with the lack of caring and respecting your clients until they are gone and left a bad review then you wanna help them. There wasn’t a heater in the bathroom plugged in so please make another excuse for your lack of integrity.

What a completely unorganized group. Come to find out we did not have permission to hunt the first field they put us in. Which explains why the guide left our group hanging by ourselves for the first day and half of our trip. On second field we set up the decoy spread ourselves and started killing some birds. Man do I love to go hunting but I can guarantee you it wont be with these yayhoos again.

Stay away from this guide service. 3 day hunt never fired a shot. Left on Sunday because we were so dissatisfied . I can deal with that as they can’t control weather or migration. Lodging is horrible... we had no toilet the whole weekend... called owners who never even bothered to check on it also had no hot water for showering. Guide was late the first morning... no transportation to or from hunts...never hunted over any motion decoys... they never move fields or spreads just shuffle one group of hunters from one field to to the other...clearly obvious that the decoy spreads had been in the fields for a long time. Mice running all over the lodge as well. Very dissatisfied with this outfit and would not recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT use this guide service! Worst experience ever. Mark and Nathan are a JOKE! The only thing nice about the hunt was the lodging. We called days before to check on the birds. We were told there was lots of activity. When arrived the first thing Nathan asked for was our money and then after he took our money he told us y’all will probably be disappointed on the number of birds. We sat for two days morning and evening hunting and saw very very few birds. We talked to some locals who said the birds have not been there for weeks! How hard is it to be up front and honest with your clients, so they have real expectations. Knowing there are no birds in the area SGC are still bringing in groups of hunters, so they can screw them too. I wish I knew who the hunters that are coming in are, so I could forewarn them. I should have done more research before booking with SGC because come to find out Mark is a big Fraud. You can offer a second hunt for free, but my husband and I don’t even want to give your outfitters a second chance after our experience. Plus it took us contacting you for you to even do anything about it. We’d rather pay the money and find an outfitter that is reputable and honest and respects his clients.

Mark I want to thank you for another memorable hunt. I have been hunting with Mark for several years now, this year I decided to go to Arkansas. The lodging was what you would expect for a hunting trip, comfortable beds and a place to play cards, not much more I need for a guys weekend. When we arrived to the field our blinds were brushed in and ready for us to start our hunt. Shortly after daylight we started seeing birds, anyone who is a true hunter knows just how hard Snow Goose hunting can be at times and unfortunately this was one of the tough weekends, a bad hatch and a cold front made for some tough hunting. Mark did everything in his power to keep us on birds we scratched out a few and had a great hunt. I think unfortunately we are getting a new group of killers instead of hunters coming into the outdoors. If you want to shoot something all day go trap shooting if you want a memorable hunt with a man that will do everything in his power to put you on birds call Mark. Good luck to all that chase sky carp this year it’s going to be a tough one.

Just got back from a 3day hunt today.. This is my review of how it went..We stayed at the quack shack In Knobel Arkansas and it was an awesome place, very nice and felt like home!! We arrived on Thursday and were greeted by Nathan( this was the first and last time we seen him). The guide(Adam) was awesome he did everything he could to find the birds but, there was not any to be found!! We hunted all day friday and all day Saturday and killed only 2 birds..( they just wasn’t there). We did not see or even get a call from the owner,.. and I know it’s hunting not killing but instead of saying for two weeks when we asked if birds were there ( when they weren’t) he could’ve said no come next year and I’ll keep the deposit..instead he just took the money!!

Be warned of the Arkansas location of this guide service!!!!! The lodge you stay in is a very run down house that has been sort of remodeled. Water was in the floor of the bedroom when we arrived (not sure why). There is nothing to do but play darts after the hunt (only 5 darts) and one deck of cards no tv. The toilet stopped working early in the weekend and the only thing the owner said was put a heater on it (did not fix it) he was told 3 more times it wasnt fixed after that. The very large mice had total control of the house even ate buns we had bought for the next days lunch. The spreads were previously set up and not moved around they just rotate groups to different spreads. The electronic calling was worthless the guide was using his personal call and it was no bigger than a coyote call. Other speakers were in the fields but the guide said they were all broke thats why they are left out here. Hunted with no motion decoys only socks even though there was a vortex laying in the grass on the walk in to one field. Rumor had it that the other group staying in different housing left a day early because there was 2 inches of water in there cabin. The guide was a cool guy but the company itself is questionable. A free hunt was offered to us only if the bad review was removed from google. I would not recommend booking with them we will not be back.

Been hunting with SGC a few years in a row now. Mark and his guides have always got us under the birds no matter the circumstances. Been there from the best warm breezy sunny day to fog to cold fronts and even a tornado last year yet they manage to make it happen year after year in a big way. Highly recommend SGC come ready to squeeze them triggers your ganna have a blast!

Ill start off by saying Id give them 2.5 stars if I could. There are some good things about their guiding service. We have experienced hunts in both Missouri and South Dakota and with their South Dakota package they include some real nice lodging; plenty of beds and room, a fully stocked kitchen and cable tv with numerous channels. The guides have all been very nice and easy to communicate with, especially Nathan who weve seem to deal with and talk to the most. If we needed something extra they would do their best to get it to us. The reason Im giving the rating I did is because myself and the group of guys I go with feel that SGC takes the easy way out. Out of the 4 years weve hunted with them weve shot 30 birds with 8 guys over 11 days total. Weve had some good days seeing many birds and having good shot opportunities but weve also had 2 years that resulted in under 3 birds. Now I wouldnt consider us expert shots by any means and I also understand these are wild birds were hunting but there seems to be a lack of effort in moving to where the birds are located. We have also had a hunt where our ecaller broke and by the next mornings hunt we had another working ecaller (+1 for trying to keep the hunters happy) but an hour later that one broke too leaving us call-less for almost half our time there. Overall the people part of this guide service are great people who are very friendly and easy to deal with. If youre looking for a snow goose hunt at a good price I would tell you to consider SGC but if youre looking for a guide service that will consistently have you in a location to kill birds, I wouldnt recommend them as a guide service because of our poor hunting experiences and perceived lack of effort put into the guiding aspect.

Hunted with these guys this weekend in Mound City MO. Not a good experience. Met Nathan at hotel. Got the rest of our hunt Money then never seen him the rest of the weekend. First hunt the guide forgot the remote to the caller at the hotel. Which was 45 minutes away from where we hunted. Then got the remote to find out the callers didnt work. Then he got the caller working. Then left never did come back. Saturday morning we hunted field same field then they had us move fields. Which great it was a better field. We had to set the field up because Nathan no where to be found. Our guide had no clue how to set the field up. So after 2 hours 5 of us set all the decoys up we get to hunt. Which we did kill a few when we finally after we yelled at our guide to get in his blind and keep his head down. We had a few beers with the other group of guys and ladys had a bad experience as us. Never will go back and the other group wont either. Good luck.Ur right 2 side to every story. Plus I never talk to you on the phone because you wouldnt answer when I called. It was over text message which I wish I would have kept now. I was there and you wasnt. Just your workers doing half the work. Doesnt matter because I wont be back. I dont appreciate get a phone call from the Dnr of Mo either when I got home Monday morning. About our guide running around on the 4wheeler chasing wounded geese and other things he asked about. It kind of funny reading ur reply to People comments .you sound like a broken record. With ur half turth statement..

I was on a 3 day hunt 3/29 -3-31 In SD/ redfield. The housing was ok nothing to complain about there. The hunting was a different story. There was not 1500 decoys and the decoys we had were pretty beat up and muddy! The e callers had problems and didn’t work! I had a guide named Jesse. He said he never had guided before and the owner called him and asked for his help. He’s was a nice guy but had a hard time setting us up cause of the organization of the guide service. The 3 of us ended up helping with about everything besides the original set up on our first morning hunt. This was a totally the worst unorganized guided hunt anyone in our party has ever experienced! It really wasn’t even a guided hunt it was more or less. I’m your guy and what would you like to do with the decoys in this field cause that’s the only field we’re hunting in your stay!!!! A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY FOR A GUIDED SNOWGOOSE HUNT! I Learned my lesson! Our party of 3 shot 2 geese and we fired 5 rounds between all of us in the 3 days we hunted!!! Not a great experience with SGC!!! Don’t recommend!!!!
