Warriers Path State Park has one of the VERY BEST campground that I have stayed at and we have stayed in a lot of campgrounds. The campground is spacious and the road is paved. The bathroom are clean and I really like that the shower is not in the bathroom but separate private shower rooms with a lock and a deadbolt where only you can go in. It has a little campground store where you can buy ice, firewood, sodas, candy etc. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The park has a lot to do as well. There is hiking trails, the marina where you can rent paddle board, kayak, stand up boards . You can fish . They also have a nice playground for kids. There is something for everyone! GREAT PARK!!
Beautiful play area for kids.. The fishing isnt terrible either. There are several spots to fish from the bank as well.
Warriors Path is my local State Park, only a few miles down the road. We go often to walk, hike and kayak. If you enjoy birding Ive found the park to be a good place to go. Putting in at the park allows you to paddle along some beautiful parts of Patrick Henry Lake. There is an extensive mountain bike trail system that we use for hiking. Easy to cover 5 miles with no backtracking.
Hiked Devils Backbone. Plenty of parking though some lines would help drivers make better use of the lot. I love the views over the water and the access to the creek. The trail could use some mulch or such at the first steep incline from the trailhead.
I love the play ground for the little kids. However theres not much for the older kids, like teens the basketball goals are run down and there is only 2 so most the time if someone is there u cant play. The volleyball net set is always full of goose dodo. There is nothing else for them no pool closed. When I was teen we had pool, water slide, pool tables, soccer, basketball, football field, and there were 2 play grounds one for little kids one for older kids that was climbing material and big slides
Warriors Path is one of our favorite parks. Seems like the care of the bathhouses has gone down. Was disappointed the Halloween activities were cancelled. Most everyone wears masks for the occasion. Would like to see better care of the park.
What a fun way to spend some time. And affordable. Really enjoyable and not pretentious. We were allowed to simply enjoy the natural area and were provided with tools to enhance the enjoyment :)
The walk around Duck Island is pleasant as well as good exercise. The playground is very impressive. Lots for children to do.
Since Boone lake has been lowered for repairs to the dam, warriors path is a bit crowded. Once you get away from the boat ramps and the store, it is such a wonderful place to visit. The beauty and the serenity and the trees and the cliffs as well as some of the wildlife you get to see such as deer and Im sure other animals is just absolutely amazing. I look forward to Gracies and my next visit.
Me and the kids had a bunch of fun it has a bunch of history behind it and we all learned something overall a great experience.
The hiking trails, kayaking on the water, boating, swimming pool, beach. A all in one great time. Clean and disc golf. Great views. Feel safe is key.
I have been coming to this park for over 25 years camping, while it is a beautiful area I would love to see some money put into the campground. This weekends stay, the campsite had scattered trash in it, the fire ring was half full of ashes, tree/bush limbs were growing over the fire ring, actually the ends had been burnt but still hanging. Saw a lot of employees riding around in carts around the campground, but only saw them removing or adding reservation tickets to the posts at each site. Grass didnt look like it had been mowed in several weeks.
Attended the 10:30 am “Micro Parks” program on Wednesday, July 29th hosted by Marco. Truly awesome experience to engage and be able to watch Marco instruct the kids on the building a park with what we have inside our boundary. Did a lot phenomenal job ensuring that all participants were included and allowed to describe their park to us during the park tour. Definitely will be back and hope to find another program hosted by Marco!
Great park for camping. Quiet with level, finished pad sites. The only drawback is that theres no sewer hookups.
It was a nice little find with the kiddos. There was lots of different things for them to see, touch, explore and learn
Great park. Beautiful walking trails and nice size lake. Boat launch a small convenience store there also.
Very nice place to go have a day trip picnicking, kayaking, kids party or you could go camping a couple of nights. There is a marina there that offers rentals & has a grill in case you didnt bring any food & get hungry.
1st visit. This is a beautiful state park. Cant wait to visit in the camper.
Camping has always been one of my favorite things people are friendly and helpful made it wonderful for me and my granddaughters
This place is really cool for children! It hosts a Narnia themed playground! It is a great cheap way to spend the day! And a plus, there are grills available!
Went over for the 1st time in years. Loved how clean it is. The water looks clean too. Lots of people out swimming and floating on tubes enjoying the hot summer days of summer.
This family camping trip was wonderful. As always, so many memories made that will last a lifetime. This was actually a 1st for my husband, as well as our little girl Ansley. Hed never really gotten to camp when he was growing up and we hadnt had a chance to make time for it until now.I always loved going to Warriors as a little girl though. Had so many of my childhood memories there. Now as a mama myself, I want that for my own daughter. So incredibly thankful we got to do that together and with some more of the family.Cant wait to return this fall!
Warriors Path State Park in Kingsport TN is the best park in the state. Its beautiful and has a lot to offer.
It is a very nice park. The trails are a little confusing the deeper we treked. Not much on catching big fish from the pier but still was able to catch some small fish and enjoy the day.
Great park! I have 2 grandsons..3 & 6...they loved it....clean. ..lots of shade n bench seating....friendly staff too!
Was a nice park with tons of trails/walking trails and sports fields.
Very quiet very nice and peaceful and the best Camp Post youve ever had
Campground is older, but sites are nice and playgrounds are awesome. Golf course in good condition
Great place to camp, with water, electric and dump stations available. Plenty of showers and bathrooms which were always pretty clean. We had a nice level blacktop spot with rock around it and a fire ring. There is a grill and picnic table, however both were pretty dirty (see picture)and you should be prepared to have a tablecloth and possibly something to sit on as well. A good power wash would do wonders for the picnic table. There are a few hiking trails and and a nice lake with fish in it. We would absolutely come back if we are in the area.
Its peaceful and beautiful. Its not crowded all the time. There are ducks, which are so cute and entertaining. There are picnicking areas and swings. There is a special area for small children to play. There are camping areas where people actually stay overnight. There is an island in the middle of the lake, which has walking trails around it. It has a great swimming pool. Ive been going here as far back as I can remember. Its like home to me. Highly recommended!
This park is definitely one of the best in the area. It is huge with facilities for camping and a host of activities to enjoy. I’ve been coming to Warriors Path since the 1980’s to walk and hike the trails, fish, sunbathe, take kids to the playground and swimming pool and to watch friends play music, frisbee golf and much much more. It is also pet friendly!!There are horse stables and a full golf course as well. You have to make a visit to appreciate all the activities and beauty this wonderful place has to offer.
Two thirds of a mile paved walking path around a small island provides a beautiful place to walk.
Fun place for the family. Mondays and Tuesdays are quiet. The office/rentals are closed.
Great place to go if you love hiking, fishing, and the great outdoors.
There is so much more at this park than you realize. When we first started going, it was just for the very fun playground, one of the best around. It was much later before I realized they had an amazing outdoor pool (in the summer), boat rentals, tons of biking and hiking trails. This place is amazing. You should definitely visit.
Great sights, so much to do and explore. The staff is very friendly and go above what you expect of them. Only wish you could stay longer than 14 days.
Very nice campground! Would be nice if they had Wi-Fi. Other than that, no complaints at all. Beautiful campground!
I am proud of this park for many reasons.1st. This is where I learned to swim when I was a child. The largest swimming pool in North East Tennessee with the largest parking lot. Bus parking too.Camping Areas with playgrounds and lake access and boat launch.Driving, walking, jogging, bicycling, basketball courts, many picnic areas with grills and a boat dock! 3 launch areas and plenty of room for fishing and other water sports.A state of the art themed play area for the younger children including those with special needs. Beat that!Several Soccer fields, and Disk Golf, miles of the very best and scenic hiking; a camera Wonderland! If you enjoy GOLF, Warriors Park has one of the finest courses in this country!Located at the Beautiful Patrick Henry Reservoir at Kingsport, Tennessee.Except for the camping and swimming pool admission everything is the right price ... FREE.A MUST VISIT FOR EVERYONE!See why I am so proud of this park? Come for a visit, youll understand why.
Great park love this place, wish you could still drive all the way around duck island, they must that up by stopping it big time
This place has everything for all ages. I usually go to the playground with my kids and they love to play in the sand next to a small creek (located in playground area) on hot summer days. Ive seen others fishing, kayaking, hiking, etc. They also have frisbee golf.
I came to the park for the purpose of mountain biking, and mountain biking I got! The parking lot was in good condition, a good kiosk with maps, a changing station, Porta-Potty, and trails that were in good condition and well signed. Definitely a gem to come back to in the future.
Tons of activities and fun things to do and learn about. Playgrounds and picnic tables, bikes, boats, horses, swimming and more.
Perfect for children of all ages! The equipment is perfect and safe!
This is a great state park! My toddler loves the playground (which has a walkway themed with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by CS Lewis), and we all enjoy walking around the island, which has a paved path and several picnic pavilions. The campground is big and well-maintained, including the bathrooms. However, the hiking trails need better signage. One of the trails I intended to use was closed, and I didnt know that until I arrived (and I had passed it because of lack of road signage); it is difficult to locate the trailheads from the road if youve never been on them before.
It a amazing place to fish with family. And the regulations are great. its my favor at place to fish in north amarica!
Ask a Park Ranger what trails that they like to go on. Trust their recommendations because it will be worth it.I wasnt planning on spending a lot of time here but after speaking with a ranger, this ended up being one of my favorite states parks in East Tennessee.
I have been going here since I was 8 years old. Family favorite. Now taking my grandsons. Playground alone is worth a drive from NC.
Different! Got a weird site with Water and Electric on the opposite site of the trailer utilities. Took me a bit to place the 5th wheel, but its parked. Just tied up some tree branches so I could use awning. Seems to be a lot of small sites, so be sure to check site for length of equipment. The waters beautiful and theres a lot to do for all. Happy 4th!
Hot water showers, rest rooms, quiet, and a beautiful location. Whats not to love!
Very relaxed park with nice playground, disc golf course, and places to hike!
We go a few times year. Love it.
Great campground with lots of hiking trails and nice big sites
Not a bad place to go. Wouldnt hurt to have more designated swimming areas
Loved the area..would love to have a camper where I could go to many different places to visit..was over to see my son and he cooked for me...Was great and a beautiful place...
Very beautiful! I love running there in the mornings.
Very beautiful scenery I would recommend taking a day trip there enjoy yourself and family time nice place
Great spot for boating fishing and places for kids to swim very peaceful great spots
Nice Park! Its usually packed with all sorts of people having fun. This day, despite being a wet & gloomy January day, a few people were out walking on Duck Island. We drove thru the park and saw family(s) on the fabulous playground and driving around and just hanging out in their cars enjoying the views much like we were. .Its a great place to picnic, play, and has many walking/hiking trails.
Very nice & clean park. The playground they have for children is awsome.
This is an absolutely beautiful part with and activity for everyone. The walking trails are so scenic and amazing, they have a fantastic playground fit for kids of all ages, they offer fishing and other sports. We go as a family every chance we get! Great place to walk the dogs as well.
Warriors Path State Park is an excellent park located on Holston Lake. It looks like a great lake to kayak. They do have kayaks, canoes and paddle baits for rent. There were a lot of fishermen on the banks of the lake so the fishing must be good. There are picnic areas and pavilions. There is a nice playground for the kids. We didnt do any hiking or biking but it is available there. There is a disk golf and golf course at the park too.
Great walk. A lot of people!
Not my favorite but you may like it. Very crowded and small sites.
Beautiful place to stop into whenever you are in town. Dog friendly, hiking fanatic ready, and it is well kept. The staff are reliable and kind; great family place. It is handicapped accessible and the playground for the kids is stunning. For fishing or just a simple walk, this is the go to for me on my off days.
This park has awesome hiking trails and a beautiful waterfall.
Gorgeous park!!! So much to do! Perfect for the entire family!
May be my new favorite state park! If you like fishing, biking, or hiking, this is the place! We were there for four days and didnt come close to doing all the things. There is also an amazing playground. Not 5 stars because there is an extremely loud train that went by during the day and about 3 times every night. It blew its horn repeatedly and woke us up every time. Thats not the parks fault, though.
Beautiful park on a lake with excellent fishing, informed rangers and nice campgrounds.
Often crowded, this is a go-to park for walking, biking, and playing. The water is nasty and opaque but the out of water options are great. Challenging hikes or easy walking paths - something for anyone.
Love the disc golf course and playground for the kids
Kingsport is great people are great I will be moving there soon I hope
Great place to go. Specially when the fog rolling in
One of the Greatest parks in the state to stay at if your in the area drop in say howdy, the staff here is probably the friendliest of anywhere I have stayed !
Love this park! Nice, quiet and convenient location. About 20 to 30 minutes from Bristol, plenty of things to do at the park.
Our family loves camping here love all the different activities they have
It would be great without all the dummies walking on the road where, ya know, cars drive.
We really enjoyed it here. They have a campground, golf, swimming in the lake, fishing, nice kids playground and a swimming pool.
Very little parking at the campground but otherwise it was wonderful
Its a beautiful park with many ways to have a good time all year round
My friends and I camped there for a week and we loved it. The staff was helpful, even when my friend got the campsite number wrong, there are bathrooms everywhere, electric and water at each site for personal use and the prices are perfect. I want to go again when we are better prepared. It was a last minute decision to go. But I recommend it.
Duck island is a great place to walk. 0.65 mile circle
Incredible place for the family. Handicap playground is amazing. Really nice lake, super disk golf course.
This park its a nice place to spend the afternoon. Its clean and handicap accessible.
I love hiking and camping here. They have many camping sites for both primitive & RV. There are bath houses & a supply store with common items and snacks. There are playgrounds, golf course, disk golf, & more. The lake has paddle boats for summer fun.
Nice phaculitys just gets a little crowded at times.... But generally nice and quite..
Well the Park is beautiful but the golf course needs a lot of love !!!!
Love camping at Warriors we have met some wonderful people and camp with them as often as we can, the kids love riding their bikes and fishing. The camp Ranger is very helpful and friendly always willing to talk with the kids and tell them what they have found. Will continue to camp here as much as we can!
We thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the island in this beautiful park! One highlight was meeting a lady who was taking her cute, sweet little Chihuahua for a walk in a baby stroller. What a great place to enjoy a bit of nature on a pretty Fall day!
