This place has some amazing facts...check it out
This is not Disneyland so probably dont bring people looking for an amusement park. That said, it is a choose your donation (cash in a donation box or use your card on their FB page) museum. If you can get them to give you a tour and tell you some stories it is well worth your afternoon!I enjoyed spending over two hours there. And, Ive spent two weeks telling friends, family, and co-workers some of the cool things I learned!
This place is a gem hidden in plain sight. Not only is it beautifully restored and preserved, but the exhibits that have been donated from all over the area, tell an incredible story about the town and America, as a whole. The exhibits give an intimate glimpse into the lives of some of our Japanese citizens who were sent to internment camps during WW2. Additionally, we get insight into Ft. Thomas and how Carnation condensed milk got its start. The old building remains, its back visible at the Kent Regional Library. I highly recommend a visit. Its free, but well worth the recommended $2 donation.
The Kent Historical Museum has something for everyone! Research your roots, your home or business, learn all about the founding of Kent and what makes it special. Kent has always had a diverse population. The museum offers many opportunities to learn about the past, look forward into the future of our community and become involved in our community.
Knowledgeable and professional staff.
Thank you for the lovely tour, Stephen! Well maintained by a group that is dedicated to community. An important part of Kent history, go see!
This is a great place to spend time learning a bit about local history. Exhibits change frequently, so if you havent been there in a while, go again. Then go have lunch just down the street!
This is basically a mansion tour. There are some stories and artifacts from Kents history. Lovely mansion with period furnishings not original. The staff guide was very knowledgeable.
Free Guided tour was very friendly and informative and gave a very detailed idea of the surrounding area as well as some ideas of what it would be like living inside the house during the early 1900s. It was also described Kents historical ties to fishing as well as what it wouldve been like being Japanese during the World War II intermanent camp time.
Beautiful garden and interior. Had a wonderful tour of the place with various tidbits of information of the family and surrounding Kent area.
Great house, nicely kept up and helpful tour.
Very neat place to visit and learn of past history in Kent
I visited the museum during the Christmas holidays. It was so beautiful, everyone was so kind and the cookies were wonderful.
Wonderful, so much history!
Took a school group there. Fascinating look at old Kent.
It was an awesome tour and very informative!!!!! Thank you
Besides having its very own historical story tied to the property, it also has multiple other stories that unfold for every room in the house! I love the era this house came from!
If you like to see old us history it will be a great visit.
