Dorothy was very knowledgeable and hospitable. The church and gift shop were lovely.
The history of the Russian Orthodox Church in Alaska is fascinating, and the is one of a number of beautifully preserved sanctuaries open for visits.
Good history - friendly, helpful people
Beautiful historic church. Worth the visit. Close to the Kenaitze Tribe facilities too.
Very informative staff without ignoring reverence of church itself.
Really neat, historic, church with gift shop next door.
Great old historical place
A beautiful church under renovation.A tour with three of us and shop keeper, Dorothy, was just awesome and so interesting. Shopping with Dorothy at the gift shop produced a Russian sugar and creamer as a thank you gift for my dear friend in Nikiski for hosting two of us from Clint, Texas. One of the highlites of our venture to Akaska!
I remember coming here when I was 11 or 12, it was in the summer and the churchyard was full of wildflowers. Fireweed that was knee high, wild daisies, bachelor buttons, sweet peas, wild roses, queen annes lace. Just so many wildflowers.
A very holy place for a siner
Beautiful and historic. Nicely renovated recently.
