Central Square

Central Square is so very pretty! We stayed at the new Courtyard Marriott hotel on Railroad Street and had dinner at Luca, and brunch the following morning at Stage Restaurant - all were fabulous! Individual reviews of the three places are coming shortly!

Beautiful place!

A nice anchor to the large rotary (or circle or roundabout if you call it that). In the summer, there is a fountain and lots of places to lounge and rest. In the winter, the holiday tree ties the square together. There are no playgrounds here and this is a busy road, so probably not best for small children and runners. Good restaurants and shops surround it so there is always something to see or do nearby.

Cleaner since bushes were removed. Tree lit walkways with jazz playing in background wonderful flower displays. Many events happen there. And A GREAT POKEMON PLACE TO GO.

This would be a charming place for all to enjoy but is mostly occupied by the homeless and unemployed. Weekends there are picketers expressing their right to free speech. The city works hard to keep it pretty with flowers and pathways.

Downtown Keene is absolutely beautiful. It has its its downsides as does any town but its central square is a nice place to sit and chat, take photos, meet friends, go for a walk and even on some nights, listen and/or dance to some great live music.

Very quaint.

It is well kept, and pretty to look at in pictures: however, Its a two lane traffic circle, and can hardly be called a park. Tons of cars and people all around, very loud. I was saw some idiot couple who decided to have a wedding there.. practically gridlocked downtown. Not a worthy stop.

The heart of a beautiful New England town

Nice little park area with a pretty colonial church at the head and retail and restaurants along the outside. There is some parking there but you might need to park on one of the side streets or parking lots a block away.

A breath of fresh air on a walking adventure in Keene NH. Great place to sit, relax and catch your breath. Before wondering on to making plans for lunch or dinner with family and friends.

New England is blessed with virtually a town square or common in every city, village or hamlet. Keene is no different. In addition to its broad and well-traveled Main Street, the Keene Square boasts several shops, eateries and coffee kiosks. With all these amenities one can walk casually with no hurried thought or movement. Ironically, many outlet malls are designed to mimic what Keene enjoys through natural design and development. Enjoy!

Central Square Keene NH with my neice and her beautiful daughter. A place of peace and tranquility in the middle of it all. Beautiful, scenic, and historical. Side note : in the winter of 58 @ 4.5 years of age, in a Plymouth, as a passenger, in the backseat, I was holding the front passenger door closed because it was frozen and would not stay closed. As we drove around Central Square to get to West Street, I slipped myself into the front seat unbeknownst to the driver. You guessed it; I continued slipping right out the front paasenger door. My driver kept on going leaving me chasing the car as the Square lit up with driving musicians trying to get the attention of my driver. Scun up under my nose and screaming, I avoided being run over and caught up to that Plymouth and slipped right on back in. My driver only now realizing my adventure.

Because it is a good time with family and friends.
