Fantastic youth soccer club where I played as a kid, coached my kids, and now serve as a board member. A family oriented club where kids come first and the volunteer board is committed to providing the Katy community with the best experience possible for over 40 years. Proud to be affiliated with this club.

As a family we have been associated with Katy Youth Soccer for 20 years. We have been coaches, board members, and had sons that played. At Katy Youth Soccer the idea is for the kids to learn a little to a lot depending on their abilities, but ultimately to have FUN.Most of the referees have also played, at some point, at Katy Youth and come back to KYSC to referee.KYSC has been apart of Katy area for 40 years and have grown over those years. Well done to all previous and existing VOLUNTEER board members and coaches. Keep up the good work.

This is a great recreational league. Several of the reviews mention cancelled practices, practice times being too late and too many players on a team. All of those interested in KYSC should understand coaches are volunteer parents. Every season it is extremely difficult to get several head coaches for teams. If there are issues with practice times and team size the remedy is that we have more volunteer coaches step up. As a head coach you control when practices are and how many hours you practice each week.KYSC doesnt want to turn away kids who want to play and if there arent enough coaches then roster size gets larger. KYSC is a non profit recreational league. Referees are kids themselves, usually in their first jobs, who have played soccer before. They are not paid to make certain calls. That is not allowed. If something like that is witnessed it should be reported. The goals have field numbers on them. If you go to the KYSC website there is a field map you can keep with you to find your field.KYSC is a rec club, not professional for kids who want to be involved in some sort of sport. These kids may not be built for competitive club but they enjoy playing the sport and want to be part of a team. The best way to make things great or create value towards a league like KYSC is to volunteer and do what you can to make it better rather than scrutinize and tear it apart.

Canceled several games due to the excuse of not having enough refs. Part of what we pay for is the refs, so what are they doing with the money then?

I have a complaint, i had a game today at 12:30 and the other team i was playing against payed the ref to NOT call anything on them. there was one moment when there was a hand ball in the box, we should’ve had a penalty. then after there was a couple more, and there were fouls that should’ve been called. now i had a second game at 5 and we won, but apparently that game didn’t count. so the team i played at 12:30 are tied with us in first. once again they PAYED the ref the first game to NOT call anything. we would’ve won the first game to keep us in 1st, your referees need to know the rules in soccer bc they obviously don’t, at least train them bc it seems like you do absolutely nothing.

The teams are way to big in the U12 division. There are currently 18 players on a team. There isnt sufficient time for coach to develop the players skills. The league either needs to take less kids or add more coaches.

KYSC is recreational level soccer. It’s a great place for kids to start soccer and develop their skills. The coaches are parents who volunteer their time to coach...so the good news is, if you don’t like the coaching, you can step up and volunteer yourself! The fields are all labeled on the soccer nets. The website has all the practice schedules posted and updated if changes are made due to weather, etc. If teams are too big, it’s probably because they needed additional coaches, and no one volunteered. Tgeir only options are to ask for volunteers, make the teams bigger, or not allow kids to play...and they don’t want to keep kids from play soccer. They offer training fir the coaches and they have additional training offered for the players at a very reasonable rates by club level coaches. The only complaint we have had in our last 5 years with KYSC was the parking situation, but they have added additional parking this season and staggered games so even that is better.

Terrible experience. Unbelievably unorganized. Fields have numbers but arent labeled so no one knows where to be. Unless you have a map, we got one two weeks in, it was wrong. There are no assigned times for practice so you show up and hope you can find a field available. Incredible waste of my time, and my kids. I have 2 kids under 8, soccer practice until 9:00 on a school night is ridiculous.

Its good for beggining years, but if you get to a point like I did, you should move up to real clubs and leagues that are proffesional (Albion, Crush, Dynamo, Lone Star, etc), mostly because the coaches are proffesionaly trained and also because you get to go to places like San Antonio, Austin, etc.

I had a really bad experience with KYSC because of the disorganization and any information. This is my second week coming, the first week/second week, we came and the coach wasnt even there,we kept sending emails and no response.KYSC is a waste of time and money.I am very disappointed and frustrated.I hope this helps people in the future who are interested.U-12-Alexis Gallardo
