Socially conscious city museums are rare and KCM is one, they are working hard to tell our citys history in a compelling and inclusive way.
Good place to visit and have a fun and learn something.
This place was really special in the 90s. The back building with the giant taxidermied animals was terrifying to any KC child. The downstairs old fashioned soda fountain had the best root beer floats. I am excited to see what they do with the place once renovations are finished.
Great place to visit a lot of Kansas City history is here . First million dollar home built in the city
I think more people should come here. Its beautiful with some amazing history. They also have bike races and charity events right outside. Love the area
The collection of KC items is wonderful and the building itself is STUNNING. Worth going when they reopen just to see the renovations!
The music in the park tonight was really awesome, small crowd though but my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. Cant wait till the museum is open next year to see the new changes inside!
Interesting museum! enjoyed ourselves a lot! highly recommended
Love this place . I was born in KC.I have seen it a million times and it never gets old. I cant see it enough.
I’ve loved this place since I was a kid! There were trains in the basement, an ice cream shop, and the planetarium. Nothing but great memories coming here with my Granny & Poppy. Well kept place presently as well.
Spent my teens in this area
Its a great museum i was born here in kc and am 68 years young.the museum has been an inspiration in all of my life.
I attended the Kentucky Derby watch party here. This was my first time visiting here. Although I didnt get to see inside, I did appreciate the atmosphere. I wish them much success with their fundraising efforts.
I love the way it looks but unfortunately, its closed for renovations until late 2020
Closed for remodel, but nice homes all around.
Great look at turn cebtury Kansas City great rainy day place
Cant wait for it to open.
Summer concert at the musuem! Perfect weather, beautiful surroundings, sensational music
The museum is currently closed for renovations, but is still a great place to visit and view. The house is beautiful. The mansion was originally built in 1910 by R.A. Long, which also brought KC Longview Farm. The museum house a lot of items pertaining to the history of Kansas City.
Definitely worth a trip. Despite being shut down for renovations currently, its still mesmerizing walking the perimeter. The surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous and the informational stand surrounding the museum give great information!
A hidden gem! This place is an old mansion thats was built by one of Kansas Citys millionaires over a century ago. It used to be a museum for Kansas City history, but is in the process of being restored back to its original condition. If you go, definitely take the tour so you learn all the history of R. A. Long and the building itself. The views of downtown from here are stunning and the surrounding buildings are beautiful as well. Plus its all FREE.
Beutiful
They had a great Halloween festival for all the little kids
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery in the historic neighborhood.
Beautiful old home worth visiting.
It ia under renovation right now. But Ive been coming here since I was a kid and I cant wait to see what is new next time I get to go.
While the museum is in the process of being restored, theres not much to see. It will shut down April 2017 until 2019 for renovations. Great history though, and I hope to come back when its done!
A really cool museum with amazing architecture to just walk around and see. Neat to dive into the past and see what KC used to be like.
Its under renovation. Coming spring nobody can access the main building for two years, artifacts are all caved and some are archived in union station. You can watch a 30 minitues video on Longs life, the man that built this building and his achievements.
The Mexican American Fast Pitch Softball Exhibit: Connecting Communities Across State Lines is a fantastic walk through memory lane. Im glad it has been extended through December 15, 2015.
Great hills to go sledding!!
Closing for renovations. No collections remaining. Has the potential to be incredibly beautiful once restoration is complete.
You can definitely see Kansas Citys past.
Had a great time the Day of the Dead was awesome had a good time
Got a boring tour of an empty building. Should be closed for renovation.Part of the tour was the renovation plan. They want to make an art gallery with the feel of a early 20th century masion. Great idea if it was downtown, but who will travel to this location to play a game of pool and look at art?Dont wast your time.
Not bad
They host a pretty cool Derby party every year.
Biked up to the Manson yesterday it was stunning, looks like renovations are pretty much wrapped up
Under construction couldnt get in. Would have been nice to know before driving there.
Their free summer concerts on the lawn are fun!
Derby Party was so much fun!!
