Excellent history tour from very knowledgeable staff. Well maintained and artifacts marked with information. Would definitely go again
Toured as a potential wedding venue recently, the first time Ive been to the Majors house in over ten years. The nonprofit that manages the property does as much as they can to keep costs reasonable, and all of the venue cost supports the nonprofit. This is a beautiful space at a fraction of the cost of comparable private venues. And the Majors house museum itself is a fantastic nugget of historical preservation of a Civil War era home in nearly the condition it would have seen at the time. The museum is self-guided and theres so much interest and beauty to experience!
Always a wonderful experience. They have lots of events like the strawberry swing, so theres always reasons to stop by.
What a great historic venue in 1998 my wife and I were married in the barn, it was very nice. Its a great experience to be in such a historic place.
Farmers market hosted here was great. Cool historic buildings in the middle of kc.
Great place for the wedding. In the barn with attached hall for reception with bathrooms
Nifty little venue, super cool exhibits.
Lovely wedding reception...
I had both my wedding ceremony and reception here. I have a few complaints, but overall everything went smoothly. You definitely cant beat the price! This venue is beautiful without decorations, but is absolutely stunning once your wedding is all set up! Unfortunately, they are hard to contact and often takes weeks to get back to you after leaving phone messages and sending emails. They also showed up late on the day of my rehearsal and wedding. Other than that, it was good working with them.
Cute place to host a market. Set up is adorbs and overall nice, relaxing vibes
Very fun
Actually went here to do a family tree with grandchild.I did not realize the history. It was marvelous the three women working were great, very knowledgeable. I loved it loved it loved it loved it
Loved the visit here I went on a weekend the young ladies were very knowledgeable also I got to read quite a bit on my own this is a great piece of History. I was unaware of the significance. So glad I went
I enjoyed the self-guided tour. I drove by this place many times while l lived in KC for college, and I finally got to stop and tour it. I would have preferred a guided tour because I enjoy good storytelling, but it still had plenty of informative signs. Interesting that it was built to face the territory of Kansas.
Visited during the crafts fare. Parking no was not well organized.
Very fun and informative historical tour. We really enjoyed our visit. ..and returned for a Historical Brunch this week with history questions about the greater KC area...and neat raffle prizes.
Rented their facility and threw a catered BBQ for a group - some locals and others from out of town.Small parking area but lots of seating space for over 30 inside. What was really fun was telling people to walk to Kansas, and they DID quite happily
Wow, what a cool place. Its a museum of Kansas Citys first millionaire, and they often do self-guided tours. You can have events there, including weddings! Lena, the events coordinator, has been nothing but accommodating to us.
Have been here for several events. Its very rustic in a cute way. Downsides are that theres very little acoustic absorption so noise levels can be loud with a large crowd!
Great Museum. The house is very interesting KC history and the barn is a fun and functional entertaining area.
We did the KC Fun Tours historic haunted house trolley tour, and it was great! Our tour guides were knowledgeable, the house is gorgeous, and there is a ton of information available about its history and inhabitants.
Came here for a craft show and had a really good time. Beautiful place.
Great party or wedding venue. Reasonably priced rental.
It doesnt have much to do with it, its cute but it doesnt have as much history as they think.
History of the Kansas City history well presented. I would bring elementary school children.
My nephew rented the barn out for his wedding reception and it just great I just cant describe how wonderful of a place that was
Great place.
The venue is nice, but they have rude staff members. Additionally, plan to have someone bring their cleaning gloves because you are expected to clean up before you leave. That means sweeping, mopping, and emoting trash. The staff there does not do it, and they are unprofessional. It would be a higher score if not for staff.
Neat venue. My cousin had her wedding reception here.
Amazing event space for weddings or special events. Great historical home.
Wonderful tour! Love all the info and beautiful gift shop!
Dont get married here. Its cheaper than other venues, but they kept our deposit for no reason so it made up for it. The event attendant did literally nothing but sit in her office when she was supposed to be helping us throughout the evening. She was incredibly rude to us and our guests. They said shed never had a complaint about her, which I find odd because she wouldnt even shake my wifes hand when she arrived. She hated us from the get-go so its sad but it could have been because we are gay.
I think it was just think it was so interesting to see what he had back then .
We went here for our friends wedding reception. Very cool venue.
We had my cousins wedding here in the evening. Beautiful setting.
Tours only on Saturday and Sunday, but they will start on Fridays September 1st, 2017. Will rate when I can actually go in through the tour.

Great historic place
Sorry just was not impressed do your self a favor skip this attraction
Cute little venue
Great venue for a reception
Cool place
Didnt have material to make candles
Thats terrible. I was looking forward to going, but as long as they have people that are prejudice working there, I will boycott it and tell my friends and family about it!!!
