The park is currently OPEN! At least it was as of 08/04/20. EDIT- closed as of 08/08/20. Nice State Park that usually isnt very crowded. It has rest rooms and a few benches as well as lots of shade trees to lie under if the mood strikes you.Its on a bit of a point so you have great views of the bay and it usually catches some wind so its nice and cool.

The state park allows you to rent kayaks and more! If you want to kayak to the sand bar I suggest renting them for the whole day! Its an amazing experience. If you like to snorkel reefs are throughout the bay. When I went there were sea turtles swimming all across the sand bar eating sea grass. Highly recommended

From this place, you can see Kaneohe Bay. About a 30 minute drive when youre coming from town. There arent too many people coming to this park. There are spots for you to canoe as well as some spots set up for outdoor wedding ceremonies. This is a very good place to visit if you want to see some of the islands beauty.

Beautiful State Park that was once the location of Radio Station H.The Bones of Station H can still be seen and tell a story much different than the history we were taught in school. Also of interest is the 800 year old Heeia Fish pond.

We did a morning kayak and snorkeling trip with Holokai Snorkeling and Adventures here. It was pretty good. The staff and service were excellent, but the snorkeling was just okay. Supposedly one of the more vibrant reefs, but climate change has had an effect. Not the worst way to spend a morning but not awesome either.

On the opposite side of Honolulu across the Koolau Range you can find refuge in beautiful, unbusy places like Heeia State Park. The small peninsula in Kaneohe Bay offers stunning views on all sides. The garden-like grounds are well kept and have enough paths for a pleasant walk. Learning about the fish ponds and cultural history also satisfies curiosity. And yes, we saw the cat colony.

Okay so be prepared when you go to this place theres a place to rent snorkel gear a small gift shop but also a kayak and snorkel tour covered in one of my previous reviews which was outstanding theres nothing complicated here it is pure Outdoors where you can enjoy yourself and experience a lot of outdoor life lot of good photo opportunities also right next to the dock where some of Jurassic Park was recently filmed love this place for quiet peaceful snorkeling and kayaking lots of reef to explore next to Coconut Island also something unique to this side of the island is a very old fishing pond that older Islanders had built to trap fish that is still maintained and active if you go up to the banquet Center bring a picnic nice place to observe kenehoe Bay. Just below the banquet hall is the pier where a couple places to eat or found really enjoyed this location...

This place is beautiful and continues to grow. There is an information desk where you can get information and rent various water equipment. Heeia State Park was the place that held our dream wedding.

Nice place to have a wedding, just a little inconvenient for the elderly or disabled to walk to the ceremony stage. Perhaps, those carts to transport people would be helpful to rent for the occasion. The tradewinds made the occasion really nice and tolerable in the summer heat.

I love coming here to just walk around and look at all the beautiful scenery. I really wish all of the cats were not an issue but my son was able to count 64 cats lane in the parking lot. I do find this quite as there was cat feces everywhere. Looking at the pond off to the right and all the work that they have done there is just astonishing. I have gone to many ceremonies such as graduations or wedding receptions and have always enjoyed myself there. I just wish they would eliminate at least some of the cats that is crazy
