The resort itself is in a wonderful location on the Windward side of the island. Due to COVID restrictions in Hawaii the resort activities like the free kayaking, snorkeling, and other group activities were cancelled as well as the included breakfast and dinner activities. The room was basic, no frills with one TV in the main sitting area. The shower in the two king bed suite was very small. It was a nice place to go back to at the end of a long day of activities, not to spend all day in. Great views and secluded near a residential neighborhood.
Excellent experience in paradise! The setting is beautiful - off the beaten path, yet easily accessible with a rental car. Despite no breakfast/amenities during COVID, we still had a great stay and made use of the boat launch, laundry room and barbecue. There’s also a little kayak rental place just a short drive away. Overall we found the hotel and its staff to be top notch and would definitely return!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 10 days while moving out of one house and into another. We love staying at this hotel the rooms are comfortable. The views are incredible and atmosphere is so relaxing. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We spoke to Kris most of the time and she was amazing. We had to extend our stay a couple of nights and originally would have had to move to another room for the last two nights, but Kris worked her magic and was able to keep us in the same room. She also gives great recommendations. I was also very impressed with all of the processes put in place during the pandemic, which made us feel safe staying here. Thank you to everyone at Paradise Bay Resort!
So my wife and I stayed here during our 2 week quarantine and for another 2 weeks while we waited for housing. The room was more than adequate with an induction stove, good sized refrigerator, 4k smart TV, and decent Wi-Fi. To top all that, the staff is excellent. Specifically, Kris was our go to person for anything. She moved heaven and earth to help us with anything we needed. Our #1 piece of advice is to be honest and conscientious and youll be taken care of. Good will goes a long way.P.S. forgive the unmade bed. Took these pictures as we were checking out.
Due to Covid 19 all service was cancelled, no food, no snacks,no activity, the bay water seemed dirty, murky, the room was not what I expected, instead of a single King bed there were two rooms 1 queen size bed the other room 2 single beds, the a/c was motel in the window noisy, there was a sickening termite smell in the room and outdoors, good thing the price was reasonably but under the conditions that I have had to adjust to, be prepared to wing it on your own if the situation with COVID 19 persists. I will wait until restrictions are lifted before I go back. On the positive note the staff are very nice, local and understanding.
Really looking forward to going back here. Crys was lovely at the front desk and very helpful. The views are breathtaking. Highly recommend you to book an ocean facing room if possible. But if you cant, there are public decks with sun chairs you can go to, to take it all in. We enjoyed star gazing from these in the evening. Best bit of our stay was the free kayaking, where we saw a sea turtle swim by us. Very clean, large spacious suites. Made use of the gas BBQ too. Lots of restaurant/takeaways ten mins down the road too.
Love this place. Away from hustle and bustle of Honolulu but a short drive to city. Easy to find.
We stayed a few nights at Waikiki, thought to get away from busy noisy waikiki. We did not have good experience here- Main complaint was the guy next door cough a lots. He didn’t self quarantine. Was in and out of his room. We can hear their conversation. He was pissed slamming the door, cursing etc. I told the resort lady via phone and decided to skip the “grab and go” breakfast, because the coughing neighbor went to grab his breakfast as well. We shared the same stairway, I tried not to grab the rail but it was slippery from the rain. - the front desk guy didn’t make us feel welcome. I did not like the tone of his voice- the couch and coffee table feel cheap. The coffee table move with slight touch- the refrigerator also move and slide as we open and close the door.- the big deck missing a table. - no carpet just hardwood floor, so expect to hear the noise from people walking and talking upstairs and neighbor.- it was raining when we were there. No floor mats. Balcony have puddles of water. We put towels to wipe our wet feet.- they simple fold your dirty towel backTo me, this is not Resort standard. The extra $45 a day of resort fee when check-in should be absorbed by them, not the guests. The photos looks better the it actual is. This place is small. Kind of disappointed.
Stayed here for over 30 days during our recent move to Hawaii and the staff (Kris/Cheri/Jesse) that worked at the front desk were very nice and professional once we were out of quarantine and could interact with them. They told us the best local places around to start trying to local meals along with the history of the area. The resort made laundry and trash services easy with a website requesting the service then leaving it outside. Staff would come at time selected and collect/swap out any items that were requested. Our dog liked the freedom of the large room and going on walks everyday. We stayed in room 61 (above laundry room) and it got a little warm when everyone was doing laundry but it always smelled fresh. Hopefully the COVID rules life more soon so the resort can start providing activities and renting out items again. Maybe the nosey neighbor that calls and complains will stop that as well.
Great sized rooms! Balcony is very accommodating. AC runs super cool which is a huge necessity. Love this place
Stayed in march when it supposed to be rainy season but it didnt rain much. The feeling of being in the wild, fresh air and birds did make me feel like I am in paradise. I did all tours they offer and that didnt disappoint us, actually I think they need to promote it better as current information does not opens up all beauty of the tours. Everyone at the front desk was very pleasant knowledgeable and helpful. Cant wait to come back!
Looking for a tranquil getaway for your honeymoon on Oahu? Look no further than this place. What a hidden gem! The staff was incredible. Morning breakfast that included fresh fruit, delicious eggs, and a good selection of tasty, much-needed coffee was perfect. Kayaks and paddle boards are available if you feel like a little adventure. And the rooms? Cozy yet plenty of space, a great kitchen to make meals if you prefer, comfortable bed, and a large lanai to chill on while enjoying a few drinks and amazing views. Its a peaceful place tucked away in a residential neighborhood and definitely a great option to look into.
This place is truly a gem. Its in a secluded area overlooking a scenic view of mountains and a canal. I only stayed here one night, for my birthday, and I was surprised with an upgraded room to a suite with a huge patio directly on the water. It was peaceful and wonderful to wake up to the chirping birds and water. It included a complimentary breakfast with fresh fruit, etc. With an amazing view. The room was immaculately clean. I only wish I could have stayed here longer to experience some of the amenities/kayaking! Thank you for an amazing birthday and memories will always have a piece of my heart.
Beautiful resort. We loved our stay here. Gorgeous setting - the grounds were well kept and lovely. It felt like a small, private, intimate resort. We were so sad to leave a day early due to the coronavirus pandemic. We hope to visit again.
Paradise Bay Resort is amazing. The complementary breakfast is the best; the view is breathtaking. You must take the boat tour offered by the resort; you will get the best snorkeling experience with an abundance of colorful fish and play on the larger sand bar in the world (about a mile out). Room 41 is the best ( 2 rooms, full kitchen, jacuzzi tub & shower, 25 feet wide patio) right on the water. We will be back.
This review is based on the hotels “extended stay, pet rooms”.First off when we got there our room looked NOTHING like the photos online. Come to find out, the extended stay rooms do not look like the actual “resort rooms”. So basically the room was a cat fish.Loud neighbors, kept us up all night and very early in the morning, hotel staff did nothing about the issue.dead bugs on the ceilings, holes in the walls and ceilings, worms and roaches crawling on the floors, sink backed up (made it impossible to do any dishes) they would not give us more towels when requested, they told us we have to use the same dirty towels for 4 days. The door had a 2-4 inch gap under it letting dirt, bugs, ect in. The room had one single tv (it was a two bedroom”suite”) that stated there was cable but only like 9 channels. We actually lost power twice during our stay. Outlets were on the floor, I don’t even think they had a smoke detector..after complaining 3 times about these issues the lady at the front desk did NOTHING. Not even a “sorry, what can we do to make your stay better”, she basically told us we can leave after 48 hr notice and that was it. We couldn’t even switch rooms because of our pets. This “resort” was literally a resort of actual HELL. Stay away from this place. It’s absolutely awful.
Just spent some time looking at the location. Its remote, but seems to have great views, pool, a small gym, and down the road a basketball court.
Positive: We loved everything about our stay here! The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. This hotel is truly a hidden gem. Away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, a peaceful retreat with gorgeous views. Negative: Nothing.
What an amazing hotel this was. We had an incident in our room and they fixed it no problem. Brandy was by far the most amazing manager we have dealt with. We will be back. Such an amazingly beautiful property.
Very nice resort at very quiet and clean bay area. They have fully equipped kitchen, bathtub, nice pool and jacuzzi. Really enjoyed free rented kayak and yoga class. It was literally a paradise!Just one thing need in the room. There was not enough space to hang the wet towels or swimsuit. Need to have some near at the door and bathroom.
If your looking for a place secluded and away from the city and society this is your safe haven. If your looking for a place that is close to shopping, restaurants and tours this place would be for you. My fiance and I loved this area because it reminds us of everything that Hawaii is. Make sure you make a reservation for your dinner they offer on Monday nights. Our host did not tell us this before hand and we we were not able to eat due to limited seating. Something to ask about ;). The staff is friendly and they dont bother you if your in your room which we liked!
Very nice place. Clean very secluded with beautiful views. But hears the down side. Called to ask about the dinner and never could get to anyone. Just voice mail. Left message with no response. Walked down two flights of stairs then up two flights of stairs just to confirm dinner. Woke up the next morning with missed calls. Told the wife that it must be the front desk for my dinner call. Nope they were calling me because I parked in the wrong place and the woman said if I didnt move it she was going to have it towed. Well I was on texas time so had went to bed around 6pm. Woke up around 4am drove to get coffee and other things. Lots could have been avoided if the front desk would answer the phone. Also called about the tv not working. Never a return call. So if you dont mind climbing up and down stairs and up and down stairs just to talk about the smallest little things. Not to bad a place. Bye the way make sure you park in front of the boat ramp. Its a no no in Texas but thats where I was supposed to had parked.
Absolutely loved our stay. The stafg was super nice and accomodating. Rooms clean and cozy and we had a wonderful patio with the bay view. It was stunning
It is called Paradise Bay for a reason. Away from he tic Waikiki, it was a perfect place to ‘come home to’ while exploring Oahu. The stuff were very knowledgeable and steered us towards activities we enjoyed so much. Start your day with yoga with Sophia; it is the perfect way to kickstart each day. The dinners Mondays and Fridays were the best we had on the island, and the entertainment was beautiful and gave you a real sense of Hawaiian culture. Mahalo
Wow. Enjoyed this slice of paradise after a few days in Waikiki. Welcome respbite from a very commercial American city. On arrival we jumped straight on the sand bar tour leaving the back of the hotel by the pool. Very enjoyable. Great breakfast. Macadamia coffee . Also enjoyed the entertainment live music dinners. Great room. Kitchen, huge balcony, comfortable bed. Plus views right out of Jurasic park, especially when the cloud just rolls over the green cliff tops.
Great little boutique like resort. We found the grounds to be extremely clean, updated beautifully maintained. The rooms were also recently updated with amazing views all around..We found ALL of the staff to be super friendly/ accommodating and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was decent enough. The only issue we could see some people having (as other guests have stated before), the walls are SUPER thin. It didn’t bother us as most of the guests were respectful of quiet hours. The rooms also come equipped with a decent size kitchenette. This was a huge bonus for us and our 3 little guys. You will truly feel like you are in the tropical Hawaiian jungle when you relax on your room’s open deck.Other huge pro’s: They let you borrow snorkeling gear, kayaks and a towels for the beach. The live music was awesome.Everything was just awesome. We would def come back :)
This is a small, quaint, romantic hotel. The breakfast is complimentary and fantastic. A healthy lunch is $15 plus tax, which is not bad for Hawaii. You can Kayak and snorkel for free. You do have to pay for the standup paddle board, but only $25 for the day. The pool is nice, hot tub is clean and hot and the staff is so friendly. The rooms are nice and spacious, with a good size fridge, a 2 burner cook top and a microwave. Top it all off with free parking. A definite if you come to Hawaii. Away from the over crowding of Waikiki.
This place is great! It is very lush and beautiful. We received an upgrade to the Lily cottage and the views were breathtaking! A quiet paradise away from the craziness of Waikiki. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The dinners at the resort were delicious, and the excursion to the sandbar and snorkeling was awesome. Saw lots of fish, and couple of turtles. You can also use the complimentary kayaks, snorkel gear, and towels if you would like. If you enjoy laid back beauty, this is the place for you. Thank you everyone at Paradise Bay for making our stay a wonderful and memorable one!
I can’t say enough great things about Paradise Bay Resort. They were able to resolve my booking error, got my family and I an amazing room, and made us feel like part of their family. Very laid back atmosphere with lots to do. Definitely the old Hawaii feel, but the bay it sits on is beautiful. Will definitely be back.
This place was definitely not worth $900.00 a night. A few nights into our stay I had to hunt down staff for fresh towels and their response was “we have been so busy” Not an excuse at all. We were there to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and Nevertheless, tried to maintain a positive mindset. I wish I could say that our stay was like being in paradise but the sound of drills and construction noises next to our bedroom window was far from that. We were there to enjoy nature and have a little peace and tranquility otherwise we could have stayed in the busy downtown area. Upon requesting a room change they said “we had no idea this construction was happening” (Please don’t insult my intelligence) It has been going on for three days in a row and remained during our entire stay. Customer service was not what we hoped for and did not even try to accommodate or give us any other options. A little insensitive and careless I would say. Save your money and go to a high end resort for that price. On the only positive side take the wonderful boat tour by Captain and Honey! They were the only awesome part of our terrible wedding anniversary stay.
Positive: Amazing property, immaculately clean, great rooms.
Positive: It has kitschy charm Negative: It seems very ramshackle. Not a resort but more of a collection or random rooms
I have been to this place ones. I got impressed. This is a quiet very nice spot. Wonderful morning yoga classes, kayaking with great mountain view. Amazing breakfast place with divine view and birds tweet. Relaxing pleasant secluded place still stays in my heart. Would love to come back! Recommended!
Stunning views in an idealistic setting. Exotic birds come right up to you on the private deck. I wish I could stay much longer.
Great romantic and peaceful resort. Perfect vacation or long weekend getaway. The breakfast is fantastic and Friday night dinner prepared by the chef is fabulous. Great entertainment of Hawaiian music by Uncle Danny.
Firstly, the staff was always very friendly, helpful, and attentive through many issues. This is in no way a resort, though. Management cuts corners constantly. I would even say calling it a resort is dishonest. The pictures on the website are deceiving. Its beautiful and well kept on the outside, but the inside feels like a slightly better version of a motel. Ill break it down by area:We had to ask for toilet paper on 4 separate occasions before finally receiving some on the 4th try. After that initial struggle, they always brought it quickly, but running out of toilet paper should never have been a concern at a resort. They dont do maid service and say its due to Covid. In lieu of this, no cleaning supplies were provided, not even a toilet brush. We had to buy our own cleaning supplies to keep things tidy. Other hotels offer maid service, so I think theyre using Covid as an excuse to cut corners. The WiFi is low quality and internet connection fades in and out constantly.Living room: The walls are bare in all rooms - not one piece of decor to provide ambiance or a vacation feel. Not even a single cheap painting, just sage green walls with gray curtains. The sofa is actually 2 outdoor patio chairs pushed together. No pillows. The cable box is haphazardly balanced on top of the TV. The rooms are kind of depressing and bare. Not words you associate with a resort.Kitchenette: Since we had a long stay, I brought my own coffee. I went to make coffee our first morning and there was a coffee maker, but no filters. Ive been to cheap motels that provide coffee filters. We tried a complimentary packet of coffee with a built in filter. What came out was a pale brown liquid that tasted like burnt plastic. I tried again and it still tasted like burnt plastic. To their credit they did bring a new one quickly, but still no filters as they dont have them. Filters are not too much to ask for at a resort. The toaster was unusable and smelled like burning metal within 5 seconds.Next I went to make breakfast and found there was only 1 fork. 9 spoons and 1 fork for 2 people. Clearly attention to detail isnt paid before opening the room to a new guest. The microwave is atop a piece of particle board over the sink that is bending in the middle. It looks ready to collapse at any minute. The coldest setting of the mini fridge was just below room temp and made our groceries go bad, so we had to go out and buy more groceries. To their credit they did buy a new fridge, but the fact that it even had to be done shows theyre not maintaining their appliances and dont quality check before renting a room. The bedroom: The fan/light in the bedroom only has one setting - fan and light both on or both off. There is no way to have the fan on without the light and vice versa. The chain is broken and doesnt adjust anything. There is no comforter, just a sheet and thin blanket. We realized the blanket was actually a hollow duvet cover. I asked for a real comforter and was told they dont have any, and that their standard is empty duvet covers and they dont even own a comforter. One of the things people look forward to at hotels is the notoriously fluffy comforters but I guess that was another cut corner. Old, loud AC unit. No waste basket provided. Smoke alarm has been removed. The bathroom: Badly rusted hinges on the doors. No bathtub, only a shower. To be fair the shower is a very nice design with beautiful stonework, however forget taking a shower longer than 10 minutes as the hot water runs out quickly. Incredible that you cant have a long hot bath or shower at a place called Paradise Bay Resort.Again, the staff was great. The issue is that these problems shouldnt have even been problems. Bottom line is this place is in no way a resort. The owners should drop resort from the name, or if they dont have the decency to call their establishment what it is, they should sell it to someone who can afford to run a resort.
I made the wrong date reservation via Hotels.com. when I arrived at the Resort and was told I wasnt scheduled until the following day, I asked if I could check in now, as there was a mistake when booking. I was told they were sold out, no rooms available, and I had to confire with Hotels. Com to get any potential refund. Hotels.com states that in most cases there is free cancers and refunds. I contacted Hotels .com and they said they would contact Paradise cove and see about cancelled reservations policy, and would get back to me in 24 hours. Of course, when Hotels.Com got back to me, they informed me that Paradise Cove has a no refund policy, and I will forfeit my $183.00. ( when I was at the resort, the Desk Agents said it was up to Hotels.Com to refund me, because Hotel.com controls the money deposited. I feel taken advantage of...!!!
Lovely private resort in a quiet serene location. Views from our suite were amazing plus plenty of amenities and top notch staff. The rooms were clean and up to date;everything was up to par. The resort offered worthwhile activities like kayaking and a group boat excursion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paradise Bay.
Really nice resort away from the crowds. Great views, especially from breakfast. Also they have kayaks to use which is why we chose the place. Really nice.
Positive: The yoga with Hotel employee was really lovely. The breakfast was tasty and fresh.
My husband and I stayed at this resort for 1 night in Jan. of 2019. We rented a bay view room and it had a small kitchen setup. When we checked in they told us they did not have any room for us at supper and said there was also no room for us on the boat tomorrow. I will be honest we were going to leave as soon as we checked in. Across the road from the resort is dumpy looking. We did not trust to leaving anything in our vehicle. In the end we are very glad we stayed. We went to the pool/hottub and that was a very nice area. We ordered in pizza for supper and then the resort had a fire dancer for entertainment at 7:45. He was VERY good and he was also comical. The next day we went to their complimentary breakfast, which was MUCH better then any hotels complimentary breakfast Ive ever been to. Then we ended up being able to go on the resorts boat. They had an assortment of food and drinks. We went to snorkel for an hour first and then went to the sand bar. It was a blast.I felt at home with this resort and the workers were pretty great. I would recommend to put your name on their list for the activities you want to do in advance.Things they could improve on would be offering some sort of bar or drinks on the resort or at the pool. Put some more money into the rooms. Our AC smelled bad and needed cleaning, the light switches didnt work, and the vent window in our bathroom would not shut.
It is a nice place there but really expansive - you have to pay extra charge each day 43$ even if you don’t use the small pool or the kayak and WiFi didn’t work at all. The room was big and the area around not touristic at all.
The staff are friendly, however, the resort photos on the website looks better than reality.
Beautiful place! Its such a tucked away treasure! There is no view of the ocean, as other buildings are in the way, but the river dock is so peaceful and calming...
SCAM. STAY AWAY. Although the view is nice, this is not a resort at all, rooms are dirty, walls are thin so you can hear and see your neighbors, breakfast is mediocre at best. cannot recommend this place at all. Stuff was rude, sarcastic and not apologetic for the horrible experience
Excellent stay all around! Staff was very friendly, breakfast and coffee in the morning was on point, room was spacious and clean and those views! Worth it and looking forward to staying again.
I stayed here two years ago on our wedding night, and it was wonderful! I wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the sand bar excursion. The staff is wonderful, and the breakfast was awesome!
The location is positively stunning. The outdoor furniture in the unit was kind of funny but it worked. Continental breakfast on the patio was just perfect! Cannot best those views.
Great place to travel and relax. They have the perfect setting with great views of the mountains and the clear blue waters. The rooms are excellent and come with a full kitchen. We loved the hotel staff and they were very helpful in providing touring and dining ideas.
The person who took the photos of the resort and made their website should get a Grammy or similar award. This place is depressing. Walls are so thin you can hear people pee in other rooms. there is nothing relaxing or private about this place. My wife and I had a serious security issue our first night and they were understaffed (1 person) who was too scared to even call the cops when we needed her too.the place is tucked away in an interesting neighborhood and or old 60s barracks converted into rooms that they can overcharge for.Absolutely not worth even 100 bucks a night - and oh yeah, the breakfast is a joke!terrible - terrible - terrible.Great misleading advertising that got us to come all the way from NY... and we left the next day!I will say - it took a while - but we did get our money back.
Amazing property! It is on a more secluded part of the island, which is great. It is quiet here, and you will find peace and tranquility! Would definitely stay here again!
My wife and I had a fabulous time at Paradise Bay. We splurged for a waterfront cottage and it was great sit and sip a frosty drink on the lanai while listening to the water. Used their kayaks to get out to the reef to snorkel, for decent paddlers its not very far just pay attention to the weather. Definitely relaxing and would stay again.
The best thing we did after a 12 hour travel day was get our rental car and travel 30 mins to this place as opposed to staying in the city. The rooms are nice and the breakfast is lovely. Take the boat trip to the sandbar. You wont see anything like it again!
TLA rooms are dim, poorly furnished, and unsafe for small children/toddlers. Do not recommend for military families with small children.
Positive: Nice, clean,quiet. Negative: N/A
We spent our 1 year Anniversary in Oahu in September, stayed a total of 11 days; experienced Waikiki for 3, North Shore for 5 and spent the last 3 days with Paradide Pay Resort.I have waited to write this review because I wanted to have the time to Genuinely give my most heartfelt review for Paradise Bay, my favorite place I have EVER stayed. After experiencing the high life at the Hilton Waikiki we were ready for the trip to slow down and to lets be honest, spend less $. When we arrived in North Shore at our Vrbo we were so excited to cook and experience the local life but we stayed close to the air field and by day 5 we were almost ready to go home!Day 9 we arrived at the Paradise Bay Resort early but that wasnt a problem for them, they swiftly gave us our room Keys and went the extra mile to come check on us to make sure we found it and had everything we needed! We were ABSOLUTELY Blown Away from the moment we walked into our room!We stayed next to the aviary so we heard the most beautiful tropical birds in the mornings and throughout the days, we even spent time singing to them to hear them sing back! We took full advantage of their supremely clean pool and spa! And the his and hers robes were PERFECT for heading back up to the room after relaxing in the spa! There were several floating decks for sun bathing or just hanging out! We were served a beautiful continental breakfast by the staff each morning that consisted of REAL, WHOLE FOODS not just cereal and toast! We made sure to Kayak and got a Paddleboarding lesson before heading out in the Kaneohe Bay for some solo adventuring! My absolute favorite part of this resort though, was their catamaran trip to the sand bar! I got to experience the island in a way I never have before, standing on a sand bar in the middle of the ocean!!! Here we were lucky enough to swim with a sea turtle and see several groups of mantarays (my favorite since childhood) and I even got to swim with them! My heart was so full that day and I still get goosebumps when I think about it!I dont want to keep you here all day but I could honestly go on for days!Paradise Bay Resort has my heart, a home away from home! Of all the places I have stayed on Oahu, I can honestly say this Little Hidden Gem takes the flippin cake! I cannot wait to come back next year and stay our WHOLE trip here!Huge thank you to Greta, Sophia and Captain Rallen for making our Anniversary so damn special! We will be back next year to see you!
The hotel is very great and quiet. Also, they have kayak and many other activities.
We choose a very bad time for a vacation but we hada wedding to attend. Plenty of things wemt wrong this vacation but pur atau at paradise bay was not ome of them. I would return here wothout hesitation.
WARNING - This is long! I always appreciate looking at reviews when visiting someplace new, so Ill try to include as much as I can.Our family stayed here for a week in May 2018. We were visiting for the wedding of our long-time friends daughter, but we also tried to fit in a lot of other stops! The only reason Im not giving a 5 star is because I dont think anywhere is perfect. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. Contrary to some other reviews I read, we didnt find it odd to drive through the residential neighborhood to get to the resort - actually rarely saw any residents outside. Also, we didnt find the roosters annoying, but just part of the adventure! We stayed in the Hale Opua 2 bedroom suite. There were 4 adults and 1 twelve year old - we had plenty of room! Lots of cupboard/drawer space. We didnt eat in very often, but found there were enough pots, etc. for our needs. I will attach some pictures from our stay. The only difference I really saw from the pictures on the website are that on the lanai there is no table and chairs - just lounge chairs and a couch/coffee table. The lanai is huge and provides GREAT views! There were days when it was humid and we used the air, but other days there was always a nice breeze blowing and it was great to have the windows open.We always found breakfast to be good and usually took it down to the floating docks to eat. We did the snorkeling/sandbar excursion - got to swim with some sea turtles and on the way back Brian said he saw some rays, but then we couldnt spot them again. The sand bar is very cool - just so strange that you are only up to about your thighs in the water! We used the kayaks one day - it is very slippery getting in and out of the kayaks - a fellow guest helped me get out! We also enjoyed the pool - the house next door has many tropical birds and always sounded wonderful!Just some things I noted -It was dark by 7 p.m.!We did the sand bar excursion on the Saturday that we checked out - theywere very accommodating about letting us change afterwards in thebathrooms off the breakfast area.Groceries were pretty expensive - the cheapest loaf of bread was over $5.Some things we did on Oahu -I purchased the Oahu Go cards - we liked them - depends on how muchyou are going to do I guess - they were very convenient.Dolphin Encounter at Sea Life Park - this Park is pretty small, but weenjoyed the Dolphin Encounter and were able to feed some sea turtles.Valley of the Temples - very cool place! Ask the guide to take you behindthe scenes to the columbarium behind the giant Buddha - VERY cool!Waimea Valley - swam in the water fall - very fun - we spent the extra $ toride the shuttle to the waterfall and very glad we did - seemed like itwould be a very long walk - wouldve been a nice walk if we had moretimeAla Moana Beach in Honolulu - popular spot for wedding pictures!La Mariana Sailing Club - for lunch - food was awesome! The pictures include views from the lanai, the pool at night, small balcony off master bedroom, laundry room, kitchen, laundry room, steps up to unit (they are indoors), Byodo-In Temple at Valley of the Temples.Dont hesitate to stay at this place if you want somewhere out of the hustle bustle. We were very happy with our stay here! We stayed our last night in Waikiki - totally different experience - yes you can walk everywhere, but it is definitely not quiet and peaceful like Paradise Bay Resort!
Positive: Free breakfast was nice, pool was nice Negative: Be prepared for the roosters
This is a beautiful place. Highly recommended. They also offer a unique experience of taking you out to the Kaneohe sandbar! Brian was a fantastic guide
The facility is very nice and is isolated. Roosters woke us at 1:45am the first night and continued till breakfast. We didn’t notice them until 5am the next 2 nights. We paid an extra $44/night resort fee with tax for two. Kayaks, pool, hot tub, and yoga are included. But in 3 days of trying we never had internet. Staff who tried to help us said it’s bad for Apple products. Breakfast was great, staff very friendly, but afternoon/evening bar and restaurant closed during our stay.
My wife and I loved this place. It was in a neighborhood and secluded from the tourist part of Oahu. If you are looking for something that’s very quiet and away from the crowds; this place is it. The staff was awesome. The room was small but cozy. We loved the excursions.
We were so relaxed and the owners are so nice and welcoming, the fire show was amazing and we loved it here!
It is difficult to write a review for Paradise Bay Resort as it has a number of both good and bad points; however, fundamentally in my opinion it does not represent good value for money. When you include the resort fee our room was around $300 per night and we didn’t even have a view; in comparison we stayed in Waikiki for 1/3 of that in a much nicer room! I was a bit annoyed about the $38 resort fee, which should be made a LOT more obvious on the website/when booking; I didn’t see it mentioned until the confirmation email where it was literally in bold as the second paragraph! Maybe it’s a common American thing, but as a European I felt scammed! There are several good points however; the view from the breakfast terrace (and if you want to pay even more, from the rooms!) is quite spectacular. The breakfast itself is pretty good, and the staff who clean the rooms did an excellent job. Although the place was quite full, we never had any issues parking. We did the buffet dinner one night which at $40 each was very, very good value; the food was great, and the entertainment was perfect! On the negative side there is not really anything to do there, other than use the canoes. The pool/hot tub are tiny. It’s around a 20-minute drive to a decent beach, and there aren’t any restaurants nearby; we ended up with 7/11 noodles one night as we didn’t have the energy to drive! Our room was small and dark, and the air conditioning was far too loud to sleep with, although we found the room a comfortable temperature without it. Although the staff were friendly, the whole experience was a bit impersonal; for example, no mention was made that it was our honeymoon (which is fine, although the other hotel did give us a small goody bag…). Also, when we checked out several staff members were too busy discussing bookings to bother to say goodbye/wish us a good journey. Neither of these things are important, but first and last impressions stick, and it wouldn’t have taken so much effort to congratulate us, or pause a discussion about profits while a customer is there (which I think it was slightly unprofessional to be having in the first place) to say goodbye.Overall, as I started by saying, I just don’t think Paradise offers good value for money. The area should certainly be visited, but it is far easier to do it as a day trip from somewhere else!
Very cute and quaint collection of buildings on Kaneohe Bay. Peaceful getaway hidden in a quiet neighborhood. You can borrow kayaks and enter the bay right from the property.
Incredible!! Views, maintenance, peace, service everything is a 10.
The resort was nice but there are other places that are more affordable and offer more. The location is along a bay (which the views are excellent) but the bay itself is cloudy water and nothing to see. In Hawaii, almost everywhere else the water is clear and offers great swimming. The location is inside a residential area with no restaurants, bars or anything around with the exception of a 7-11 store. The resort offers no food service outside of breakfast. The cost of the resort is high and they bury (deep into their terms and conditions) a $40 resort fee for use of pool (small and closes at 9), hot tub and kayaks/paddleboards (which as I mentioned above the bay you are offers little to see). The wrokout room is a total joke. The rooms are nice but ours had some bugs in it (not a big deal, you are in Hawaii). It is on a STEEP hill so be prepared to climb up some steps. Overall it was good but the resort fee really was a surprise (I challenge you to find it mentioned on their website) and not even close to worth it.
Im so happy we chose this hotel. It is out of the way in a quiet neighborhood. They made our stay great!
Beautiful place. Loved the view of the mountain and lake.
This place is amazing!! If you are wanting to stay in Oahu I HIGHLY recommend staying here. And go the extra for the balcony room over the bay!!
We absolutely loved our stay here. From the always friendly and helpful staff, to the incredible location, delicious breakfast, and amenities (free kayaks in a gorgeous bay?! Yes please!), we were blown away by this resort!
This place is like old time Hawaii! The staff is very caring. The amenities are fun. The meals are delightful. I will definitely go back!!
When we arrived it was a little confusing as to where you check in. We even had numerous other guests ask us how to. Once we got checked in we went to our room which they had upgraded from a studio to a suite which was cool. The room needs some TLC. There is no full length mirror and the lighting in the bathroom is terrible. We also kept smelling something in the closet and discovered the crawl hole cover was missing. It takes a while to get warm water in the shower. We scheduled the fire and knife show and got a call that the music wouldn’t be there but the fire and knife show would still happen. It didn’t but no one told us until we were sitting down eating our dinner and we asked what time it started. They said it wasn’t going to happen due to the weather. It would’ve been nice to know that. We could’ve had dinner elsewhere for much less. We had a great day on the barge. The weather was rainy but we had a great time due to Honey and Rammel. Greta was so very personable and kind, that it makes it difficult to say anything that’s not positive.
Lots of good things and some bad as well.Checking in & location:I would say, if you are checking in and is the first time coming here, better come during the day. I didnt like the drive to the resort during the night and felt a bit secluded and dark. Also I was handed over a map to my room, but really had struggle finding it. There are no signs anywhere outside saying which room is where. Went to two other room front before going back to front desk for help. I would have never found it by myself.Room:Got a big refrigerator, microwave, cookware etc, which is great. Bathroom was ok, no bathtub. Everything was clean. My room was without any views. There were roosters making sound non stop throughout the night and couldnt sleep very well because of that.Breakfast: Really good morning breakfast. Also the view from the seating area was stunning!!!. The staff at the kitchen was really friendly.
Great amenities and the nicest staff ever! Yoga in the mornings followed by kayaking or SUP. Or sit on the dock and relax with a beautiful view. The rooms are thoughtfully stocked and very comfortable. And they allow pets!
Nice small resort on a quiet bay. Water view suite was a good size, had good kitchen facilities, and a wonderful balcony.
I never thought one day I have to write down the bad review for this. Because I think, we should find down at least one good thing with all bad stuff, but nothing here.We flew from California to here 6hrs, arrived at 5pm ( 11th Feb) yesterday. We have a son 2y8m. Were all tired, checked in and asked for dinner. We were so hungry at that time because the time is 2 hours zone difference. They said they do not have enough food, they dont have enough table because the weather is not good today. I was so surprised and shocked because they live here, work here and they said they dont know about the weather, and they do not check about new guest. I called them in the morning before I came to ask about the shuttle. They gave the taxis card and said we book the car and have dinner outside. We paid around 300$ per night. The first time in my life I know about this kind of good service with 4.4 stars. I wonder where is all of the stars they have ???About the room, the air-conditioning is really noisy all the time. Rooms location is so bad because they are fixing the handrail. Underneath our room was so loud because they used the harmer for that. The gas smell is everywhere because their clothes-dryer use the propane gas.And the WORST thing is no one say at least sorry with all of that stuffs...To all people who wanna find out the good resort with good services please this is not the one you are looking for. With all of things they did, they should stop their business.
Beautiful relaxing place to stay. With different activities to do and incredible location. Staff is very friendly.
Loved our experience here and highly recommend it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I was surprised there were kayaks available for free and the free breakfast was surprisingly yummy and the decorations were really nice. The location is gorgeous! I read a previous review about a bay being no where in sight-- you are literally on the bay and can see the bay or the canal connecting directly to the bay from all the rooms. Loved it!
We liked the friendly staff, the out of the way location and it was really ideal for doing things on the east and north shores. We would certainly book again.
This place is a hidden gem on the windward side of the island. Avoid downtown Waikiki and see some of the real beauty of Hawaii on the windward (east) side of the island. This resort is tucked into a residential neighborhood but is very secure and offers awesome views of the bay with water access. The staff (Tom) was absolutely amazing and accommodating to all of questions, requests, etc. The resort stay includes breakfast every morning (real breakfast), a fitness center, kayak/SUP rental, and the room we had included an awesome view from the lanai (porch) and a full kitchen. We did one of the offered dinners where they had an awesome local chef come in and do dinner (so ono/delicious), the dinner had hula and a very good ukulele player/singer. We also did the yoga class and then the SUP class with Sarah which was so fun and right there in the bay. We finished up with a trip out to the sandbar (offered by the resort owned pontoon boat) to snorkel. Such a cool place, awesome staff, great price for all that is offered and they really made our trip awesome this week. Highly recommended.
Great staff. Room very nice but the walls very thin and could hear everything next door. Great location.
Really love the ambience, the breakfast and the surrounding... have free yoga class at the open deck
It’s hidden away. Don’t judge the place when u first pull up. It’s nice and friendly ppl
Its far away from Waikiki thank god and can be quiet, but for the staff! No one told us the front cabins are under construction.Even when not working its like some of these white guys have no sense of guests around them. And its pretty pricey -Especially if you are booked in room 28. Run! Its way small with no view! Well unless you count the parking lot view.As long as you dont want to hang out here during the day, other than that we loved location and the staff is really friendly.
The whole resort was amazing! We stayed in Waikiki and North Shore before coming here and this place blew them both away. Ice cold A.C. and incredible mountain views awaited us upon arrival. Our room was surrounded by lush tropical plants and had a private covered deck. There was free yoga and the instructor was the happiest person ever, named Sophia. We were on a floating dock facing the bay and obviously that was the coolest view ever for yoga. We also kayaked in the bay and had a huge sea turtle swim under us.
Beautiful location at the canal into K Bay. Parking is not guaranteed, and requires a very steep drive that my tires slipped on with the rain. Our ceiling fan was possessed and would turn on the light very bright at 2 am. The management tried to fix it once, and it did the same, waking us all up several more times. We couldnt find a spot near our room a few times, so we were hiking steep steps back and forth to the car. We paid a resort fee that states it is for parking, but there are not as many parking spots as rooms, for sports equipment, but they charge additional fees to use any of the equipment, for beach towels, but none were in our room or offered to us at the desk or pool, for breakfast that is open 2 hours, but ran out of fruit in the first hour before we got there, and for laundry, but the machines are coin operated, at $2 to dry our damp towels and suits for packing.
Nice place but some rooms have no windows! No help with bagage and many steps to the rooms! Climate are old! August 2016!
Awesome place to stay on the other side of the island. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff and in suite kitchen. We loved sitting out on the dock and going kayaking. Definitely an adventure resort. It is located on a bay, not the beach. If beaches are important to you know that there are plenty of public beaches with bathrooms and showers all over the island!
My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. We loved the resort. We stayed at a more upscale resort and we preferred this resort because of the authenticity. You feel the Hawaiian culture more in this resort. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We were greeted by local chickens and cats daily, kayaking/paddle boarding/snorkeling/boat excursions were provided, and the morning breakfast and VIEW were amazing. We would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. The resort is very close driving distance to everything.
I loved this hidden of a gem resort. Our room was beautiful, with a huge balcony.
Beautiful rooms. Pool area is amazing.
Getaway from the hustle and bustle. Everything about this place is great, everything.
