Great experience as always. Staff does a fantastic of getting you on the tee with a little traffic as possible.

Great muni, fantastic shape. Avoid range if you value your clubs, getting a chip or dent in your irons is an inevitability. Practice green and public practice area beside range are great though.

Beautiful course and great friendly staff. The course has a really good balance between long holes and short holes. but the driving range could do with a bit of updating and remodeling.

Nice course but as we were making the turn, there were 2 groups of 4 teeing off on the back that were just starting their rounds. Dont let people tee off the back if you have people making the turn - especially a twosome. I dont want to wait 40 minutes between the 9th and 10th holes - it kills any rhythm that you have and made the back 9 extremely slow. This is the second time that this has happened. Not acceptable when were paying $90.

Absolutely beautiful course. Little known fact, the 2004 masters were held here because Augusta was rented out for a birthday party and this was the next best course. A little Easter egg is that when you play the 5th hole, look for the tallest tree and you will be standing exactly where the declaration of Independence was signed. I dont know what I enjoyed more, the cigarette butts on the ground or the increasing crime rate in the area.The strategically placed hazards and traps are sure to challenge even the most technically proficient golfers. Designed by Arnold Palmer himself, this course is so nice that you can barely tell the difference between the rough, the fairway, and the road. The greens are perfectly manicured to your hearts desire. This course is never dirty.Some guy named Mark just said they dont quite roll downhill like the club ha ha and I dont know what that means but keep that in mind.

Counter people are rude. Wont be going back! I dont think the pro? Knows how to get out of his office. Never have met him, a far cry from the last pro who was out mingling with the customers.

Went golfing there today and was treated with horrendous service by the staff. Reading through the reviews this seems to be quite a prevalent issue.

Workers aren’t too nice. The older man shows disrespect as soon as you walk in the door. If you give him any attitude back he loses it

Its been my favorite course since I moved to Portage about 17 years ago.

What a beautiful place right in the middle of a town. Not far from the park where you can drop the kids and wife off...or just the kids. The course is well maintained and the crew is always out fixing it up. Definitely worth stopping in and trying 9 but guarantee youll do a full 18 by the end of it. I enjoy the course and it’s well maintained. But last time I was there one of the grounds managers kept popping in on my brother and I and it was very distracting and unnecessary as we weren’t holding anything up or causing any problems. This man also heckled me on the very first Tee box while trying to drive and while he I’m sure he meant it as lighthearted humor, I was not amused and it was very unprofessional as I paid good money to golf in peace and his behavior kind of ruined set a poor tone for our entire round.

Myself and another ran into some particularly unpleasant individuals during our first experience on the course. The clubhouse manager quickly mediated the situation and we finished the rest of our round with a smile. Both the course and management were exceptional!

Very nice municipal golf course. They do a good job of maintaining the course, although the greens seem much faster this year. Im learning to like the fact they swapped the front & back 9s this year. The old 1st hole was always a really tough way to start. Be prepared to keep moving through the course as they enforce time limits. The pro shop is well stocked.

Such a fun, reasonably placed course to play a round of golf at!! Give it a shot and bring the kids!

Excellent, difficult course. Lots of sand and trees so its unforgiving if you have issues driving.

If you wanna go golfing and cant afford that country club fee, this is the perfect place to be. I go there mostly to hit on the range, but they keep their greens and fairways nice and for the low price you cant beat it. The pro shop is always nice inside and the staff is the best, Highly Recommended if your in the Kalamazoo/Portage area.

This is not Augusta, or Pebble Beach but it is a good golf course for the average golfer. I play here often. The course is well kept, the staff is friendly and the beer is cold. It is a good value for the price.

We love this club. Beautiful and well maintained. Played late in the day July 4th and the staff couldnt have been nicer even though Im sure they wanted to get home.

Tough and challenging local public golf course. All the tee boxes have grass and the facilities are well maintained. Definitely one of the better golf courses around. Many holes require drives in the fairway or you will be OB. Putting greens are very challenging.

I loved this course when I went here with my dad a year back, still love it today; great course for someone looking to get out and play a course that has good course management and isnt too hard at the same time. I decided to go yesterday and wasnt pleased. Im 17 years of age, on their website, it says that 18 holes of golf is $15 and a push cart is $3 for 18, and when I had called them, they said that it would be $18 total, a dollar per hole (I called to double check as this course isnt close to me, I didnt want to drive out to find out it was more). When I arrived, They asked me for $25.. The man said that his POS said that senior rates and 17- has always been $22 and $3 for the push cart even though when I called, that wasnt the case. Played 9 and got exhausted from the warm weather, so I went back in and talked to the same guy and told him that he overcharged me and that his website (I looked it up on the 9th hole) says I should be paying $18. I asked if I could instead get a golf cart for the back 9 instead of getting my $5 refund. He claimed that since I was 17, I could not have a cart since Im a liability (I have my drivers license). There is no rule posted anywhere in the clubhouse OR online that 17- can not drive carts. I asked for my $5 dollars back since it wasnt possible, he rolls his eyes and literally shoves the $5 bill in my face. The younger staff members were looking at me like they felt bad but were too afraid to say anything. Great course, awful staff member. Completely ruined my experience and probably wont ever come back.

Nice public golf track that is usually in great shape. Pace of play can be an issue as its usually packed but a great place to play if your in the area.

I slipped on the practice green.... The humiliation

Played this course over the weekend. First off, the course was in pretty good shape considering how starved for rain weve been this year. Layout is a little weird and definitely requires keeping your eyes and ears open as several holes intersect and can result in balls coming close to other players.Nothing overly challenging for novice golfers but enough variety to keep the day interesting and fun.However, service leaves a lot to be desired and is why I wont be back. Booked three tee times for mid-morning meaning we hit the turn right at noon. When our first group got inside there were two hot dogs on the roller so each person who wanted to buy a quick hot dog and a beer or a Powerade had to wait for them to cook.As were waiting for our food one of the regulars mentioned it was starting to back up inside and the club house manager replied yeah these guys are in here buying hot dogs and stuff and its holding everything up.I guess we were in the wrong for wanting to buy stuff form the clubhouse. It was nearly 90 degrees out and since there was no cart girl/boy on the course this was one of our only chance to get food or get hydrated.There were water coolers on every 4th or 5th hole, but they were not refilled during the day so a couple were nearly empty after 1 p.m. Terrible service that was far below what we received at a different course the day before for the same $44 green fee.

Golf was good. Nice course, but the workers were really rude and treated us like we were stupid. Had a group of 13 people for an event. At the turn were yelled at for coming in to get a hot dog and drink. Will not be going back because of poor service
