I loved my experience at Color and Cocktails. The atmosphere at the studio is fun and relaxing and a place to enjoy your time. I came in with little to no experience with painting. Lauren asked the group to Google pictures of what they may want to create. Lauren sat down and offered suggestions when I felt stuck. Also, she sat down and helped incorporate some really creative ideas that really helped some of the design really pop.Her patience and talent are valuable. She creates a safe place for anyone to create and feel safe to express their talents.I would highly recommend Colors and Cocktails for a great Girls Night Out or a day out with the family. Dont forget she offers classes via Zoom so people around the country can have a party together. Great for those friends that are separated by distance but can paint together.

I attended a Colors and Cocktails fund raising event for a non profit and had an absolutely delightful time. I came home with a matching pair of beautiful hand painted wine glasses that I use on a regular basis! I would highly recommend Colors and Cocktails for many occasions with your significant other, families of a group of girlfriends. Lauren is talented, fun and engaging!!

Pros: Lots of beautiful photography (primarily international destinations) for sale, very reasonably priced. There is also a staff artwork exhibition on display! The art studio concept is intriguing, something the Kalamazoo Mall was lacking until now. This business is new to the Mall and I hope they find great success in their new location!Cons: The store smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which was very off-putting. The owner was quite chatty, and overwhelmed me with information as soon as I walked in. I was barely given a few minutes to browse in peace. I definitely would have preferred to have the opportunity to browse quietly and ask questions as needed.Overall, I will personally not be returning to this store. I did not like the vibe (cluttered items displayed on a card table, etc.) and didn’t like being pestered by the proprietor. However, I would recommend at least one visit if you want to buy photography and support a local artist!

I love that every time I take a class with Colors & Cocktails it’s a new experience. The team is helpful and talented. I was even able to buy a few gifts for upcoming events!

This place is SO cool! There are lots of bright colors and creativity everywhere you look. All types of different glassware to paint and canvases galore. The owner is so nice and has coffee, tea, and sparkling flavored waters available. I felt comfortable immediately in this space and had so much fun!
