Echo Valley is a fun experience for the family. The negative reviews are somewhat valid but you can’t expect the world every time. The cost is $20 a person now and they still do not accept cards. Cash only here. Inconvenient...yes. We knew ahead of time so we came prepared. As far as the runs, the toboggan was great. Three lanes open. The tube run was great as well. There is certainly some updating needed here but overall it was worth the money. My kids loved it. You can stay as long as you want so it’s up to you what your money is worth.
Ive been going here for 30 years, and it seems to be going downhill each year, little by little. I know the last few years havent had much snow or super cold temps, but there are a lot of things that are worn and dated. Each time I have come in probably the last 4 years there has been no ice skating. They promote it, but no rink, not really sure why. Usually there is only one, maybe 2 toboggan lanes running. Tubing is generally running and does well. The lodge was alright, had some snack foods for typical recreational venue prices, not much for heat tho, even on a warmer day it was pretty cold in there. The pull rope to help get back up hill is pretty worn and sags to the grown and drags the ground. It looks aged for sure, but when things are running you can still have fun! Lots of memories I have of this place and miss them! Wish they could open up skating and more toboggan lanes. Would love to see this place packed again!
Overall, the experience was fun at Echo Valley, but, for the $20 per person ticket, it was a bit much considering they only had one toboggan hill open for the large number of people that were visiting. For first-timers though, it was lots of fun! The tubing hill was pretty long, but I was expecting it to be a little longer considering the wait we had to go through to go down it. In all, the experience was great and will likely go back in the future. 5 stars in the future if the price goes down a bit, or more slides are open!
Was looking forward to a day of tubing but left severely disappointed. For $20 a person we were expecting much more than one dinky hill. How can they charge full price, when the toboggan hill isnt even open? They also mention a clubhouse but that seemed to be closed when we were there. The employees were all very nice and helpful. Overall a fun experience, but surely not worth $20. Will not be back.
Smaller than most places but the kids absolutely loved it. Will be back
So for $ 20 dollars a person to ride one time sledding and one time tobaggon wad a complete rip off. So many people there and long lines not enough staff. I brought this up to the guy and he wanted to argue saying they had 6 call offs asked him if he thought it was worth the 40 dollars I paid. They are greedy in my opinion and dont care
Good time... place is a little beat up but kid had a blast.
Great little place to bring your family.
Fun but pricey for the facilities.
Family friendly fun environment for all, they are cash-only
Alot of fun! Workers did a great job! So glad we made the 2 hour trip to go.
I really wanted to give this place a good review (since I used to work there), Im finding it difficult considering the price. 18 dollars a head regardless of age seems a bit much. So as my family of 4 walk in, hand over 72 dollars, youd think they could afford to cover the bare wires at the ticket gate. 25 years ago, this is exactly what this place looked like. Which is neat since they kinda pump the nostalgia factor, but id wager a bet and say they havent even painted the clubhouse since the 90s.
This is something I recommended at least once however it is incredibly expensive for a couple thrills. Im glad this kind of place still is around and doing well.
Clearly a misprint on the webpage at 20$. No way they charge more than 5$ a person for this little dump. Its poorly maintained, and half of it is never open. Apparently, they also cant afford the 10$, or 2% it costs to get a Square card reader for purchases, despite gouging customers for 4 times more than the place is worth. Youd have to have zero respect for yourself to give these weasels your money.
I didnt think it was worth the $18. You would have to go down the slides over 20 times to get your monies worth, most people dont. But the kids did enjoy it for the short amount of time they were there.
Great winter fun! Tubing and tobogganing on some local hills. Staff is courteous and friendly. They even have a tow rope to help with the worst part, walking up hill!
It was so cold in the lounge not really enjoyed
I personally work here every year during the winter, its very fun, and i enjoy the job. if I want to see me im down at the tobaggon hill
Great place for kids to burn off excess energy
This place is so much fun for adults and kids alike! There is plenty of adrenaline to be had on the awesome toboggan runs and even on the tube hill. I have been going every year since I moved to MI 14 years ago, and will certainly keep coming back. The best thing about Echo Valley in my opinion is its overall ambiance and atmosphere. The lodge reminds me of simpler times when life wasnt so corporate and complicated because it IS from those times! Lots of history to be had and experienced there! If you want luxury, go elsewhere. If you want a great time without burdensome rules (want to tube or toboggan backward, or tube with someone riding on top of you?), come here and escape todays complicated world!!! They are SAFE and certainly fun!
Kids had a blast.
Havent been, but wanted too, drove there and only takes cash. Come on folks, only cash in the age of technology!? At least get one of these things that plug into a cell phone and the customer pays the fee for using it. Company pays nothing!
So not worth the $18 per person. Only had 1 toboggan run open with long lines. The tube hill you only go about 30 yards and thats all also with long lines. If they are going to charge so much they really need to update. I will not be going back and will not recommend this place. Would have had more fun sledding on a city Park hill and a hell of alot cheaper
This place is super fun for young kids! Can tube and toboggan from opening to closing time and the concession stand is well ran the drinks are self serve and its all great prices!!
Don’t go until they fix the Tobaggon run. As the previous reviewer posted, the runs have large holes and bumps at the end of the run. This lack of maintenance and thin piece of metal used as sled caused a painful tailbone injury and back pain for the members of our group.Yes I know use at your own risk. But after several riders complained, the tubing operator told us “we know it’s bad and we tried to fix it”. It is unethical to continue to run a ride that knowingly will injure your customers.Otherwise it’s a family owned small hill cash only business. Tubing is ok good for small children, but not worth driving far unless you happen to be in the area.
Only two toboggan runs open- one was too bumpy to ride (i.e. painful!!). Long lines.Bathroom faucets don’t have hot water. Nothing like coming in from the cold and having only ice cold water to wash after using the bathroom.Place accepts only cash (how nice for them!).Will never come back nor recommend.
It is a fun place but when I went down the tabogan after the drop there a group a decent size bumbs which when we hit them it really hurt my but(needs pads on the tabogan sled or fix the numb then it would be 4 or 5 stars
Fun, long-established and family-oriented winter recreation area.
An ok place, not really worth the price of addmission, money would be better spent at the ski slopes
Having great fun kids love that place
Tobagan run is fast and lots of fun!
Great place for family fun!
The toboggan is always fun!
Long wait on tubes but overall good.
This place has not made any improvements in the last 30 years. Plastic instead of the wood toboggans make the ride horrible.
20 dollars per person is a joke.
Very nice place to have fun
So much fun for all ages
Winter fun!!!
Lines are very slow
Love this place.
Fun place!
