Updated review 2/16/219:VIP tickets for the UB40 concert with Josh Tatofi and Katchafire as opening guest musicians.Josh Tatofi and his crew were incredibly talented with several tunes of various genres! Such a beautiful voice and great musicians. I would definitely pay to see them perform again.Katchafire came from New Zealand and were very disappointing. Every song sounded like the one before and it all seemed like a loud blur. The biggest disappointment was UB40. We all waited 45 minutes for the band to set up, only to hear a loud blur of noise and echo. Not a single song was recognizable. We left early, as did our friends. We stayed through rain and instrument changes, paid $100 extra for each of us for VIP tickets, only for a dud of a concert. Not worth it and never again. The venue is nice, lots of security, helpful staff and good food, although overpriced beverages.Parking cost is atrocious. $25 in the MACC parking lot and $10 in every overflow parking lot. Money making opportunities for the MACC at every turn. A bit much.2017:We started out the year with Kris Kristofferson and a surprise guest performance by Willie Nelson and just enjoyed The California Honey Drops and Bonnie Raitt!! Beautiful Venue, well organized and perfect weather!

Maui arts and cultural center is a complex of event and theater venues. The Castle theater is the premiere theater venue on Maui. Great seating throughout except if you are plus size the seats are not forgiving. The McCoy theater is a smaller venue also very nice, the same seating. The amphitheater is on a great grassy incline so everyone can see the stage. There are also smaller rooms and galleries in the complex.

They could have more food trucks to accommodate the crowd but The Pirate Nani pulled through with great food for the 30 minute wait and another 30 minutes until it was ready they where really working there buts off and I saw a lot of inpatient customers.Over all I recommend checking the MACC out great family atmosphere.Big mahalo to Pirate Nani for some Quality food under choke pressure, and the people who made it fun to wait in line.

This is a very nice performing arts center. I have been to 3 shows here. The seating in the small theater was comfortable and there wasnt a bad seat in the house. I also enjoyed seeing a performance on the outdoor stage, lovely setting. My one complaint is ticket prices, service fees, and the website to obtain tickets. The charges are high and fees on top of that.

This venue is a great place to go if you want to have a stuffy, uptight night out. I’ve been to 5 concerts here. 2 in the theater and 3 outside. I can say with confidence that I will not be spending any money here again. The venue is unorganized and stuffy. It seems as though they frown upon fun. From long box office lines (only 2 people max at the box office) unorganized, unnecessary lines to get in, no dancing, no standing at seats (with a 14 person rock band playing) the overall mood is a total buzz kill! I would much rather pay more money to go to the mainland to see shows!Every time I leave MAC I’m disappointed by the venue, so never again!!!

Im going to give a 5-star rating despite the disturbance that occurs. The only thing bad I can say about the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, is that SOME of the patrons arent as respectful to others as they should be.They have the sweetest group of retirees volunteering there, and if you let one of them know about a disturbance they are very quick to getting it resolved. Some food for thought - treat everyone with the same respect and dignity you would your own grandmother.

Ive never been so embarrassed and humiliated as I was by Christina Medley, the house manager at MACC. I live on Oahu and had free tickets to the Mayjah Rayjah at Aloha Stadium but decided it would be fun to plan a mini vacay on Maui and attend Mayjah Rayjah at this outdoor venue. I bought tickets for both nights since its a 2 day concert and purchased a bunch of scrips the first night for food and drinks. Nobody selling scrips mentioned they are only good for one night so when our $50 in scrips were no good the second night at the same event, I was really sad. The people selling scrips felt bad and said I should talk to box office to see if they would trade them in. I am a single mom, dont have money to throw away and so I figured it was worth at least asking. I really just wanted to enjoy the show, not get shuffled through multiple people just to ask if I could trade scrips in. They finally brought Christina in. She said she was sorry that I didnt agree w the policies and there was nothing she could do. I explained how it was really a bummer how my scrips purchased at a two day event were only good one night and how I went out of my way to check out the Maui venue and I felt robbed. I asked her if I should keep the scrips to which she said there may be a concert where they use that color scrips in six months but she doesnt really know. I said I live on Oahu, that doesnt really help me. I was feeling so taken by the policy I mentioned that I felt like I might as well have just burned my $50 and she said I can take those for you if its such an inconvenience as she TOOK the scrips right out of my hands! I said, in the calmest voice, no thank you, Ill hold onto them, its fine, Im just really bummed and will go back in and enjoy the show but this feels so frickin wrong. To which she asked if that was my friend standing behind me I said yes and she said He can either escort you out of here, or I can have security escort you out. There were at least two other women standing around us who worked for the venue that witnessed the exchange. I never raised my voice or got excited once. I listened and watched Christinas body language from the start of the convo. It was flight or fight mode. Her voice was shaky from the beginning and you could tell she was irritated that she had to have the conversation about the scrips. There was not one ounce of Aloha in this womans body. If she was simply friendly or empathetic about the situation at all, none of this would have happened. Never once did she thank me for choosing the venue over my home venue, try to make me feel better about the situation or anything. She was cold as they come with an attitude of superiority and even a fearful energy from the very beginning. She turned a conversation into a confrontation that ended up with her going into fight mode, flexing her authority because she lacks problem solving and people skills and couldnt figure out what to do besides kick out a single mom, working three jobs as a substitute teacher, a yoga teacher and manager at a local sandwich shop from a REGGAE show on Maui. I was so upset and embarrassed that myself and my boyfriend were forced to leave the show that I broke down in tears outside the venue. Ive been going to concerts my entire life, Ive been to hundreds of shows and NEVER have I ever been treated so poorly. I work in customer service and if I ever treated a customer the way Christina Medley treated me that night, I probably would have been fired and thats over a $10 sandwich let alone $200 in concert tix on a neighbor island. I will prob NEVER attend this venue again and continue to tell everyone who mentions this venue how awful I was treated over something anyone can agree is a ridiculous, unfair, policy. Its been months since the event and I had to finally get this off my chest as much as I was trying to just let it go. Mahalo for listening MACC you can do better.

Great place to meet new people with similar interests. Of course the entertainment was awesome. Theatre is clean and well lit as are the bathrooms. Easy access for wheelchairs and walkers.
