It was a very nice time! Clean, relaxing, and very respectable staff! My girlfriend and I came up for a wedding and stayed there for the two nice and it was a great time. Very beautiful stay, amazing history, and above all; great service! Only downside is the tv quality and the internet/service.
Kinda old. Bride had to clean her dress from marks on floor and just looked run down. I asked for more bread 3 times and the soda was flat. Also the garlic herb mashed potatoes were sweet like sugar got mistaken for salt. When asked they said yeah they were supposed to be this way. They must make all there money on golf. I have done several banquets and this one was unique.
Nice little very clean hotel. Amazing staff. Very disappointed with a breakfast, I understand its not time to serve hot breakfast, but we take four rooms, and no one else was in hotel, can be something better than bottle of water and cereal bar.
Unfortunately because of the covid restrictions I was unable to utilize most of the rooms and services including breakfast. Staff was accommodating and hotel was clean.
Nice place to stay and centrally locatedRent a partybus from T n Z transportation and go on a wine / beer / distllery tour. Or to Dinner and tioga downs casino. Also play a little golf right outside your hotel.
This stay was amazing! The staff were friendly and talked to you. The spa was everything I had ever dreamed of and the staff there were very friendly and polite. The atmosphere was very calming. The only issue I had, which was no ones fault, was the air conditioning shut off on the last day of me being there. Probably due to the outside being so hot. The grounds are beautiful, the bulding is beautiful, the beds are heavenly and the showers are amazing I give this place a 15/10. Would highly recommend.
My dad and I played the course. It was a good layout, we thought the fairways were rough on some of the holes and on the front, if you got above the hole, no way to get the ball close.
Very good service, my masseuse Jesse did so well Ive never felt more relaxed. Theyre very welcoming and you really do get the full spa experience. The only downside I would say is that because of the pandemic you have to wear your mask so it was a little hard to fully relax, but besides that excellent service.
For a first time stay at this hotel it was really nice. The view around the hotel is nice the staff are awesome. I even tried the salt sanctuary for 50 mins felt like I been sleeping for longer then that.Totally gunna recommend to friends and family.
Excellent service and friendly staff, clean, one dinner at the tavern was very tasty, breakfast (included) was fantastic with omelet made to your choice. Great quiet place to stay for sure! We also played golf while there at the challenging course.
Nice quiet place. has a spa and a golf course. a lot of history to the place.
This is about the golf course, and the director of golf. I’ve been playing golf a long time, and I have NEVER had an experience this poor on a golf course. There was a stretch during this season where I would play Traditions once a week, now I will never return.I had reserved an 845AM tee time on a Sunday. Pace of play was a little slow, but that’s to be expected on a weekend on a busy day. What’s not expected is to have a large tournament event, with a shotgun start, to start 3 hours after your tee time. We got to the 17th hole to see 4 different groups waiting to tee off. All 4 of these groups were paying customers from the morning tee times. There was a group from this tourney teeing off, and another group from the tourney was on the fairway, while one more group was on the green. After playing 16 holes in around 3 hours, I estimated it would’ve taken another 1 1/2 to 2 hours to play the last 2 holes. Which is just ridiculous. The group directly in front of us voiced their displeasure with the course and left without finishing. My group decided to do the same. The situation basically made the last two holes unplayable. No one wants to spend that long to play two holes. As we drove off, I noticed the group behind us also drove off as well. That’s a lot of paying golfers not finishing the round of golf they paid for, and who knows how many more groups left.I decided to go into the pro shop to voice my concerns with what happened. First, the pro shop attendant got very argumentative, offered zero apologies, and zero compensation of any kind. My family and I play this course a lot, and I am familiar with the director of golf, Brandan, so I asked to speak with him. He came to the clubhouse, told me that he “had a lot more important things to be doing” -(this is a direct quote, and an absolutely terrible way to talk to a customer), and proceeded to act like there was nothing wrong with the situation. Again, offering zero apology for us being unable to finish our round of golf. I honestly would’ve been appeased with an apology, and maybe a $10 gift card or something. GOOD customer service, would’ve been to offer a 9 hole rain check and a sincere apology. The fact that this was a nice, sunny, beautiful day to play golf, and at least 3 entire groups of golfers did not finish their round, means there was a massive problem with how things were run on this day. If you want a tournament to take priority over normal weekend tee times, then you need to make sure those people are informed about the situation before happily taking their reservation in advance, and their money. Of, better yet, do not reserve tee times that will certainly be interrupted by the tourney. We were never told about this tournament at all. If sending out the tournament ahead of the morning wave was a last minute decision, it was a bad one. If there was no other options, then you need to make it right with the customers that were unable to finish their round. I have never left a golf course with such a sour taste in my mouth, and I cannot remember ever seeing such awful customer service.
I’m giving the spa a 2 star because I loved the massage and the girl. She was very good. As for the rest. I was embarrassed for our area! 1 shower was working out of 3 and the only one working had no water pressure and if you tried to turn it up it was scalding. Thank goodness a lady warned me about it before I got in. There is absolutely no privacy and the products that were left for the customers to use were less than good. There was 1 comb left that was wrapped to use, obviously no one is checking on the bathroom. Also I asked for a product that was on the shelf and they were out of the one I wanted. The girl at the desk said all they had was on the shelf. Not very interested in that either. Someone should keep track of what they need, in this case it was a large coconut body lotion. You could have made a sale. I hate to think what people who are from out of town and want a great spa day to have to get this shabby spa.
Great place to stay. Alittle dated but the service was amazing. Breakfast was a treat!
This place is spectacular! Very clean and Sanitary! The service is second to none..... My experience in the salt cave was uplifting and invigorating. The tranquility of the salt infusion will leave your respiratory system feeling relief, your skin feeling soft, smooth, and replenished giving you a uplifted rejuvenating feeling for the rest of your week. Thanks Traditions for the wonderful experience!
This review is for the spa only..My wife and I booked a couples massage, after a long week we were really looking forward to this. This is our second time here. We were not disappointed. .very clean, staff was very warm and professional. Birdie and Amber were our massage therapists..they were excellent. I have a shoulder injury and Birdie was extremely careful not to put me in ANY discomfort. It was a very relaxing atmosphere. We will be back and we will be asking for these two ladies again. Thank you for a little bit of heaven on earth experience.
I got the Restore Package which is a salt sanctuary visit, massage, mani and pedi. The massage therapist, Brad, was very professional and gave an amazing massage. The best massage Ive ever had! Just the right amount of pressure! For being 38 weeks pregnant at the time he was able to make me feel so relaxed and comfortable, very impressed. The mani and pedi were also amazing. Lea was great to talk to and also did an awesome job on my nails and I felt very well taken care of. Thank you so much! I needed that day of relaxation. I left very happy!! :)
Was very happy with hair care services and a nail service a received!!! The staff were all super friendly!!! The facility is gorgeous and very well maintained!!! I also booked a couples massage for myself and husband and a separate one for my mom and dad and all were amazing! My mom and dad are from IL and they loved it!!!! Highly recommended!!!
We booked a suite and were unhappy with the old, creaky floors. It was difficult to fall asleep when folks next door were simply waking around. The second night of our stay an event was being held below our room and was so loud and booming with bass we asked to move. We asked and were moved to a regular room in order to have some quiet. The property is in need of updating. The older gentleman who helped with breakfast was very nice and made our stay pleasant.
The spa is fantastic. Great atmosphere and service. I had a spa pedicure with my husband before leaving for vacation and everyone gave us the royal treatment. Its always a great treat. Cant wait to try more services.
Room was 81 degrees. Staff never warned us there was a problem with the A/C. We had to go I ut looking for a hotel at 10pm
Amazing experience went today for my first ever massage extremely satisfying and exceeding expectations. I was a little shy to do it but the therapist Michelle Swan made me feel very comfortable and happy. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Very personable staff I did the 60 min full body and it seemed like it lasted a long time well worth 95 bucks. I felt like I had much more energy afterwards. I definitely would recommend this to anyone. I want to start going back once a month.
My family and I attended our nieces wedding reception in the tent at Traditions on 10/19/19. What a disappointment! Our waiter (when we could find him) had on a filthy uniform and was clearly unhappy. We had to ask for water, coffee, cake --we were a lucky table in that we got a piece of the cake. A staff member threw the cookie favors onto our table, and dinner took over 2 hours. Definitely an understaffed event. Unfortunately, there was not enough heat on that chilly night as the sides of the tent were open and there were insufficient heaters. For a venue that bills itself as premiere we expected much better. It is truly heartbreaking to hear my niece and her husband voice their disappointments over what should have been a flawless evening. We were not impressed and truthfully, will not recommend Traditions to anyone we know.
This is related to the spa at Traditions only and not the hotel. Once again, I have zero regrets about visiting the spa here. The atmosphere and calm and wonderful, the staff are helpful and friendly, and what to say about the massages, hair and nail care available... its amazing. It really is a great experience and truly does help to feel more calm. I would highly recommend people go here for when they need a massage, hair or nail care.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was just perfect to start the day it had a nice variety. The hotel sat in a nice secluded area away from traffic.
What a delightful place to see and experience. The grounds are stunning and then you walk into the spa. Beautiful!!! You check in and then the all about you starts to happen. Let them know you would the fluffy robe and sandals. My sister and I both had facials done for us. Such a wonderful experience. The woman who did my facial was kind, gentle and funny. They offer you many libation options. I chose the mimosa and it was delicious. We sat down in a subtly lit relaxing room to finish our drinks and then off to change back into street clothes. The changing room offered fully stocked rainhead showers. Fluffy towels to dry off with and a full assortment of things you might need to get back on your way. This was the first time I have had this service done for me and it was delightful. Cant say enough about the wonderful historical info in the lobby and beautiful grounds. Plenty of site parking and easy access for all. If you get the chance, I would not hesitate to put this on a to-do list for yourself.
Upon check in we were told there was a wedding and The Tavern was closed until 6:30. We were not told that the music would be unbelievably loud in our room. We almost left at 9:30 because it was so bad. I dont think booking online should excuse a business from providing a quiet hotel room. We wont be back, especially after your response.
This is an historic property and the grounds and location are beautiful. However, the hotel could use an update—new carpeting, attention to nicks and dings on furniture and woodwork. It all felt a bit tired. The bed was very comfortable. Please also provide guests with better coffee supplies instead of those awful packets with dry creamer and sweet low. Housekeeping did not service our room one day of our stay. Front desk staff were wonderful. We enjoyed the bar and Fylan making us his specialty drink.
Very nice and clean.Staff is very helpful and polite.
The twin room had two queen or king sized beds, so that there was hardly any room to move around. One of the things that attracted me to the hotel was the picture of the main dining room, but that was not available during our stay, and the auxiliary dining room had two TVs going. At breakfast, we asked that the loudest one be turned off, but the caretaker declined, saying that someone else might want it on (there was no one else there at the time, and no one else came while we were there). All in all, far from an elegant place to stay.
Great views. Comfortable Covid accommodations.
Beautiful facility. Very nice rooms. Staff were the best
Very relaxing, loved the infrared sauna
We visited the Spa at this place some time ago. We had a very positive experience. The staff was very friendly and outgoing - a def 5-star service... its very clean and well maintained, the lockers and the shower/steam-rooms look like new. The salt cave is a must do!
Clean hotel and a little oasis away from dropping our freshman off as Binghamton University.
Very nice, comfortable accommodations. Beautiful property, friendly staff. Only stayed one night. Maybe more next time.
I love this golf course. But, there is a big caveat.I guess it depends on ones golfing ability, but their 1st cut off the fairway is too long.If you miss the fairway by 6, its very difficult to locate your ball because the grass is taller than the balls diameter.Very, very frustrating.I guess the answer is to be better at golf... I mean, lets face it, we all want to play better, right?!
Not good experiance The manicure lasted 2 days the massage therapist bruised my leg n salt cave was not on fully after salt spa no towels offered so I can shower
First time Ive been here since this was the IBM Homestead...great views and trails, rooms are a tad small but nicely equipped. Great public areas! Excellent value!
Nice place, wildly expensive. Only stayed for one night in a king sized room. Pretty small as the bed took up most of it, clean though, functioning bathroom and all. However we had to pay extra, on top of the 95 for everything else. They wanted 12 dollars per person for breakfast. We got breakfast down the road at a nice Cafe (which totalled to less than 12 per person).
The morning sunset was marvelous as was the super yummy breakfast. The staff was friendly. Loved the fire going in the library room.
My 1st time in a salt cave...AMAZING! The staff welcomed you gracefully calming & treats you w/kid-gloves. I Highly Recommend it!
Nice place to stay. Friendly staff.
Everyone we spoke with in the hotel and the spa were so nice, accommodating and happy to answer all our questions. It was a wonderful stay and all the pampering we could have hoped for.
My visit was to the Spa only on Sunday, July 7, 2019. I have booked massages with this facility in the past. From the moment I walked in to when I left, the experience was fabulous. I was greeted by a receptionist who was very nice and accommodating. The facility was clean and more importantly the massage was wonderful.
Positive: Secluded location, off the beaten path. Friendly staff. On-sight spa services. Negative: Parking could have been closer to the front door. TV did not work. Bedding was a bit light for the winter months, although the room was warm enough.
I really wanted to love this place, but.... I couldnt. The site is wonderful as it overlooks the valley and certainly has a good deal of local history (why we chose it) but the service is not up to standards. I held a small reception there and was not impressed with the sales staff beforehand- as it took multiple, rather confusing emails to finalize arrangements nor the staff on the event day. The servers acted like they had never served a luncheon before, took forever to get initial beverages poured, and most disturbing was that one guest had a special meal for medical reasons and I specifically asked to have this handled discreetly- but the server announced it loudly at the table; both embarrassing the guest and making public an otherwise undisclosed condition. Granted our event was quite small, I wasnt dropping $$$ on a wedding, but the overall impression I got was that the establishment is resting on the laurels of the site rather than operating as a first class, full service resort.
Only ever use this spa, & refer everyone I can to here! Impeccable service and staffWell worth it!! PLEASE
We stayed three nights to attend a family members wedding reception. This is a quaint hotel, mid 1930s or 40s historic, nicely kept with spectacular grounds including a lengthy walking trail and beautiful views. The rooms are cozy and bathrooms have a tub/shower combo with plenty of sink counter space. The breakfast is delicious with options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. They do hold events sometimes (like wedding receptions) during the weekends which can last up until 10pm, and might bother some guests, so make sure you ask about that and perhaps a room away from the noise. The ballroom was beautifully decorated with ample space and seating, and hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. This was a lovely place to visit and stay.
Very clean, and staff very attentive. Best massage my wife and I ever got.
Great breskfast. Room was fine. Bed very comfortable.
Beautiful, clean, serene. Amazing staff, great breakfast
Very good location, quiet and relaxing. Would recommend it highly
Went to the spa for a shellac manicure. It was a wonderful experience. I was nervous because I had never had a mani before but Lea was great about that! She walked me through the process and made my time there very comfortable. I will absolutely be going back!
Clean, very good location and the Spa was very nice. My wife and I had a couples Massage and it was great.
One night stay. Great condition. Great breakfast. Clean, quiet, friendly. Great price
Nice little secluded spot and the hotel has cool history. Rooms a little small but fine.
Nice view. Rooms were well maintained and clean. A bit smaller than expected. Staff very friendly.
The salt spa was super cool. I didnt even know about it until my aunt happened across a Groupon thing advertising for it.
Amazing open space, great buildings, very nice rooms. Service was excellent despite their being no food served on Monday due to the dinner room being booked, meaning we had to drive down the road for dinner. Trevor found solutions to resolve some WiFi issues & a lack of an ice-bucket in the room. The range of liquid soaps sold at the Spa (and in every shower/bathroom) are excellent, so pick some up.
I go here for meetings for my work. The food for lunch was kinda dry and not much flavor. The staff could be friendlier.
Staff was excellent - very kind, friendly, and helpful. The room was lovely. The food was good. We booked the sweet and salty package and our hour in the salt cave was super relaxing. We will definitely be back for another Traditions adventure.
Love it!! So good to me!!
Helpful professional staff, food was awesome .. look forward to my next visit !
We have enjoyed staying at Traditions several times. The first time was in 2010, and have stayed here several times since then. I find the beds very comfortable and the staff caring and helpful.
Good location with excellent views. Rooms were clean but could use some minor updating. For example my shower faucet had was showing signs of wear as did the hallway carpet in some places. Check in took a lot longer than it should have due to receptionist being missing in action. Still the good far outweighed the bad..
I just wanted to follow up with a quick note to Nikki and all the staff at the Hotel and Jeannie and her catering staff. My wife and I had our son and future daughter-in -laws rehearsal dinner at the hotel and we could not have been happier with the professional service we received. The bride and her attendants stayed at the hotel to get ready for the Wedding, all went exceptionally well!We had reserved a number of rooms for after the wedding reception and even thru the fire alarm Nikkie made sure we were all secure. What a great time we had and thank the staff for all the helpful service.
Food is good, and a nice place to gather if you have a big group.
Wonderful service, received discounts and gifts for my birthday at hair salon.
Beautiful place... clean,neat.. Beautiful for weddings.. all for Kelly she is great!!!!!
Fantastic facility. Nice rooms and beautiful Golf Course. Staff does a fantastic job.
So disappointed in the Mothers Day brunch. We love the Sunday brunch normally but on Mothers day there is less food options then normal and is mediocre at best. Calling it a brunch is laughable as there was almost no breakfast food.Oh by the way who has the AC on when it is 40° outside. To be fair go to Traditions for any other brunch then Mothers Day it is awesome.
Trevor at the front desk help us out quite a bit and was always friendly.Ice machine near 2105 was frozen up twice in the 8 days were there. Had to go up to 2nd floor to get ice. Thank you Trevor. The room wasnt cleaned one day and Trevor brought extra towels.
The golf course needs some TLC. Layout is pretty interesting, but the fairways and tee boxes are full of crab grass.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Loved being able to stay in a room with a COMFORTABLE new bed, while having great food and a beautiful spa without any driving required. Was not expecting such a fantastic experience for this low cost.
Love the Salt Sanctuary! Very cool experience
Went to a wedding here, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The spaces are very well put together and very nice. It definitely added to the occasion
The rooms for over night stay are comfortable, the food is very good, Sunday Brunch is very good, the spa is very good as well. Great service, great staff. A great place for a get away, wedding, or just to come in for dinner, brunch or the spa.
Top notch spa and salon. Most relaxing place in the Southern Tier area.
We went for a fathers day buffet. It was an excellent value and the food was pretty good. The waitress was a little overwhelmed but nothing to detract from what was otherwise a good morning.
My daughter and son-in-law had their reception here in October. Please know that their claims on their website are erroneous. “...the Southern Tier’s premier wedding destination. We are a one-stop shop...ensuring everything is planned and personalized to your needs and expectations.” These claims were not backed up, in our experience. Although guests were largely unaware of issues, there were many! Too few servers, in dirty uniforms, made dinner service a 2 hour affair. The beautiful cake and artisan ice cream never made it to at least 1/3 of our guests, including my table. The cake that was served was pathetically small...typically one single layer about an inch wide from a cake that had four 4-layer tiers. Who knows what happened to any leftover ice cream. The heaters were not all working properly and we would have rented more had it been suggested those provided might not be enough or work properly. If it had not been for the amazing work of Katie Legg at Festivities Wedding and Event Planner, Rick Niznik of Mulberry & Fern, Terry Burke Sound & Audio, DJ John Adams and his wife Jill at the photo booth, Gabriella LoPicccolo of Gabriella’s Cakes, and Katie Peck of She Rents Vintage, the affair would have been merely mediocre. All of these wonderful vendors were hired by and paid by the couple, not Traditions. What Traditions will provide, for a five figure minimum, is the site, better chairs for an extra fee, food, and beverages. If you don’t have a fabulous coordinator, and if you haven’t mapped out every detail, you definitely will not have a “premier” experience and your expectations will only be met if they’re not very high. I did meet with the GM and 2 other staff to discuss our concerns with the hope that they will improve their service in the future. While there was some remuneration, I had very few answers(what happened to all that cake & ice cream) and have come away from the experience vowing never to hold another event there or recommend that anyone else should. UPDATE: I just saw a review here from a friend and the response from the GM, Vincent Sano, is inaccurate. As I said, I met with him and that meeting did not include a rave review nor any expression of gratitude from this couple for making their day special. The worst part of this experience was how truly disappointed both the bride and groom were about their one and only special day. It’s especially disappointing when there seems to be a lack of integrity.
Breakfast / Brunch buffet was very nice. Nice staff and always good food. A bit pricey, but the food is much better than other breakfast buffets, so to us, once in a while its worth the price
I spent an afternoon last Wed...started with a facial by Alexa which was wonderful. Then I had a pedicure and manicure by a n 18 year old girl. The pedicure was ok but she didnt remove obvious callous points. The manicure was the worse I have ever had. She used a stick and a worn emory board to remove gel polish and file nails. She didnt trim any of the dead skin around nails. The spa managetrattempted to explain reasoning..please I get manicures twice a month at salons which charge half the price.. Its a shame to charge such high prices for inadequate service. I used gift cards and thought it would be special!
We went there to meet family before going to my sons graduation. We had brunch there and I ordered an omelette and it was delicious.I thought service was good and then we left.
We arrived on New Years Day and were completely thrilled with the accommodations. The staff was friendly and welcoming, helpful and attentive- we ordered take out directly to our hotel room and the lovely girl at the front desk brought us utensils when our bag was empty. The room was clean and pristine, robes and slippers were provided and the shower pressure was fabtastic- the fireplace was a dream and we truly enjoyed out stay.We were the only customers at breakfast and they made us breakfast to order, everything was delicious! The entire place is still decorated for Christmas, trees and lights make everything look so charming. This would be a super sweet stay for a wedding.Loved it !
Well, I didnt actually stay at the hotel, however I did visit the spa. And let me tell you all that this is the place to go when you need some pampering. I try to get here at least once a month but my life is very busy. Best place ever .
Lovely views! Warm and friendly! Clean!
Great! I was happy to stay, I would like to visit again.
Nice location in a historic building for the area, right on the golf course. A better alternative to cookie-cutter chains on busy highways.
So pleased with the amazing level of customer service and care I received! The staff at Traditions hotel were nothing but accommodating during my stay.
Service was absolutely terrible. Completely understaffed. It was a friends wedding, and this place is not inexpensive. Food was cold. Couldnt find any waiters. Not a good experience.
My room is nice but the service is outstanding. The staff is more than attentive
Excellent resort.......Top Shelf! Staff is courteous and detail oriented
I had a great experience at Traditions. I have a 100 Minute hot stone with Chris and it was just what I needed. Great pressure and he zeroed in on where my problem areas were. It was great I would do it again for sure.
Traditions met all of our needs. The staff was very helpful and cheerful! The breakfast was amazing and our rooms clean and comfortable!
Thank you! This was my second visit, it was a good stay. Especially I loved the fireplace.Quiet space, nice & friendly staff, awesome breakfast are also my favorites!
Attended multiple events at this location, including dinner dances, weddings, and recruitment events. This venue is nice in appearance and cleanliness and the staff is very courteous. The food is usually good, though the have been some selections that Ive not been pleased with. Overall 4 out of 5 stars.
