WE MADE IT OUT!!!!!!Had a great time here, first time ever at an escape room and it did not disappoint, very challenging and the room was 90s themed, brougt back plenty of memories, while dancing to the 90s playing as you searched. At the end group photos were taken with props absolutely hilarious. Definitely recommend for group fun, we really loved it.

We did two rooms in January, Poe and Back to the 90s. We LOVED the Poe room. Definitely one of the best, if not THE best room weve done in this area. Well laid out, great puzzles, but definitely challenging enough to keep us on our toes. We didnt like the 90s room as much. They said that no prior knowledge was necessary to complete the room, and while it might not have been necessary, it definitely would have been helpful. There were lots of hints in the room that, if you were knowledgeable about things in the 90s, would definitely help you on your way and allow puzzles to be solved much faster. Unfortunately, my husband and I didnt know any of these things from the 90s, so we felt a little lost. Overall, I felt that the 90s room wasnt quite as well laid out and didnt flow as well as the Poe room. However, even though we did not like the 90s room nearly as much, I still gave 5 stars due to how much we liked the Poe room. Just as a reference point, we have done around 30 escape rooms total, so we have quite a bit of escape room experience. We cant wait to go back and do the Public School of Magic room!

I have now officially played every room at the Art of Escape and they are all incredible! We did Trapped in a Nightmare last night and it was fun, challenging, and extremely terrifying. Public School of Magic is my favorite room here, but Bring Back the 90’s, Poe, and Trapped were all great too! The owner and employees are extremely friendly and make the experience even better!

I have been twice and love it so much! Everyone I met there is so kind and makes it such a fun experience! The puzzles are so clever, and there is a lot of loving detail put into both rooms Ive played. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Just finished our second escape room here and we love it! The owner definitely knows what he is talking about and great at creating puzzles. Going to be back to do another very soon!!!

I went here on a date with my girlfriend, and tried their “public school of wizardry” room. And this was my first escape room experience! Me and my girlfriend both had so much fun finding clues, and ACTUALLY getting through our first room (with a little help of coarse) the staff was really friendly and they helped us out a lot with tips, and things like that. We felt like we walked into a totally different reality and had a lot of fun doing it. I totally recommend if you’re new to stuff like this to come here. And if you’re skeptical don’t be. It was totally worth it and I’m gonna be back with more people to do the other rooms for sure! If I could rate it any better I would :) thank you guys so much for the great experience it’s definitely something that should be on a bucket list.

The Public School of Magic was amazing! My wife and I have done several escape games and this one was probably one of our favorites. The puzzles were super interesting and it had a good story and theme. I highly recommend it!

Had a complete blast tonight! This is my 4th room in my 4th state. There were only 2 of us tonight so the challenge was intense... we did not escape! We plan on coming back next weekend, would 100% reccomend this place!

We just went tonight and conquered the “Public School of Magic.” It was an absolute blast and a great challenge. This place is a wonderful night out. Have dinner downtown and come visit. The staff is friendly and the rooms are unique.

I have done three different rooms and LOVED each one! The employees are awesome and the rooms are well-thought out. They really strive to make sure you have and awesome time!!!

I love this escape room! The people are great and the rooms are by far the best I have seen. I cant wait to do the potter themed room. Do yourselves a favor go to this escape room for fun and entertainment!

I absolutely love this place! The employees are super nice and the 2 escape rooms I have done there have been so much fun. Definitely worth the money!

We visited for a 90s themed escape room that was jam packed with puzzles and locks that kept us busy to the last minute. We were amazed at how well put together the rooms were with almost everything tying together for clues. The staff was so personable, the room was a blast, and the pictures at the end (with props) were the icing on the cake. We can’t wait to visit again!

My husband and I have played 3 games here so far and have loved every one of them! The rooms are inventive, the clues make sense, and the staff is incredible. Justin and Jenny are so welcoming and offer the perfect balance of helpful hints and letting you figure out things for yourself. We love The Art of Escape and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun evening out in Johnson City.

Back to the 90s was great. I highly recommend it. Great game and great staff.

The Art of Escape blew my mind just in the sheer time and effort they put into their games. A lot of escape rooms just purchase their rooms/props... but the owners actually create these games.Super cool setting in downtown Johnson City (which is getting even better by the day) and love the history of the building.Went here for my wives birthday with a couple close friends. Escape rooms are our thing when we get together. We LOVED “Bring Back the 90s” and we did escape. It was awesome.Almost as awesome as our celebration dances at the end!!

Been here multiple times, always a great experience. Highly highly recommend Bring Back the 90s and Poe.

We escaped the Poe room and it was amazing. Cant wait to do more!

Awesome rooms! People that work there are so nice! Defiantly will be coming back more!

This was a total blast. We are escape room junkies and this was one of the more challenging, fun, and creative experiences we have had.

I live the owner and family. So courteous, fun, friendly and accomodating. The rolm was a blast, very clever. I would reccomend this place to anyone. Perfect for fsmilies and groups.

The challenges in the Alice room were great, my oldest daughter and I had been to an escape room in MD a few yrs back and we greatly enjoyed it. My youngest went with us on this one. I live in Johnson City and it is one of those hidden gems. If you love thinking games then this is for you. The location in downtown is easy to find the owners and staff are great. I cant wait to do more of their rooms in the future

The staff here is awesome, and the escape rooms are clever and fun! Love it!

Was fun for the whole family, we did the Edgar Allan Poe room. The puzzles are fun and uses some thinking skills but the whole family worked together to get out.

Super fun room and the staff were amazing. Very clean and friendly.

Oh my gosh the people are amazing! My husband and I had a blast for our first time ever going to an escape room! They were very helpful and very good people! We will definitely be doing this again!

Did the 90’s room with a bunch of friends. It was super fun and you could tell they put in a lot of effort in to the clues.

This place is amazing! The staff is hands down the nicest I’ve ever encountered at an escape game. The 90s room is a MUST DO!!! Johnson City is so lucky to have this place. I can’t wait to come back!

I had so much fun doing the Poe escape room here! The owner is really fun and kind and makes the experience even better!

This place is the best escape room Ive been to by far. Very interactive. My friend and I loved it. Definitely will be going back.

Awesome puzzles and an even better time!!! It was my very first Escape Room and they didnt disappoint me!!!

Always a great time!!

It was so much fun with great rooms and nice people. Definetly would recamend.

Went with family and did the Alice themed escape room. We had a blast!! The guys do a great job with their escape room and my husband and I will definitely be back to do some other rooms.

Great staff. Had a blast in the 90s room. Note: Huge set of stairs to climb in case you have people unable to do so.

This was so much fun! Everyone is SOO nice and the escape game is awesome. You have to do the 90s room. I can’t wait to come back!

We had Girls Day Out here today. We did the Alice in Wonderland room and we had a blast. The guys were friendly and very helpful. We escaped with 3 minutes to spare. I highly recommend this establishment for some awesome, creative fun!! We will be back!Update: we went back today and did the Bring back the 90’s room. We had the best time. The staff are exceptional and I think they have the best escape rooms in the tricities!

It was my first time at an escape room and it was AWESOME. The 90’s room was very cool and Jenny was a great clue giver. It was an overall excellent experience.

We had an awesome time! Three escape room newbies and two others in Trapped in a Nightmare. Awesome spooky theme and very well done puzzles in this one. Well definitely be back!

We brought our sorority seniors here and had a BLAST!!! Highly recommend for you or a group!

So awesome the staff is so friendly the rooms are amazing and had fun every time Ive gone

My friends and I were visiting from out of town when we stumbled across the Art of Escape and we had such an amazing time! The rooms were well thought out and the employees were so nice!

Great experience!! Loved the Harry Potter theme!!!

AWESOME TIME! Staff is friendly, helpful and has a great sense of humor. Not as easy as anyone in our group expected but fun for everyone. Great time!

We played the “Bring Back the 90’s” themed room, and it was the perfect challenge level to be a blast but required a lot of imagination. The staff/owners are excellent people and so friendly and welcoming! We will certainly be back. Highly recommended.

I’d give this place more than 5 stars if I could. I’ve done many escape rooms, and this one was terrifyingly brilliant. My best friend and I did the Trapped in a Nightmare room and it really did make you feel like you were in a nightmare! It was so fun and a perfect amount of challenging. One of the two owners and his son greeted us and helped us through our room and they were super great! They really wanted to make sure we had a good time in our room. I highly recommend this place to anyone in town or nearby!

Love this place! Always helpful and the games are both challenging and exhilarating. Plan on returning very soon to check out more rooms.I do like that I can plan my trip before hand on their website.

I love this place! The rooms are very creative, the staff is very personable and friendly, and the price is very reasonable for the experience provided. I recommend to anyone who has a love for escape rooms.

Friendly staff, challenging puzzles, great fun!

Had a great time and excellent service! Definitely would recommend for anyone in need of something different to do with friends or family!

I have done multiple escape rooms in Nashville, Pigeon Forge, and Bristol to compare this one too .At first I was a little reluctant but this turned out to be the most fun room I had done. We did Trapped and it is very unique and challenging. You could tell a lot of thought and planning went into building this room. I would totally advise doing this room.

Wonderful staff. Talked to them before the event. The room itself was very clever, and the atmosphere was wonderful. For the record, we survived and passed with 10 seconds remaining.

Great themed rooms, challenging original puzzles and awesome staff equals an amazing escape room experience.

The staff was awesome and made it so much fun!!

Fun, fun, fun. Great games, awesome owners, great atmosphere! Dont miss out!

This place is the best! Both escape games are so well made. Theyre fun and challenging. The owners are wonderful: so nice and hospitable. I cant wait for the new games!

Fantastic experience with this group! Was very fun and helpful during the full experience. I recommend EVERYONE to go visit them!!!

Puzzles required major laps in logic, room was incredibly hot and small for the number of people allowed. One puzzle was broken entirely.Ive done quite a few escape games, this place was probably the worst

Great escape room. Super nice staff

The staff are amazing. I so wish I couldve hacked out the toxic mold in this old building. Instead, I fell out in the hallway upstairs. If you suffer from CIRS (mold illness), this is NOT the place for you.

Great escape room! I work for another escape game company and was very impressed by the puzzles in this room. We played the 90s themed room, and even got to do some trivia after the game. Looking forward to the other rooms they plan on opening!

We did the 90s room and it was a blast. The staff was super nice and helpful. Can not recommend this place enough.

Just played the art of escape with my wife and kids. We had an excellent experience! The staff was very hospitable and accommodating, making the experience fun and entertaining. If you are new to escape rooms or love puzzles, I highly recommend trying it out !

Had a blast!!! So much fun. Amazed at the level of detail and everything they put into the experience. Highly recommend and will be back very soon! Owners were very friendly, too.

Absolutely loved it! Great puzzles excellent staff. Will definitely be back!!!!

The 90s room was a blast! The staff is friendly and ensures you have a good time!

Great place, owners are very friendly and professional. I had a great time . Will definitely be back.

Good way to spend time with the family.

Loved it! Challenging for anyone at any age.

Loved it. If you like puzzles and can work together then this is a fun night for all.

The owners are amazing and very talented. Just go and you will love it

The upstairs is very uncomfortable in summer

Best time EVER!!! Coolest office party!! Best puzzles and we still beat them! Because my team is AWESOME!!! Everyone should go here!!!

Super fun ! The game runners are awesome!

Absolutely amazing experience!!!! We came as an office bonding Christmas party, and had such a blast!!! I would totally recommend for any bonding, family, etc.!!! Such a great time, great clues, and amazing staff!!! Will come back!!!
