Our second stay (of a week) at this place. So conveniently located. My favorite part is the clean showers with plenty of hot water, decent shower curtains and shower heads that dont soak the dressing room floor. Other than that, it is just a big parking lot with RV hookups, and a subway ride into Manhattan. Friendly staff, currently good views, but I understand there are more high-rises planned for the marina. Still...will return

Overall, not a bad experience. It’s not your typical campground because of it’s proximity to the city. It was quite expensive for what you get. The showers and bathrooms weren’t very clean and the WiFi didn’t work. At almost $150 a night, I would expect those to be on point. The park also borders a parking lot for a bar, but overall felt safe and enjoyed the views.

This is a parking lot, LITERALLY. Imagine an old, asphalt lot, that desperately needs resurfaced. There are areas that have been covered with loose gravel with weeds popping up sporadically in the gravel. There is no grass, trees, or shade, not even in the tent spaces-those are astroturf. Most RV spots are very narrow and all are only 45’ long. They’re SUPER crowded. We had a corner space that fit our camper and two cars. That was a plus, because had both cars not fit, they would have charged us and additional $35 parking fee!The RV lot is surrounded by a fence, but its waist high on one side. The marina/ferry parking lot surrounds the RV lot. Users of that lot are loud and often drunk until wee hours.Security guards are on duty and attentive 24 hours. There are unairconditioned men’s and women’s bathhouses onsite with good sized hot showers. It is very close to Manhattan, whether you want to ride the PATH, take a ferry, or drive. There are a couple of spots in the parking lot where you can stand and see the Statue of Liberty, if you’re tall. We felt as if the website is extremely misleading because it makes it seem like the park has great views of the Statue of Liberty. It has a decent view of the skyline and the marina, but most of the view is concrete and buildings under construction. There are some great restaurants within walking distance. Stellas 24 Hour Eatery is phenomenal, but they don’t answer the phone at night. Just walk down there and fill your belly. We will not return. 100% waste of time and money. We don’t stay at 4star/5star locations, but this was NOT what we were expecting.

Based on reviews I kept my expectations low - it was just a one night stay. When I arrived the security guard wasn’t wearing a mask and made me sign in and do paperwork. When he told me I had to sign the clipboard on my way out in the morning I reminded him there was a pandemic and I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. We were traveling in an RV specifically to limit our exposure. I told him I would be gone by 9:30 which I was. The next day they charged me $40 for a late checkout because I didn’t sign the clipboard even though they confirmed that I was indeed gone by 9:30. I called to ask for a refund of the $40 and they said a manager would have to review it. They never called back. Besides being completely unethical (the paperwork I signed said only that I had to be out by 11 it didn’t mention the clipboard) it’s also bordering on neurotic. There were literally 3 other vehicles besides me. Not hard to tell I had left so who cares about the clipboard. Also, calling this an RV park is a stretch. It’s quite literally a gravel parking lot with no real view of anything and fecal droppings everywhere.

Good place to stay while visiting New York City without the need to take your RV into the citys chaos. Basically just a big gravel lot, but each site has decent electric and water connections and you can see the Statue of Liberty from a nearby shoreline. The Hudson River and NYC skyline arent that far of a walk either. Felt secure day and night, and its a relatively quiet location. Friendly staff, clean restrooms and showers, dump station -- and the PATH train to NYC is just a few blocks away. This is a place I would stay again.

We camped at Liberty Harbor RV Park, in early June, 2018, in a Class A motorhome. While it is not a resort, it totally worked for us as we spent our days in NYC. To get to NYC, we utilized the PATH train and the ferry services, each a few blocks away. The person that checked us in was most helpful. The information packet given to you at check-in is excellent…lots of tips, etc! The park is situated in a very nice part of Jersey City, NJ, mostly residential condos near, and several restaurants. We never once felt unsafe. You can walk out on a pier at the marina and look across the Hudson River and see part of Manhattan. The night view at that spot is gorgeous. You can also walk over to the Warren Street pier and have even more of a view. We had such a great experience camping and visiting the city. We approached Jersey City from the south, on I-78. The campground is easy to find. I would recommend this campground!

My family was supposed to take an rv trip from California to DC and New York this summer. I already reserved this campground and they won’t refund our 50% deposit which is $250. They say they will reschedule us but the traveling has to occur in 2020, that’s not possible with my family or job as a teacher.I know in the grand scheme the $250 isn’t much compared to what others are dealing with, but it’s the ethics of this campground that are sub-par. They have reservations up to three years in advance on their website but I have to travel within 2020?!?!

This campground is a bit difficult to book even when theyre slow in winter. Since they appeared to be the only one open in the area, we pushed through and got a reservation. Unfortunately, they turn off the water as temperatures drop and there was only one faucet to fill fresh water tanks (at the dump station). The sites are small. Our awning would touch the next camper if we opened it (theres not much they can do about that except to leave a vacant site when they are slow). The good news is that it was all paved and pretty easy to get in/out. They also have on-site security, which is a good thing this close to the city. We felt safe. They are close to the bus/subway stop just a few blocks away. With that, you can get to most anything on the New Jersey side as well as in NYC.In all, I would stay again but would suggest a little better response time from the office.

I had a reservation for September 2019 and had to reschedule due to hip surgery, when I called to explain my situation, the phone attendant suggested to move it to the first week on December when they have the calendar for 2020 available and then call to reschedule. When I called on December 2 to request the date for 2020, the employee and office manager told me that they couldn’t do it. So why I was told that was possible? Also if you want to check their policy and regulation link online, it doesn’t work.I was not asking for a deposit refund, I just wanted to reschedule, which I was told I could do.DEFINITELY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DESERVES A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT

If youre looking for a convenient place to park your RV while youre seeing the city, this is a great spot. Its easy to get to, and easy to depart. While it is nothing but a large parking lot, chances are you wont be spending much time there. Security was good, surrounding area seemed safe, the PATH train and ferry to Manhattan are just a short walk away. Restrooms were reasonably clean, showers were hot, plumbing was hit or miss. The toilets dont always flush properly until the third try. If you arent expecting spacious sites and trees and grass, you wont be disappointed. The office staff gives everyone a lot of helpful information about getting into Manhattan. Just be sure you remember to sign out when you leave, as they have a rather asinine rule that you will charged $40 if you dont. Its rather pointless, as they know immediately if someone is on property or not, since every camper has their site and departure date posted in their window and security does drive through and check.

My family and I spent a year saving for our RV trip in America and this was the most expensive RV park we were staying at (256 dollars for 2 nights).Unfortunately due to covid19 our flights were cancelled and our holiday put on hold. Our travel agent managed to rebook our holiday for the same time next year. And only next year as they werent sure how flights from Ireland where going to be affected over the next few months.Every other RV park we have rang (about 10 of them) have been wonderful and have given us full refunds and we will definitely be rebooking them all once we are given the green light, except this one. When we rang to cancel, explaining what was going on, they told we would only be getting a 50 percent refund. We advised them we would be rebooking and could we even swap the booking. They said no but they could give us a credit note but it had to be used by the end of this year. You should be ashamed of yourselves using a pandemic to make a profit. 125 dollars might not seem like much money to you (or maybe it does since you wont part with it) but to a family of 5 it is alot of money. Incase your wondering I worked 3 jobs to save for this holiday. If thats how a company wants to make its money, on the misfortune of others, then on the bright side Im glad we got to see what you were like now and not have to wait for next year.

Exploiting Covid19 reservations? We had our US trip cancelled because of Covid19, with all flights out of the UK effected, and had paid Liberty Harbour in full months ago for a site.Best Liberty Harbour could offer (after not replying to any emails) was pushing back the reservation to within 2020, totally unachievable for us, or a 50% refund.I get that these are stated in their terms and conditions, but come on the circumstances for everyone right now are unprecedented, unprecedented, so we just lost over $125.Point to note, KOA campgrounds we had booked with on our planned 5 week US tour (from Seattle through to Maine) ALL refunded our money in full.Hugely disappointing. Our vacation is postponed for a year until 2021, and were rebooking with every KOA, but not here. Lousy people, very lousy.

We enjoyed our stay at Liberty Harbor. Our main reason for choosing this park was the proximity to the city. We knew (based on reviews and pics) that the park is just a gravel parking lot with 50 spots and no sewer. We knew that going into it and everything was fine. The location is GREAT for reaching the city, it was safe/secure, and at night was relatively quiet for a city RV park. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only negatives are: the bathhouse is a bit dated (nothing dirty or gross), the laundry took $3 from us and a few of them were broken, some of the sports are very narrow and a bit hard to get into, the price is steep but it is NYC, and the dump station can be tricky to get into.Overall I was pleased with the RV park and it helped us see NYC while in our RV seeing New England.

Excellent location - just a 15 minute walk from Jersey Path subway to New York City. RV park is otherwise just a big gravel parking lot. You’ll want to use as a place to park your RV to sleep, etc, but not at all inviting to sit outside. Decent/clean showers and bathroom area. Expensive, but fair given prices you’d pay if staying at a hotel in the area and paying to park your RV or trailer, etc.You can just barely see the Statue of Liberty, when looking across between docked boats. The ferry that leaves from there is not the one to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty but that ferry was a 10 minute walk (I felt that was misleading on their website) but the number one reason I gave this place 2 stars was because the power kept tripping and one day we were out all day and came hope to a 95 degree trailer. Thank God we boarded our dogs because I would have raised heck if they were their in that heat. I was a little nervous on what to expect when we got there but there were no issues. Even getting to the location through the city wasnt too bad and we have a 35 travel trailer. This place is not great but it’s so close to the city it’s worth the hassle. Here is the major problem, we had a 30 amp site, but we would trip the breaker the moment our AC came on. (We only have 1). That tripped breaker would knock out power to the 4 trailers next to us. They would flip the breaker back on and all our ACs would kick on and trip it again. My husband went and looked and 5 sites shared one 60 amp breaker. We couldn’t run our AC even though it was 96 degrees. We moved to dry camping because we could run our generator and it was $30 cheaper a night. Out in dry camping you’re parked in a boat yard next to boats that are dry docked. It’s kinda random but u have a space to yourself with nearly no one around so u can do what u want. The only perk to this place is it’s location to the city. I e never paid for an electric site that then didn’t really have electricity. They need to sort that out and it would be so much better.

Per my BBB complaint: I was charged $160 dollars to remove a boot from a public area. There is no indication that parking is not available, and when asked for the signs to be located, I was told I was ‘lucky’ that they did not tow my car. I asked the reason for the additional charges. I was told I was charged a Parking rate that when asked for the sign, there was none. I called the police as I was then threatened to have the boot placed on again, to have the cops called, and to send my car to a towing agency. I paid the 160 dollars and told I that I was not welcomed. I documented the conversation as well as the parked car in which there are no ‘No Parking Signs’.

Do not stay here. We have traveled across the United States and this is by far the worst place we have ever stayed. Pulled in our site and ran over a screw, so now we have a flat tire. The staff is absolutely horrible and it seems as if they are on a mission to charge you for everything. They say the sites are 18 feet wide, not true, ours was only 14’. If you’re slides hang over, they charge you. If your vehicle does not fit cross the front of your site, they charge you. If you have a trailer and it does not fit within the lines, $75 per night for storage. Again, the staff is very rude and we have never been treated so poorly by anyone else, anywhere. It’s not worth it, find another place to stay.

We have stayed at a lot of campgrounds across the country and I was on the fence with Liberty after reading a few reviews. I am glad I decided to stay here. FANTASTIC location to NYC, great views of the NY Skyline, Statue of Liberty. It is really a parking lot on the harbor but who cares, it is the worlds best ferry ride to NYC (which does not operate not he weekends). If are looking for an RV Resort, this is not your place but it really is so nice to camp close to NYC. We will definitely be back!

Four stars for the location! By ferry boat its a 6 minute ride into Manhattan and the view of the NYC skyline in the evenings is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. We have to deduct one star off our rating because the facilities are in serious need of a renovation. The water in the showers constantly fluctuates between hot and cold. Also, dont expect a campground, but rather a parkinglot with full RV hook-ups.

Security is great and everyone was very friendly. Bathhouse was okay. Spots are really tight. You get a gravel spot with water and electric only. Line for the dump station is crazy long near checkout time. You only stay here to visit NYC. You can take the PATH train to WTC for $2.75, which is convenient.

We lost $230. to this private RV park today. Be VERY careful about making reservations and their cancellation policy. My husband sustained an injury during our trip through the South and ended up in the ER. I called to cancel our nights at this park and gave them a weeks notice, but they still kept 50% of our fee and will surely fill our space with another paying RV. So...... I advise everyone to be cautious of this RV park business. We gave them plenty of notice. Be careful and take notes when you speak with their agents.

Right on the Hudson. A 30 minute walk to the Liberty State Park. A 30 minute subway ride to downtown NYC. Cant find a better place to park your rig in the middle of New York (well New Jersey Jersey close enough!)

Most convenient campground to visit New York City. Just hop on the ferry and youre there. Realize this is an urban area so therefore its a parking lot. Do not hit the traffic at a busy time.

They dont put any money back into the place. But what can I say, they have a captive audience. No where else to park the RV. Fairly convenient walk to the subway. Not near enough night lighting inside the RV park. Fortunately its in a night time low foot traffic area.

Great option close to N.Y. city. PATH train to world trade center station is 10-15 minute walk away. This is close quarters camping. Youre going to be able to touch your neighbor. Bath houses are clean and showers are hot and plentiful. You can see the statue of liberty from the campground.

Worth the trip! The sights were a little small. Theres not much grass for pets. And its not the easiest to get to in a large coach. But, the location makes it worthwhile! Grrat views of the city and the Statue of Liberty (at a distance). Right on the harbor. And easy access to the subway, shopping and restaurants.

We stayed here over the 4th of July. It was clean and safe. We could see the Statue of Liberty from our campsite!!! The night guards were super friendly and helpful. The people in the office were helpful as well.We didnt use the campground bathrooms or laundry rooms, but we went to check them out. The laundry room had all new machines and was very clean. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The only complaint we had was about the very loud cars leaving the restaurant that uses the marina parking lot. People blasting music for 45 minutes at 2AM- loud enough to make our whole camper shake. (But thats not the campgrounds fault)The PATH Station and ferry landing are both just a short walk away. We felt safe walking with our two young children, even late at night. It was a fantastic place to stay if you want to bring your RV to the Big Apple!!

Great place to camp near NYC sights! Honestly, in the heart of Jersey City my expectations were low. However, we pulled in at 10:30pm and were greeted and assisted by 2 very friendly and helpful security guards. During our 4 night stay employees we had contact with were super helpful and courteous. Very quiet place except for some neighborhood morning construction which is expected in the city. No frills RV park and guests seemed to be there for all the same reason...NYC tourist by day, back to camper for sleep at night. Literature given us at check in was very helpful as first time visitors to New York. Showers were clean, hot, and secure. PATH subway station linking NJ to Manhattan an easy 5 block walk away in a good neighborhood. We returned from a Mets game at midnight one night and felt very safe during the 5 block walk. I recommend arriving before dark to make the RV park easier to find. But I knew we had picked the right place that first night...we set up camp, looked to the east, and saw the Statue of Liberty shining in the harbor. What a rush for this Iowa kid.

The campground itself is very plain, just a large asphalt parking lot with electrical (30/50 amps) and water outlets. The bathroom and shower facilities are adequate and daily clean. It is hard to keep white tile clean. Security is awesome. They are very protective about this area. The best part about this park is its proximity to NYC. About 5 blocks and you can take the PATH into Manhattan, or just outside the park you can take the communities ferry across to Manhattan. For its location and ease of transport to the city, it is totally worth it.

I like the park, its amenities, location, and large sites. But this is a business that preys on overnighters like me by charging $40 if you dont sign their checkout book. This is a real scam and an expensive one. I have stayed at Liberty Harbor RV a couple of times, but will no longer use it due to their rapacious business practices.

The location is great in terms of accessibility to the city. Its a parking lot style campground so not very attractive. It was safe as there is 24 hour security, but its not super clean and needs maintenance, its pretty tired looking. Short walk to nice restaurants. You can also walk to Liberty State Park from here.
