Love this place, very nice staff that talk to you like family. The museum itself is really cool! I enjoyed the Ore Knob Mine exhibit the most, they even had a detailed model of the mine and artifacts from the mine. The gift shop is huge and I even got a book about the Ore Knob Mine that was written by a local author. Highly recommend to people visiting or who have recently moved here and want to know more of the towns history.

I recently had the privilege to go to the Ashe Museum and was amazed at the awesome displays and treasure trove of interesting books and artifacts. The staff were very courteous and helpful. My visit was for business purposes and brief but I certainly plan to return when I have more time to spend. I could spend many delightful hours there walking through the past!

Rich, emersive, and definitely worth a stroll though to learn some great history of the local area and our country. Heritage is laden here, just walk outside and stroll through the victory garden, a tradition old ad the country itself

Interesting pace. It was a nice place to take the kids on their summer break for cheap. All they did was just asked for a donation of any size, and with five kids that really helped

Very interesting museum all about local history. The museum is free but, they do have a box for cash donations. The museum is located in the old county courthouse building. Exhibits are on the first floor only. The upper floor(s?) are undergoing restoration. Well worth a visit!! Check out the photos. With this review. They also have a gift shop with many reasonably priced items.
