There was a nice play area for the kids. They have a basketball court and an area with grills to bbq outside. They also have a large gazebo with benches for eating along side of it. They have restrooms that seemed well maintainenced. Reason I gave it a low score was because I ddnt like the big scary bugs and wild life but its a nice place
My 15 month old loves it here. Wished there were more at the splash pad.
Very clean!!! I think its fantastic to have for kids... loved the new covered places to sit!!!
Play gyms are not big or that great.
Splash pad defintly fun for the little ones
Great for the FAMILY.
Its FREE! The kids can play and have fun!Nice tables w umbrella shade for adults to watch!
Great baseball game there today. Grandson won high school fall ball championship
My kids absolutely love this place and its really kid friendly
Need more seated and shady areas for how busy it gets, but super fun for the kids! Bring a chair or blanket to sit on :)
Somewhere to cool off. Pickings in the Ville are slim
Great because it is right next to the splash pad and the rec center. Also awesome because there is no sand at this park, just rubber mulch. As a mom, that eliminates a bunch of clean up later on. Highly recommend.
My kids loved it last summer! Cant wait to take them back! Gets a little crowded though- please WATCH your children...they dont protect themselves!!!
The splash pad shouldnt close 10 minutes to 7 especially when its full of kids. At least 730. Some people work until 5 ..
Nice small place for a quick visit of a splash pad
Small and quiet:). Easy to keep track of the kids
Only bring your towels and lock everything else in your car. Just had some people steal cash right out of my purse in broad daylight with other families nearby. On second thought, just dont go here at all. I definitely wont be!
I love the splash pad,and when they have social events!
Love the splash pad at this location. They have tables to sit at with umbrellas which is great for parents to sit at under the shade while the kids have a good time. My kids enjoy coming here and its never super crowded.
My kids love this park since being remodeled
Good time with the kids.
It is cool the age group is 3 to 12
Great playground for kids. Plus there is restrooms and a water fountain
Great little water activity spot. Honestly Ive been there 4 or 5 times and it was not crowded at all. Good for kids, and accompanying adults too, especially in the August heat. The fact that the splash pad is activated by a sensor in the middle is a great idea and the kids get a kick out of turning the water works on by themselves. There are tables with umbrellas, and an outdoor shower., The 2 adjacent basketball courts are nice and are lit up at night.
Nice place they have a watermark play area for kids. Basketball court. Overall a nice place to hang out.
Great baseball feild
Lovely place to take kids
Lots of fun for children under the age of 10! A splash pad is fun and clean. There are several picnic tables with umbrellas and plenty of room to spread out on the grass. The splash pad is not fenced in and children need to be watched carefully. The bathrooms are small, one stall in each, and are a bit of a walk to the splash pad. They appeared to be clean but the mens room reeked to the point that we opted to use the womens exclusively
Very clean and nice park
My grandkids love it
Kid and I love it.
Great ballpark when the season is here for ball
This is a great area for kids. Theres a splash pad, a great playground with covered seating that has a couple of grills you can use. In the center itself theres a basketball court, where Jacksonville parks and Rec hold all sorts of activities. The events and activities can been found on their website, Facebook page, or flyers in the building. The grounds are always clean and well maintained. (As of July 2016 the satellite view on maps doesnt show the splash pad)
No concession stand and was there for 5 hours watching baseball games.
Nice lots of space would be better if it had swings
My kids love this place. They have so much fun splashing around.
Good enough for kids. Just dont bring no toys because they not allowed.
Great place for the kiddos
Great place to take my son when it’s hot outside and we just don’t feel like driving to the beach!! Love that it is in my neighborhood!
Nice place for family
Fun water spraying
Nice splash pad
Small playground but just the right size for a day out with an active toddler.
It was very clean and my kids had so much fun!!
My babies loved it dispite the fact my grandson was picked on the whole day by a kid who granddad suggested my grandson due to being black would be in jail by 16...
The splash pad was a lot of fun on a hot day!
Im just reviewing the splash pad. Its a lot smaller than it looks in the pictures. Its not that great. It looks clean and the park looked OK but I wouldnt go back.
My kids love playing basketball here
Fun place for the young kids.
Nice place for family outings.
Great place to bring children and cool off
Safer than standing water...timed and clean I love it and so dies my daughter....celebrating her bday here️
Being a stay at home mom there arent too many fun things to do in jacksonville in the hot summer heat. Until now, our experience was great. Only suggestion is to put a bathroom closer.
The splash park is great for small children under age 7...and its free
Just ran by because it is near the Onslow County School Board.
This is a great addition to Jacksonville! I went while it rained, so it was empty, but just prior to the rain, it was pretty packed. As with anything in Jacksonville, scale is a problem. It just gets too packed. So Ill say this was an excellent start! Put 5 more of these in various parks throughout the city and make them about 2x as big then were in business! All in all, it was really cool. We had a great time :)
This place was already pretty awesome for stay at home parents with kids, now that they have a splash pad its reached epic levels!!! Stay at home moms and dads youre welcome;-)
The parents act like they own the place and constantly complained about everything the children did! Made our visit horrible. The ground around the pad was literally a foot deep in soggy, mud; looked like a sewage break, and because of this we couldnt sit in the benches surrounding the pad. Staff kept adding more chlorine until you could smell it from the parking lot.
April 29th beautiful day 89 degrees out brought my kids and thwe wad no water on so no fun for us there today :(
We love the splash pad!
Love this park and Open Rec at the indoor gym!
Park is okay (thats the reason for my 2 stars... Woman in charge of the rec center is A TERRIBLE, NON EDUCATED, IGNORANT, GUSSIPER that demands respect but cant NOT respect others adults or children. To be honest I will never ever have my children under hercare or supervision. She is NOT to be trusted!! Very disappointed!
Kids had a lot of fun perfect for a hot summer day!
I went there last year 2016 and my son Trahon had fun and I also went yesterday it was hot outside so my granddaughter and trahon went there to play in the water with the other children they all had fun there at the splash pad
Nice place for kids with out heat index
Nice park
A bit of a rough neighborhood. But a nice park
Not sure where that is at. As a service plumber I drive all over southeastern NC . I get near places that show up on the phone that I havent actually been to. This is one of those. **Thorntons Plumbing **
More for little children
No batting cages, no bullpen, when practicing no lights for the fields, they only have lights on during games, they cant even get a practice schedule right, they got us laid out on the same day and time to practice against the other Jacksonville team
Perfect place for reunion
Very slow. Not many people.
Good
