Movie history: The film Revenge of the Creature shot scenes here. Friendship Park occupies land that was once home to a restaurant built on pilings over the river, The Lobster House. The creature came ashore here and abducted the heroine. The restaurant burned down in 1962. Much of the film was shot in and around Jacksonville including many scenes at Marineland to the south.

If you live in Jacksonville you should visit the downtown area.

Beautiful views of the river. Always a good place to be, until the crowds move in. I will miss it when it is closed in the spring for upgrades.
