Today is Saturday it was a cold day and I played nine holes of Jacksonville Beach the prices have gone up slightly and I was very bitter I didnt like the idea of the prices going up feeling that theyre getting rid of the usual members but after playing nine holes on the golf course see what kind of shape its in and its only gotten better I agree with the price tonight it keeps the people that want to mess up the course away and the good golfers coming in my only complaints is for all your golfers that have your audacity not to fix your divots on the Green the best part of golf is replacing your divot and scoop up some sand in a divot in the fairway its our golf course were very lucky to have the staff we do and the starters are friendly and courteous we meeting a ranger out there sometimes but fortunately I understand why please keep up the excellent work and respect the course its ours its the the poor mans country club thats right the country club the greens are phenomenal I have no complaints and I complain about everything even the kitchens getting better I dont understand the breakfast cook that comes in at 12:00 but apparently you dont need the business again guys keep it up and go inside and say hello to the fellas theyre lonely in there with no customers the guys are clean clean your clothes keep sons of b****** well thats my quote and actually Ill be keeping updated its my country club and I will talk about it good or bad so respect it appreciate the boys and pick up your mess and Im straight boys BIG MIKE

The course is in great shape, all the staff were friendly and polite. The golf carts are awesome!!Very well priced!!

Great greens!

The golf course staff has kept the course in AMAZING condition! I haven’t seen greens so smooth and fast since playing TPC after a tournament (players could do a better kid fixing ball marks). The club house staff are super, very helpful, polite and extremely accommodating! Thank you

I am so so impressed with the way the greens are maintained. It seems like I am playing on Sawgrass Stadium greens. Keep up the good work.

Jax Beach Golf Club is probably one of the best courses in North East Florida. Ive played several courses, including Private and semi-private courses. The maintenance staff here is amazing. Tee boxes, fairways, greens are not just good, they are PERFECT. Staff is extremely friendly. Bad news? Yeah, its a bit busy - but still played in under 4 hours. Hot? Duh. Yeah, its summer.

An emerging beacon of municipal golf. Great greens and surrounds. A variety of holes, with strong par 3s and 4s. Ill be back for sure.

First time today. Got to experience the driving range. Had some great coaches from Beaches Chapel School. Tottally worth it! Cannot wait to be back next Friday!!

First time playing Jax Beach Golf Club. Very nice experience! Greens are very nice, good speed. Fairways in good shape, tight and firm. Fun layout and a great walking course. Green to tee walk is short, good design. Overall excellent experience. A definite go back.

Just getting back into the game after a 8 year hiatus so its been all on the driving range getting my swing, stance, etc. back into a reasonable condition. The course looks good and, along with the driving range, well maintained.

My husband has been before a while ago and he was blown away at how much the course has improved! The staff was amazing! The starter was the highlight of our experience. He was super informative about the course since I have never played, made us feelLike we have been playing here for years and very flexible with the tee time. We have already booked another tee time for Thursday!

The course is in fabulous shape. Hope the conditions can be maintained going forward. Played on 10/14/19 and with the redesigned: 18 holes and lunch out of there in 4.5 hours!

This course is far better than what it used to be. The greens are in tip-top shape, new carts add a prestige element to the course. My only complaint is with the range: if you want to hit off grass GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They only hit off mats, even on the weekends. Once every blue moon theyll open up the grass but theres no rhyme to the reason. Great golf course, but the range is something to be desired.

Buckle up for a 5-6 hour round. I’ve never played a round in under 5 hours here and today they had the great a idea to let a group of 8 go out and play together. Sucks because it can be a fun track to play, but never again. Save your money and go down the road.

Amazing golf course with spectacular views whilst playing! Tricky yet enjoyable, be prepared to lose a few balls into beautiful lakes but without a doubt worth the experience, would definetely recommend. Exceptional staff who were very welcoming! 10/10

280 people a day with 4 min tee times, is what I was told! It took us 3.5 hours for the back 9! (We started on the back 9) We didnt get to finish 18 and thats even with people leaving in front of us! Ill never play here again. It has all the right stuff to be a great place. But, the Staff was awesome, just WAY too crowded!

Since renovations this course is one of the top beaches courses. Great course and the staff is always friendly.

I gave it a for because I suck at golf. I just go with my kids to hang out and have a good time and we did. But as I said I suck at golf so to me everything was very nice I like the price and the greens and Fairways were well-kept. Its on an island so space is at a premium and you really have to hit straight to stay on the fairways. But what do I know all I can say is we had a good time.

The course is fun. The pros will get on your case for not wearing a collar even on the range. It would be nice to warm up on grass not a matt for the premium rates but the pros will get on you for that as well. This is a public course stop acting like its TPC.

Very sad to hear they don’t offer any discount for those of us who choose to walk the golf course. That’s right you heard me they charge the same thing as if you were riding a golf cart to play their course. And for those seniors out there they do NOT allow golf carts any closer than 30 yards from the green and do not have anything that you can ride that’s handicap accessible which in my eyes is discrimination especially when 95% of people who play my and our beloved game are over 55 years of age. Also inside staff members are rude and don’t want to see you no one even says hello when you walk in the door no one has a smile on their face period. Especially the women who work behind the register

I refused to ever play this course again after I played a few years ago, but the renovation has done wonders! Its very well maintained and some of the best greens in Jacksonville now!

Loved the renovations. Best municipal course in the area. Greens were surprisingly fast and they opened up the areas around for a fun short game challenge. Beautiful range too they even have a boat to hit at

Fun course, in above average shape. Carts have a fancy touch pad GPS system that tells u yards to pin, but malfunctions off & on even when u r on the path. & carts r not allowed in the parking lot for loading/unloading. That sux. $52/9 holes/2 peeps

Hosted a small company golf outing on a busy Saturday. Course was in perfect shape. Greens were some of the best I have played on in Jax in recent memory.Looking forward to more rounds in the upcoming weeks ahead.

The new layout makes for a faster round. No more waiting for the group ahead to lay up in front of the water protecting the greens. What they took away in distance was made up for with firm and fast greens. 18 is a great finishing hole. Great round.

Havent played this course yet. Went to beaches to find it. Looks real good, driving fangs, putting areas where at club house. Will let everyone know after the 20th of may

This is a gem. Remodeled in 2018 it lost some of the difficulty. They sort of made up for it with 18. If you have game its a par five made for you. Small dogs stay in the fairway, play your three or four shots to the green. The green are lightning fast and smooth for a public course. They are still hard so you wont be stopping many shots just get.

Other than not being able to get on the course for the first two months its been open, I loved the new greens!! OMG! There stupid good. It still has some aging to do. But once mother natures done doing her thing the place will be a amazing!!

Took a walk around the new improved course. It will be opened this weekend for the first time in a year. Improvements are in favor of the every day duffer. They took water out of play although its along the fairways. Cant wait for it to open.

Great condition. The touch screen in cart to assist on the course is incredible. One of my favorites to play for sure.

The course was a fun time. It did not have much difference in grass heights specifically around the green. The bag boys were fantastic but the service help in side was rude telling us we were late for our tee time when we were 20 minutes early.

Practice on the driving range. $4 for small bag. $6 for big bag

Very rude front office. Unfriendly and unwelcoming. As a customer/member, you have to be willing to pull information out of the staff if you need it. Its too bad because it seems like it would be a quaint, local course to play. Hopefully the City will realize the need for change.

@51 bucks, it is now a country club and not a muni course. Yes, I love the new greens, layout and course conditions but I think the price is too steep.

Have only been to the range since the reopen (4 times) and very disappointed. Have only hit from the mats, even though the grass looks perfect...since it has just reopened! Every single time I have gone in to get balls for the range I am told to use the mats and not tee off on the grass... Im smart enough to see where we are hitting from, I dont need to be told Everytime. When I asked what the distances on the range were...the response I got was do you have a range finder?. No, I dont have a range finder to use on a driving range... first range Ive ever been to that doesnt have ranges posted somewhere. On the last visit (today) I was informed they decided to close the range due to the rain this morning, even though the range picker was driving around picking up balls from the range... causing way more damage than I would hitting balls onto the range. Thanks for closing down for months, wasting tons of money, and then opening up to still be a useless excuse for a golf course

Here on vacation from Missouri. The weather was great! The staff was very friendly, the burgers from the club house grill were great! The course was fun, greens were in very good shape and fast. Overall a very nice experience at a great price!

It is closed for renovations until (I was told as an estimate) September, but it has always been a nice range to hit some balls or a cheap 18 holes if you have the time.. I’ve never had a problem with anyone other than it being closed for renovations, but I can’t hate on improvements

Started out with our tee time being pushed back 30 minutes. Best thing that happened all day.They charge $40 before noon. $29 after. Well its not worth 29 at anytime. We ended up waiting 5 minutes almost every shot.We decided to quit after 11. We ready wasted money. Saw no reason to waste more of our time.Wont go back.

New remodel is great. one knock would be dress code. went in with a long sleeve t shirt just to hit balls and they informed me that collard shirts will be new code. I sure hope this place doesnt try to become an elitist club. A muni should be for the city...kids especially. idea is to grow the game not discourage people. membership is very disappointing!

Greens were in terrible condition. I came back hoping that they would be in better condition then the last time I played here which was about 1 year ago, and no luck. Rest of the course was ok. But its basically impossible to attempt a realistic putt into any hole with all of the divots all over the greens. Charged me $38. What a joke. I wouldnt pay $10 to play it that way again. I wont be going back anytime soon. Its unfortunate because its close to home. I really hope they get it together.

I am not the reviewer type but I felt inclined to do so because I was impressed with the overall quality, value, & conditions at the golf club today. In a personal conditions rating out of a poss. 5:....Tee box : 3 ; Fairways : 4; Greens : 4; Service : 5; Value : 5 ... having read the prior reviews it seems like people are trying to shame this place...?!?...so i guess dont come here - unless you want to be impressed with great golf/bev prices, very friendly staff, and a well kept secret track in your backyard. See yall next week...

As a senior golfer, the green fees and cart fees are reasonable. The personnel and management are great.I try to play a couple of times a week, wx permitting.

The greens havent been good for years. But the price is fair and everyone that works there is nice and laid back so its still worth returning.

Terrible course and the service is even worse. Greens look like bunkers. Its priced more than courses in way better shape and people that arent extremely annoying. The ranger followed me for most holes because i didnt fill in a divot. There was one very nice employee and the food/bar was very good with extremely good service. Overall strongly advise not to go

I have been playing Jacksonville Beach Golf Club since 2002. The first time I played I was impressed with the little gem municipal. It played hard and fast with nice tight fairway lies. WHAT ON EARTH HAS THE CITY BEEN THINKING SINCE THEN.There has always been reasons to complain. No memberships offered, low customer service, no range membership, 5 years running now with poor greens, over grown fairways, etc. Well its a muni is what I have always told myself!! NO MORE.After playing this past Sunday there is no doubt in my mind this is the worst golf course I have ever played in my life. I am embarrassed to bring any of my friends who travel through Jacksonville over for a round

Course has never been in good shape for the price. Municipal course trying to make as much money as possible so they setup tee times every minute so its always backed up, be prepared to have a 6 hour round. Staff is usually friendly but tend to mislead about course conditions.
