This is a general commonsense comment. IF you gonna sit in the balcony, bring binoculars or other magnifying devices. You CANT see expressions sitting in the back of the building. That being said, lighting was great, props, costumes all great. But EXPRESSIONS bring emotion and reactions. I left feeling no emotion.

I went to a movie show. The orchestra sounded amazing, but the movie audio was pedestrian at best. The projector and screen were more of the dvd quality than hd. A little disappointed.

Amazing Xmas ballet from Ballet Magnificent here every year. We drive from Memphis to see.

As I grew up in the Jackson metro area it was a given that every year we would take a school field trip to see a play at Thalia Mara. Those are some of my most favorite memories from growing up. And now that Im older - Ive been able to take my children to see plays as well.Just to make it better...now Ive seen my favorite band play here twice! The acoustics are amazing and there is absolutely not one single bad seat in the house. My most favorite Jackson venue and attraction!!!

I love to see the symphony here. Student tickets are only $5. Great night?

After the renovation it is better than it used to be but still a bit of an eyesore on the outside. It is obviously not a modern theater but it lacks the old charm and looks more like a dated 70s building. The renovation did nothing to update the outdated areas like concessions and oddly there are no restrooms on what would be considered the main level.

Good venue. Safety and security an issue due to location in Jackson.

LOVE this theatre, host to the International Ballet Competition, the only venue in America of annual rotations between Varna, BULGARIA, Helsinki FINLAND, Shanghai CHINA, and Jackson MISSISSIPPI. Thalia Mara Hall is also host to plays, musicals, symphonies, and great popular music! My most recent sold-out faves: Bonnie Raitt. And Glen Campbell (with his talented, lovingly watchful daughter, Ashley Campbell).

Have seen Bob Dylan, Elton John and REM here, as well as the International Ballet Competition. Great Venue
