Saw one of my favorite bands here. I had to drive about an hour to get here, but it was worth it. Plenty of room, and a nice patio/deck to chill in between bands. Full bar and food available. Will go again if someone I know is playing. Locals are lucky to have a nice place like that around. Located on the outskirts of town, there isnt a ton of traffic to navigate to get there. Check their website for parking tips. They have a small lot but say you can park at a few places next door.
This a cool venue spot on the outer limit of Ithaca. The place is old and looks outdated but hosts great bands and entertainers. A fun time is usually found here.
Awesome Venue. Up close and personal with the artist. Its always cool when you can thank the performer you came to see for the show, talk for a minute or two, and get a person autographed copy of their cd from them. Probably couldve gotten a pic with her too if I had asked. Basically its big enough to bring in some amazingly talented well know artist while still being quaint enough to have a intimate atmosphere!
The atmosphere was perfect for a live show. Everything was wonderful right down to the friendly, fast bartenders. It made our date night a really fun night out!
First time there tonight for the of Montreal concert. Drove in from almost two hours away, and we did not regret it! The bartenders were great and fast, the concert snacks were tasty, and the interior is also perfect for concerts (there are two tires, so shorter folks like me dont have to worry so much). Also, theres a really nice looking outdoor section that we didnt end up using, but I think if we didnt have such a long drive home we woulda have spent some time out there after the show ended. Great venue!
Staff are always friendly, tasty vittles, and some terrific bands, both local and national acts. Great outdoor space for smokers, ample space inside. A classic concert venue.
Solid venue! We tried pretty much everything on the menu (which is fairly limited) and it was all good bar fare. I recommend the French fries, because you can never go wrong with those! The staff were all super polite and helpful. The atmosphere is good - its on the water, so its got a nice back deck in warmer weather. And the show we saw was excellent, which always helps... definitely recommend!
Ill miss this music venue. Dan smalls brings such great artists and no matter where you stand, youll feel close to the stage. The haunt also hosts my friends improv comedy show, giving local comedians an outlet. Beer selection always has something yummy. Portion of tota generous.
This was an awesome venue! I was able to see my favorite indie/folk band, Wild Child from Texas! The staff here were very friendly. There was a great craft beer selection. I liked that there was a patio you could go out on to get fresh air! I will definitely be coming back to this venue to see more live music
Was with my son Christian aka Darkstar at the 10th Annual DJ Cookout today. My 1st visit to The Haunt. It was a very hot day, but plenty of ac inside and shade on the back deck on the water. 3 Dj stages and all were wonderful. I ordered mild garlic parm wings and the flavor was so good! Crispy and delicious! I also got French fries as I love them...they were awesome as well. I plan on going back when its a full menu and to see more of what they offer. Loved the atmosphere and how friendly the staff are. Always smiling...they truly enjoy what they do. Thank you for making our visit so wonderful! See you all soon!
Great venue, mixing is often loud, but brings great people and great fun. Wings are good too!
Happy, friendly, amazing staff! We were recently there for a concert, it blew us away!
Place was great. Drinks were great and fresh water available at all times for no cost. Concert was fantastic. Love Big Something and was introduced to Andy Frasco who was fantastic as well. One of the best concerts I hav seen in 10yrs. Andys 32nd birthday or 2nd 16th birthday was celebrated at the Haunt and in a great way. Crowd was alive and The Haunt delivered and surpassed any n all expectations. Both bands played seperate and togethered til 1am. What a night. What a place. What a great memory to have of The Haunt to haunt me in my later days.
Super fun music venue for local acts and bands looking to break big. The sound is best closest to the stage, as the speakers that play to the back of the room blew out a long time ago. The outdoor seating and standing area is right next to a creek and perfect for a spring, summer, of fall evening. Inside is standing room only, which I prefer for live music. Full bar with reasonable prices, and you can order chicken fingers and fries after youve had a few.
Great place for live music!! Intimate yet large enough to hold > 400 ppl. Would have given 5 stars except venue has no place to sit indoors. Outside is great deck over water to sit/chill for a spell.
Great venue. Doughty sounded great.
The Haunt is a great place to hear music, dance, and meet up with friends.
4/13/2019 Saw the Australian band The Church on their Starfish Anniversary tour at the Ithaca venue The Haunt and they were in one word sublime. Took the stage shortly after 8 PM and played the Starfish album in its entirety and after a 20 minute or so intermission played a mixed set that showcased the strengths of the band. You just cant get value like this for $25 USD anymore. If they come back again, Im there!
The venue was very quaint. Lots of parking, great sound from the bands.. if they gave another big event Ill definitely go!
Great Zydeco from CJ Chenier.
Heard the Sim Redmond band, pop reggae fusion(?). Awesome!!
Incredible atmosphere I’ve been here a few years back and absolutely loved it. It is intriguing and a lot of fun to go there. I would recommend checking it out and especially Halloween events. Halloween events there are always amazing and a lot of fun. Check out the good in general it is a great area
Usually super mellow. Great place to hear live music
This was a pretty cool bar with a really nice and open outdoor seating area. My friends and I went on Reggae night and the music was fantastic despite being incredibly loud. Drinks were fairly priced. There was a lot of room for a crowd of people to enjoy the music and it was overall a fun atmosphere.
Fun venue! Would come earlier to shows if they had more food options, but lots of drink options and great live music scene!
Great small venue to see middle popularity bands. Sound quality is usually good. The outdoor deck is nice in the summer.
This place used to be so much cooler when it was downtown on Green street a million years ago!
Nice venue. Very nice staff!
I loved the original, tighter space location as it was the scene of so many great live shows. This new location is bigger but lacking in the charm of the smaller Green street location. I am sounding like a romantic but the old locale had so much going for it! I would imagine seeing the new space when a great band was on stage would be very nice. The new Haunt location features natural woodwork throughout and classier bar.
If you want to see a show in a medium-sized standing-room-only loud and crowded concert venue, The Haunt is Ithacas place for that. If they have a band you want to see, youll go, and itll hopefully be fun. The staff are helpful and easy going. The bar is efficient and friendly. There are a few good local beers on tap, but the rest are mostly national brands. They have some liquor & mixed drinks, and they have a kitchen that will make you some fried appetizers, too. Drinks are served in glass, which always surprises me but it helps to give a bit of a grown-up atmosphere, elevated above plastic cups. They have a nice deck over the waterfront to escape for a bit. Everything else seemed clean and nice, including the bathrooms.Parking is a random mess; in Ithaca thats just how we roll. Dont stress about it, though - if youre driving then just be calm and patient and deal with it. Itll be fine. You may have to park down the street. If you want to walk there, look up the Waterfront Trail. Its on that.
Super small venue with a lot to offer. It does kind of hang off of a more industrial area so dont plan on heading early and hitting any bars/restaurants in walking distance. The sound in this place is nice and with a capacity of around 400, it offers an intimate experience for the band you go to see. The drink prices are good and the selection is large. The bar was clean and the staff attentive. Would highly recommend if they are playing your tunes,,, but make sure you get tickets prior to show as it sold out super fast when I went and one of our friends had to draw the short straw and stay back at the hotel.
Pretty chill little bar club. Went to see some guy whom my girlfriend claim to be their uncle and it was a great little show. They guy reminds me of Freddie mercury.
Great little venue to see a show
Laid back atmosphere. Musical acts vary from good to great.
Cool little place for concerts, maybe it just needs a/c for the summer time... Overall, Tank and the Bangas were amazing!!!
Not the original Haunt which was in the alley on Green St. Full disclosure, I bartended at the original Haunt in 76 and 77. Best job I ever had, except for maybe when I bartended at the Pine Tavern. May the Pine RIP. Anyway, back to this version of the Haunt. Great place to see a band! A couple of weeks ago by pure luck I happened to catch a Talking Head cover band, Stop Making Sense out of Bethlehem, PA. What a show!! If you get a chance check them out. They blew me away. Anyway, back to this version of the Haunt. Perfect place to see a band. Good size room, great acoustics, easy to get a drink. Staff is great as well. Was drinking Red Stripes that night and the beers were reasonably priced. Plus they have a deck outside over the inlet if you need to get some air. They also have some memorabilia on the walls from the original Haunt including a giant black & white poster of a Friday happy hour in the alley. If you look hard enough Im the handsome blonde smack dab in the middle of the photo. I look forward to seeing some live music there next time Im back in town.
Great place! Outdoor deck is partly covered for rain or shine. Large bar area. Small stage for venues and little standing room but over all a pleasant experience
Great rock bar... Awesome stage and sound. Drinks were a little pricey ... awesome staff and treated bands well.
Great place to discover a wide variety of music. Nice location on Fall Creek near the inlet to Cayuga Lake. Conveniently located right off of route 13.
Love seeing shows here. Its a smaller venue with a big bar and a large outdoor deck. Drinks are priced reasonably and its all standing room only.
Really great shows, a very popular place in Ithaca. Great staff, beer, food. The downfall is that the place is rather small, it gets crowded rather quick. But it is a staple for s reason!
The Haunt has great live music!!!
Great place for live shows
Saw G. Love and Special Sauce here. Sounded great. I felt very comfortable at this sold out show even though I dont usually like crowds. Good beer selection.
Just saw of Montreal! Loved it!
Good view from just about everywhere in the place. Not to loud but I still used ear plugs! Gotta stay safe
Second time here to DJ and nothing but amazing staff and a great venue. If I could give The Haunt 10 stars I absolutley would!
A really great concert space in Ithaca! I went specifocally for a show and had an amazing job. Its a really close intimate space and the crowd to stage ratio is perfect! I had a great time! And as a short person at the back pf a crowd I STILL had a great view!
My wife and I went to see Face To Face. The show was alright, but the 2 bartenders were amazing. They were incredibly friendly, laughing and joking with the customers and each other. The guy bartender had my wife and I crying from laughing so hard. They were the real entertainment that night. I hope they are working the next time we visit.
Great venue to hear music
Great venue for big and small acts. Beers a little on the expensive side (6 bucks for a red stripe?!) But all-in-all a good time.
Great venue bar, been going for years. Good prices and super nice staff!
Remind me not to ever go anywhere with that person who thought the Haunt was ghastly. I personally love this place, the food is fine, the service is fine, the atmosphere is sufficiently funky, the crowd is cool (sometimes downright odd, but thats why you hang out in a bar, isnt it?) and the deck is awesome in the summer, even if the inlet gets a mite funky (not how inlets should be, but not their fault!) Great spot!
Solid music club on the waterfront. You could dock a boat here. My wife was tired of the crowded main floor and we were able to enjoy drinks outside on the deck.
Smaller Venue, have seen some great shows here. The haunt brings me to Ithaca multiple times a year
The events are usually pretty small and feel rather intimate. The whole experienc is really chill. The bartenders are friendly, the food comes quickly. The back patio is a nice place when the sun is out and I cannot wait to go back!
When its on, its on--fully loaded. If youre coming to see a band (and thats really why youre coming here), the place is going to be packed. Elbow to elbow. Theres nothing special about the drinks or anything on the menu, but the stage is well prepared. The bands will sound good, and the energy of the crowd is always palpable.
The Haunt consistently punches above its weight class in the artists they bring in. Its a great opportunity to see some mid level groups in a relatively intimate setting.
Such a great venue! It is cozy which makes shows seem very intimate. Very chill vibe. The only issue I have is the lack of parking, but thats not a huge deal. I would go to basically any show here.
One of my fav music venues. Its small so the performances here feel more personal than at larger venues
Very intimate room. Good sound. I saw Mandolin Orange there, and I was a bit late. When I walked in, the room was so quiet listening to every beautiful note.
One of the best live music venues in upstate New York that is also home to one of the best BBQ chefs in the region The Haunt has just gotten a new owner and undergone an extensive renovation. Lush red walls covered in press pictures of past bands who have performed there over the past 50+ years The Haunt has been around create a great relaxed atmosphere for drinks, great BBQ and some of the best live shows from some of the biggest national acts and local favorites.A great place to spend an evening with friends catching some of the best live music & BBQ around. Highly recommend it!!
Always a good time. I always see people I havent seen in a while. Agent Orange live Punk Rock rules!
Great entertainment options. Good bar
An embarrassing shadow of its former self, scraping by with local bands that play for drinks while charging City covers. Dont bother wasting your time or money, this place is a joke.
Always a nice place for live music.
Great bar, the place gets great music.
The live music experience is top notch with enhanced sound system that seems to be consistently thought out and can be experienced anywhere in the large area. If only enough people can experience the magic of The Haunt...
Called ahead, was told act for the night starts at 9:15 get there after over hour drive to discover they dont start until 10:15-10:30. At least they gave us back $5 cover.
The Haunt has brought in some great music since its been around. They also do a great job mixing sound, so the quality of the music is awesome.
Bought tickets to a very ill portrayed concert. Drove two hours, rented a hotel only to find out.... it’s the worst dj-Ing goober in the west side of NY. In fact not a show at all. Disappointing vibes I assume come for the very awful promoting and lack of detail for said set list. Surrounded by barely 18+ and wretched bar staff with no regard for customers who weren’t drinking underaged. Would not go back and am so disappointed in the mark that was left at such an iconic venue. Tis a shame what we’ve allowed music and the “scene” to become.
Great Bands& lots of dance space.
Such a delightfully small venue that brings in some big bands! Super intimate shows
Great venue for music!
Worst concert venue I have ever been to. The bouncers were high off of the “power” they have. No one should ever attend an event at this place. It was dirty and not at all as advertised.
Busy night, extremely productive bar tender and for staff!
Seminal live music venue in Ithaca, hosting lots of shows that arent quite big enough for venues like the State Theatre but bigger than a typical bar show. The parking is odd but ample (there is very little parking at the venue but lots of sprawling lots nearby behind neighboring businesses you can use). The interior is in good condition and seems to be well-maintained overall. I find the sound to be quite good.I think they could improve the flow of everyone trying to cram back to the bar area to get drinks by including a stand-up bar or two out on the venue floor. Often people will crowd the area near the bar (on the opposite side from the stage) to the point that you cant get drinks without practically pushing people over. Put a couple people on the floor with tubs of PBR and theyd make a lot more money on drink sales. Its worth noting that they are no longer a proper restaurant with regular hours, and are only open during events. They sell baskets of wings, tater tots, and other bar food during events.
Small venue which isnt bad expect the ventilation is non-existent and when the room is crowded its way too warm. The deck is a nice little place though
Kind of tired, but slowly upgrading common areas. Still very bar food oriented menu: wings, poppers, yawn. Not much alt food for alt Ithacan palette.Howver, still the best music venue in this part of upstate NY.
Great spot for live music, Ive never tried the food but can vouch for the venue.
The Haunt always has the highest quality entertainment. Never a bad stop.
Nice spot..
Saw Real Estate here. Very cool venue with lots of history. If you want a chill show with great vibes, go here
I. Thank i just about had it for everyone droma at the Haunt im not going to nexy years Haunt
Great place for live music. Nice selection of beers on tap.
Awesome venue for live music, spacious, outdoor seating. Good service.
