This is a great place to bring the kiddos or a date. I went last night even though it was raining and I was surprise to see a good variety of skaters on the ring. It is a very chill place with some great taste in music. The entry fee isnt high, but I did not check the prices for the food. Overall, it is a good vibes kind of place.
Many years of great times! From working here as a teenager in 1999️ to dropping my own kids off to hang out with friends. This place has been amazing I am sad to hear they are closing.
This place is amazing. One of the best floors Ive seen so far. Me being in the Rolling Rebellion we appreciate you allowing us to practice there for summer camp and such. As well and derby devils. Keep it up guys!
I loved this place for what it was. Never went often but had a great time whenever I did go. Sad to say its gone now. I wish the owners the best
I loved this place! For one this is where my husband and I had our first date and it’s sad to hear they closed
I love this place so much! Ive been trying to become a better skater recently too so its sad to hear that it will be closing down. :(
Thank you and your dad Clay for the memories, I plan on being at the last skate session Saturday. Its been close to 30 years since I skated there regularly, but the great memories are still fresh in my heart
Sooo much better than I remember from a couple of years ago. New carpet and the mold smell is gone. A really nice place to take the kiddos for a fun afternoon.
This place was awesome and pretty cool this place really taught me how to skate and now Im helping friends learn how to skate sad they are closed
Love this place, sad to hear it closed. Is it up for sale or lease?
Love going here it gives me so many great times
So sad... closed after 50 years. Thank you so much skateland for some amazing memories.
This is a pretty good rink. The skate sessions before closing are pretty cool as well.
This skate rink reminds me of the one I grew up in back home in Paris Texas. The staff here is very helpful and pleasant. The only downside to my experience would be the concession stand. They really should work on hiring more experienced staff. One experienced adult could replace two unexperienced kids. The cost of the concession items are not feasible.
Fun place for the whole family. Always with a smile great staff. Only fun memories are left. We will miss going as a family to your skate ring.
Im sad to hear this place will be closing for good this Sunday. I use to go here as a child and now as an adult I bring my children. Get service, staff, prices on food ect. Thank you for bringing Joy to My Family, Friends and I.
Ive been going here since i was a kid! c: the owner is amazing and the staff is very courteous and chill. the music is pretty good too. great date night idea. or just for exercise
This rink is great. The snack bar has reasonable prices, the large bathrooms are always clean, theres a bumper wall the entire way around, they have a rolling training tool for tiny kids (sorta like a walker but wheeled like skates),$5 Thursday nights, and the owner is often present.
My kids used to come here all the time as teenagers. Now Im bringing my grandson. He loved it.
Loved skating here in the 80s when I was living right around from it!
You should be glad people are trying to go on the last day. My daughter traveled all the way from Duncanville just to have some young guy be rude and not let her in. I’m so glad this will be your last day.
We rented the place for a private birthday party. Everything was just as expected and we thoroughly enjoyed the party. The reasons why this is a 4 star review are two-fold. 1) We tried scoping out the place a week before our party, and it happened to be on mothers day (I believe a Sunday evening). The place should have been opened at 7:30pm, but no one showed up. There were about 10-12 people waiting at the door. 2) Shortly before everyone left the party, one of our guests accidentally fell and immediately knew she had broken her wrist. As we were figuring out what to do, we certainly expected the owner or employees to lend a hand, provide an ice pack, offer to call 911... Really anything. But no, the owner or manager and several of his employees, just sat behind their counter, twiddling their thumbs and offering commentary of the sort: Ah yeah, thats definitely broken...
DJ played a good mix of music. Skates were nice.
Nice floor. Great place to skate
Mid-cities is a family thing. My mom brought me when i was a kid and now i take my kidz. Love thiz place
Great memories use to hang out with my friends here about 18 years ago. I also went with my wife and 2 little girls last year and now they have closed it down we miss this place
TERRIBLE SERVICE WASNT EVEN OPEN AND THEY DISNT SAY IT WAS CLOSED IT SUCKED I DROVE 20 minutes AND THEY WERE CLOSED. MY SON WAS SO SAD AND HE CRIED THE RIDE BACK
Im the Team Lead of a Grand Prairie daycare and when I say I HATE the way they speak to children, I mean it. Id never allow anyone to treat kids the way they do. I would have complained to the manager...but, hes the one who was yelling at not only mine but ALL daycare children. Sad part is I bet they dont treat kids that are there with their parents that way. Jokes on them, I stood up for my gang just fine. We arent going back....
Had a birthday party right at the front of the snack bar and it left no room for others to sit with snacks and watch skaters. Also you can not get menu items. Would not sell me a hotdog as those were for party only. Seems like parties take precedence over all.I paid over $30.00 for skating and snacks, I guess me and mine dont count as much as their party revenue.
Good place for teen to hang out. no real food. just junk food. needs more lighting outside.
I go there almost every friday I love it
Safe environment..great for all ages..the owner loves to help all!!
My husband and I came here to have fun and get our minds off the fact Hurricane Harvey may take our home away. The atmosphere there didnt help. Kids flying everywhere and knocking people over while the referee encourages the horeplay.
Great staff and service. A little warm inside.
Been going here since I could walk I miss clay the owner but his son and his sons wife is doing a amazing job with the place hope to see this place stay open for a long time so my kids and their kids could hang out and skate like I do and like my mom did when she was younger this place right here as the best employees and just a great place to hangout with family and friends and skate.
Went on Sunday and it wasnt packed which was good. 4 wheeler skates included in the price and inline skates for an additional $4. Food over priced with no refills on soda or water. Staff was helpful.
It’s ok, tons of kids. They’re in desperate need of new inline skates .
I had to much fun here I came here with my friends and we had a very fun time I then had my birthday party here and it was so cool I got to choose the music and it was an amazing experience and I would and do recommend familys coming here
Very family focused and friendly staff make every visit memorable and fun.
Great place to take the kids or just to get away and live the younger years again.
I love this place its so fun and I go there once a week the staff and the owner r so fun to talk to .Its just a great place
It was fun but i also fell alot it was my first experience
Skateland is located on the outskirts of Irving heading towards Grand prairie. Skateland continues to serve as the weekend attraction for local high school and middle school teens. The music is billboard top 30 just about every weekend
Love the remodeling they recently added, but I also miss the old way it was since I have had many memories there. The workers at skateland have really showed that they care about the people in the rink. I will definitely come back for the longest and recommend that you give it a shot here.. Frim the outside its not so pretty but once you get inside its like your back in the 70s, the age of skating. Also.. The cashier at the front tells some funny jokes once in while you go there. He makes everyone laugh and I want to thank him for making our $4-7 or 8(not sure in the weekends.. usually I just toss him a ten) worth it :)
Old school skating rink. Safe to drop the kids off and reasonable prices.
Had a great time here with my girlfreind!! The employees were friendly and nice. The inline skate rentals I rented were just ok. The snack bar sold out of food fast when we went. I look forward to going back soon
I hate the people who work here. Always watching you like you are a stupid customer! They yell at kids and automatically assume that kids are going to cause trouble. The employees have bad attitudes and hate their jobs. They think its okay to take out their anger on the children. I cant walk from one side to the other without being told, hey find a spot and sit down. I give this place a -10 star review.
Love this place. Owner super friendly
One of my favorite places! Current events include Rolling Rebellion summet camp (jr derby) and Underworld (adult derby training). A great place for birthday parties or to just roll around and forget how troubles.
Kindof run down but great for kids partys.
Friendly staff reasonable snack bar not too busy
Kids love it their. $5 Thursday 6 pm.with hour class and skats.
I love spending time here with my friends!!! we always have fun and the people who work here are amazing!!!!
I love how everything is and everyone is friendly amd is an amazing place to skate in.
It is cool and it is the amazing thing I ever seen in my whole life!
This was the best skating rink by far that i found from Garland to Arlington. Every place I visited was dirty, old, falling apart and extremenly dissapointing. I ran across Mid-Cities Skateland online and went to see it before having my daughters 7th birthday party there. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it was old but it was clean, the rink is gigantic, the snack bar was clean as were the restrooms. I booked it and the party was a success.
LOVE THIS PLACE! Take my kids almost every saturday
Great place had fun and its a great place to take the kids
One of the better looking skating rings that Ive been in.
It was fun, nice friendly staff, funny manager/owner. Clean environment with everything you would expect from a skate rink.
We enjoyed it so much fun fun place
This place brings back so many memories of my childhood but when I went no too long ago, I realized how old I really am.
Horrible management and workers. Would never recommend this place. Glad this place is closing owners let a elderly man who was family to them skate around and harrass little girls and did nothing about it.
Great place to take the little ones on Sunday night
Lots of fun for kids and reliving the old days
Me and my fiance went here during our senior year field trip and I was trying to call them when I found out they closed down perminantly just yesterday :( Im so sad.
Dont go drunk. You will be sore tomorrow
Extremely fun and the variety of both food and candy
