The Mustangs Of Las Colinas Are Spectacular Considered One of the Most Beautiful Sculptures Globally. The Fountains Turn Off Every Evening @ 6 p.m. so Best to go Before. We Were There After 6 But Definitely Plan to Go BackThe Whole Area is Decorated & Glitters for the Holidays.Highly Recommend it if in Dallas Area.... Its Soooo Worth It
Great place for tourists. That whole area is beautiful. Great restaurants, not the same after Covid. But still highly b recommend.
Even though it said they were open they werent but it was cool seeing the Mustangs. Great restaurants by the way
Just night walking around The Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum and found a beautiful sculpture of 8 giant Mustang. My 4 stars is because they need more light at night to show the beauty of this gem.
The place is nice and very clean. With the virus going on some folks kept their distance. The water didnt go high enough for the mustangs to give that iconic look and feel of the Mustangs crossing the water, however were a great start. A calming effect of the water gave the impression of it Babbling Brook so to speak. A person could stay here for hours the lose track of time sipping on tea and listening to relaxing jazz music.
Fantastic place. I really enjoyed a lot and I just learned those important details on exhibits.
Its a peaceful place to sit down and watch and listen of running water around you and enjoy the that come from all the time in night .
Awesome Zen spot.. nice place to get yourself leveled
Beautiful view and great experience for going out and dining.
So cool ! Neat & clean, nice area.
For the many years that they have been here, the Mustangs of Las Colinas have held a top position among favorite show places to visit, especially with out-of-state friends. It was only during my last visit, that I realized there is also a museum .., Bonus! The museum is small, and air-condition, if you happen to be visiting in the hot part of the day.I enjoy an evening stroll through the plaza after dinner. The mustang are artistically highlighted after dark.
Friendly staff, some great exhibits and great price.
Statues were neat, but little other to see.
A beautiful and for me personally, memorable landmark that is a favorite of my wife and mine.
For all visitors to Dallas, this is a MUST-SEE. One has to check the museum timings, but the sculpture is always open for all on the way to the airport, just off 114. As many times as I have come here, I always walk around the mustangs, admire the breath-taking beauty of each sculpture in the painstaking detail with which they have been built.
This scupluture were designed in Nairobi capital city og my motherland
OMG. I had seen photos of this place many years ago and wanted to visit ever since. It did not disappoint. The sculptures and fountain (hoof splashes) were even more impressive than I could have imagined. The horse sculptures radiate energy, strength, and perseverance, and are astoundingly beautiful. The splashes their hooves make in the water add a magical reality to it all. I could completely imagine real mustangs running across the plaza.I chose to visit at night because of the added dimension of it all lit up in the dark. It was spectacular and having only a few other people pass through made it even more special.I will be visiting during the day next time though to be able to enjoy them in day light as well.I was also pleasantly surprised with the surrounding water feature and the steps and elevation changes of the surrounding area. From photos, Id thought it was just a flat, round area they were running through. Its much more and is well done. Now I fully understand why this design won three awards, including one from the ASLA and one from the ULI, it is spectacular.
Ive LOVED the mustangs since discovering them with my high school sweetheart when I was 15. They are a MUST SEE when youre in Dallas/For Worth!!!
I love this spot. Especially when theres open parking on the street adjacent to these majestic creatures. I dont know why Im so drawn to this place, but Ive found myself here taking photos of these guys several times over the recent years.Side note: be prepared to be confronted by security if you look professional, while snapping those photos (i.e., if you break out the tripod). Without fail, the moment I attach my camera to a tripod, security makes a beeline for my position. They must have a prewritten script on what to say,and it goes something like this:Are you taking these photos for commercial purposes? No, sir. Just for fun. I break into a big smile for emphasis on how much fun Im having for no monetary profit. So, you dont plan on selling these photos then? No, Sir, I do not.Okay, have a nice day.All that was to say, you can take as many photos as you like here, but you cant sell them or market them for monetary gain. Just be prepared for the above conversation. The mustangs are very photogenic and worth a stop if youre nearby!
Water wasnt working. But still beautiful sculptures
Beautiful sculpture!
This place is cool right on a lake where you can eat or rent water toys.
, This should be 5 stars but the fountain is empty and it seems dry and I used to work in this building some 20 plus years ago I boys left los calenus at these Mustangs
I absolutely love this place to visit! The best romantic spot!
This place was amazingly nice too bad the person I was with was a basket case
Cool sculptures but the museum across the plaza closed at 5, so theres not much to see there. 15 minutes was all it took.
I first proposed to my wife over 25 years ago at this location so we took the opportunity to revisit it. The area around it has changed significantly but the statues have stood the test of time. It is still a quiet (on the weekend) beautiful place to visit.
Rude security guard there !!!!, i have been there today with my kids my son was riding his bike there we didnt know the rules that my son should park his bike before taking pictures near the horses status, the security guard yelled on my 8 yeas son!! Please train the building guards to be nice to people !!!!
This place is very calm & relaxing!! I just love taking some pictures and talking to my friends at this place.
Beautiful Sculptures. Worth a Detour. PARKING SPACE is really limited
I understand this sculptures water feature is undergoing renovation, so Ill review based upon what it looks like when the water feature is working. For something so well-known, this sculpture is oddly hidden. Once youre able to park and walk over to see it, however, its really impressive. The details in the horses is intricate, and the water fountains at their hooves really give the illusion of motion of the horses. I can imagine if you work in the building itself, it can be a relaxing place to decompress on a stressful day. I lived in the area for six months a while back, and I passed this sculpture every day on the way to work. It always made me smile! (And of course, us oldies will remember the sculpture as featured in the opening credits of the TV series, Dallas!)
This is a huge open area plaza in a nice part of town. There are a few shops around, but it feels like more of a Monday-Friday business area. This is a great picture spot, and I highly recommend taking the family here for a quick break and burn off some energy!
Stunning public sculpture stands in the middle of plaza. It was a tremendous experience when you walk close to the horses. The foundations creates the splashes was a very clever idea to simulate the atmosphere and scene of the horses cross the river.I can even feel the wild west spirit and American culture without words, although I am a foreign tourist. Outstanding spot must see if youre nearby Dallas or Fort worth.
This is a very cool set of sculptures to see. There is even 2 hour free parking along the street in front of the area. There are many spots that you could find to have a seat while enjoying the weather and water.
Its always been a beautiful place to visit and relax on a cool evening.
Just a pretty place with some fun history. Great for family and couples pictures. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful statues! Amazing water feature!
Very calm, soothing and relaxing place. I love to go and sit there.
Have loved this place since i was a kid. The mustang statues are awesome. Take your kids and family there. They will love it
The mustang were beautiful! But just to warn you... They dont like animals in that area... Weither you carry them or not... Security wasnt very polite about it, kept saying that it was posted at the kiosk... With the huge entry area we went straight from our parked vehicle to where the Mustangs were at. So Mr. Security could have been a bit nicer about it and not assume we went to the kiosk to read your no pet animals allowed sign first.
Still under construction, but as you can see, still managed to have fun...
I seen these in Dallas .wonderful i knows its its a story a bout them as well.peoples love going there.
The water was off for some reason. It was such a nice day too.
Beautifully sculpted wild horses in the middle of the office district gives you a glimpse of what this whole area looked like a thousand years back!
Nice place to hang out in the evening
Its office building. Is Beautiful inside and quite luxury, some important insurance companies are here
Nice place to sit and relax!
This place is good for night visit only.
This exhibit is spectacular, a must see if in the area, also the curator in the small museum is wonderful, you can tell she loves her job and is dedicated and loyal to the artist and all art. Loved loved loved it!!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS AREA IN IRVING. Ive lived in Irving for 6 years and this is still one of my favorite places to go and have a peaceful stroll. Theyve added lots of restaurants and totally redid parts of the landscape which has added to the beauty without forsaking the tranquil feel.
I love this statue. The horses are so lifelike.
Beautiful statues in a peaceful downtown (at least when I visited after business hours).
Always under construction... Really nice when the fountain works and is clean.
Beautiful bronze equestrian sculptures - Great place to take a walk and stroll about. Supposedly the largest of its kind.
Great place to visit with family or friends.
One BEAUTIFUL place open to the public there to enjoy take your CAMERA
Big open space to view the sculptures, impressive architecture all around and close proximity to some high end eateries. The canal of running water adds a touch of serenity and is great for photo ops.
Pleasant place. Always come here for a walk. Peaceful for night walks.
Fountains we turned off and basin emptied of water while repair or restoration was underway yet it looked like repairs had been ongoing indefinitely. Bright friends to see this great landmark for the first time. They were underwhelmed.
Beautiful, great for your visit memories
The Mustangs of Las Colinas is a breathtakingly realistic bronze sculpture of nine wild mustangs galloping across a granite stream. Adjacent to the sculpture, in the East Tower of Williams Square Plaza, is the Mustangs of Las Colinas Museum. In the museum, visitors learn the story of the eight years of work African wildlife artist Robert Glen invested in creating the Mustangs.
Nice Place went to see Independence day fireworks..
The Illusion of Movement in Static Art.
Cool sculptures in the heart of Las Colinas. Across the street there are some shops and restaurants that provide a nice vibe. Cool to visit like once as the sculptures are detailed but I cant think of going more than once. Also a pokestop if youre into that.
Its a nice place love the horses.
Fun place to visit and take pictures anytime.
An amazing piece of installation art work if you have time during the day go see the museum inside.
Great place for walking and clean place but staffs were not welcoming.
They need to put under construction signs and block the area off til its fixed. We went after the sun went down to see it lit up and when we got there.. it was dark n no water or anything.. people were still there sitting around.. we couldnt tell it was under construction until you walked up close.. since we drove all the way out we decided to sit a little bit until my son who is 7 fell. He couldnt see the ground drop like 8ft. He landed on his hands and knees and was later checked out to be ok. Yes, probably bad idea we stayed with kids, but we werent the only ones...they need to put SOME signs out!!
Great place to relax
Lived by these magnificent sculptures and never realized that they are the inspiration of Irving streets. That or the fact that Irving is built on tons of dirt from the Trinity river bottoms when they redirected it to make Downtown Dallas
One of the top architectural place in Irving, I can say in the DFW area. People from far area comes to see that, I mustangs look really live, specially during the night time on the light and water. Its really a refreshing place to visit and to spend time. Its in Las Colinas, right beside the Marriott hotel. They do have 2 hrs free parking option. Good place to visit in Las Colinas.
Terrible experience. I was out front by the horse statues taking pictures with my family and my SERVICE dog when the security guard with a tuxedo came out in a hurry and rudely yelled at me no dogs allowed and tried to kick me out with out letting me explain myself. There are no signs when you cross from the walkway. Never coming back.
This is an iconic place in the middle of DFW. Unfortunately, the fountains are torn out for repair. No signs, no idea when it will be fixed. Too bad...will not be back in the area for several years and hoped to get a few pictures of the family in front of the fountains to recreate a photo from 20 years ago.
Iconic place to visit. Lots of places to eat around this area too
Nice place to walk with your loved ones. The water fountain adds a charm to this place
Good place. We usually play ping pong here. One suggestion is to place a net in between two boards as the ball from other board frequently disturbs the play.
Nice statue.....typical texas
This place is amazing. It is clean. It is peaceful. Its has a huge ground space for kids and adults to run around. Play around. There are quite a few places to eat and relax. I like the evening and late night vibe here. The river walk is always mesmerizing. There are benches and trash cans everywhere which is good. I love this place after 10 especially during late night.
Although I understand the water not being on due to environmental or construction - maybe it should be replaced with a splash pad (seasonal water management) or have local artist pave a river for the mighty mustangs to run through - or _ something similar.
I am a true horse lover, and though the water portion was drained, the sculptures made up for it. Stunning sculpture located across from a small shopping center and multiple eateries. It is also walking distance from the canal and minutes from a gondola ride.
The foutain and museum are closed for renovation. The mustangs were worth the trip. Magnificent bronze sculptures, life size. 9 of all ages.
Beautiful statues of the Mustangs! Great place to walk around or sit and enjoy the rushing waters. The Mustangs are larger than life size and absolutely stunningly life like. There is also other things to view if you have time. Indoors is a museum and on the back side is part of Lake Carolyn which offers great views of the sunset.A huge plus if you play Pokemon Go there are two gyms located here and eight poke stops.
Wonderful!
Pretty sculptures beautiful didnt realize how big they were so lifelike
It has always been good feeling there but this time no water and lights so bit disappointed. Lot of new development in the area, so looking forward to visit again soon and hopefully at that time fountains and lights will be on too.
This is a must see if you are traveling in the area. Breathtaking statues of magnificent horses in bronze. Also, make a point to go in the Mustang museum across from the statues. Well worth the visit and all free.
One evening after visiting the park nearby we decided to drive by the Williams Square and finally see Mustangs. I was really impressed how real they look.. The sculpture is massive, almost real sized horses (maybe even a bit bigger), very detailed and it felt as they just stopped for a photo and will run away.. I loved how they looked in the evening, with Christmas light around in Williams Square towers. The fountain is very nice too.If you are in the area I would definitely recommend to visit Mustangs of Las Colinas.
Had A nice time
