Im new to the whole clubbing scene here in LA. Quite honestly, I didnt want to check out a lot of these venues because Im not into ultra classy/small dress clubs with obnoxious hiphop. But ever since my friends have accidentally discovered this place, Im willing to try out more places.
I go here several times a year and I enjoy their Productions and offerings every time. You can park and have a meal right across the street if you like.Small enough so there is not a bad seat in the house. They offer a very comfortable, contemporary environment. A thoughtful touch is that at intermission coffee and tea are both self-serve off to the side which cuts down on wait time considerably.
We recently attended a ballet production of The Nutcracker that was specifically a childrens show. We loved it! The costumes were gorgeous, the dancers were so well-rehearsed, and the theatre is very comfortable and well-arranged. We were up in the second row in the balcony and were able to see everything so clearly. The sound volume was just right - not too loud like some places that blast your eardrums, and not so quiet that you missed anything going on. The ushers were friendly and helpful and got our group comfortably arranged and seated, bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, and easy to get to. Bathrooms are on the first level, and I didnt pay attention to see whether the balcony is wheelchair-friendly or if they have a lift upstairs; we definitely saw several people seated with wheelchairs downstairs on the main level, and the aisles are nice and wide and easy for power or manual chairs, and the venue isnt terribly steep, which is helpful for navigating if you have a heavy chair. Looking forward to more productions here in the future! If you come early, there are plenty of quick food options just across the bridge adjacent to the theatre, and they were well-staffed and very reasonable. This is a college campus, so I would not expect diamond restaurants, but their selections are diverse and Im sure anyone could find something to fit their dietary preferences or needs. Great locale!
Not our first time to the Barclay theater. This visit we saw the Nutcracker, which was an excellent production. The theater is a good size and a great venue. Have enjoyed each show weve been to and look forward to the next show we go to see there.
First time, and had a great time. The venue is set so theres not a bad seat in the house. Saw Asleep at the Wheel tonight and had a blast, definitely will go back for another show.
I traveled from Kansas City, Missouri for a MFBTY concert. Had a very good time. Barclay Theatre was a nice place to hold this event! I hope to visit again for another event!
Very nice, small venue where theres not a bad seat in the house. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is available in the structure next door.
Tiny but very neat theater! I watched Festival Ballet Theaters firebird and it was one of the best performances Ive ever seen. I will come back in the future for more events.
Great performances, reasonable ticket prices. From dance to classical music to theatre. Pretty accessible as parking is close by. An additional plus for UC Irvine faculty, students, and staff as they usually have access to discounted tickets.
Excellent theater. Good accoustics. Near professional level performance by UCI students
Nice mid-sized theater. Not a bad seat in the house. Convenient parking.
Great experience seeing Dianne Shore there!College surrounding and diverse food choices.
I always enjoy this theater because of its ambience and its contemporary environment. There is not a bad seat in the house and it is a good size but not huge. They offer a wide variety of performance options which I enjoy and are reasonably priced. Two tips, at intermission if you only want coffee or tea, skip the line as these are served a long the outside wall to the right of the concession. You can park across the street for free. There are a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, then just walk over the bridge and youll be right at the theater in 5 minutes.
The venue is moderately large. Yet small enough to control the size of the crowd. Love the ticket cost and its location.
A great theater to watch performances at. There isnt a bad seat in the house. Friendly staff too!
Great place to see the ballet! Parking is an extra ten bucks so include that in the price of your ticket or carpool to save money!!! Will be back.
Great location for AMAZING shows at relatively affordable prices. Not a bad seat in the house!
Great and intimate venue ! There are no bad seats at the Barclay.
First time visiting this Theatre located within UCI but not a part of UCI... First time seeing a university level opera production. First time seeing an old friend performing on stage. And it was her first time performing Opera on stage. First time in 8 years for us to meet again. That humorous piece of Die Fledermaus.
Attended a Clint Black (country singer) concert. Excellent intimate concert hall. The seats are situated so theres no obstruction to view the stage.
Always a great show. No bad seats, friendly staff. Take your time and avoid the rush to get out of the parking structure after the show.
Great sized theater. All seats are great seats, sound and sight.
All the staff is very polite and congenial. The venue is elegant but cozy, always providing an intimate artistic experience every time Ive been.
Really not that of a great place
The Barclay Theatre is so classy and beautiful. Please come and take a look at the new live shows that are posted for 2019 and 2020. The tickets for all of their show are so affordable, as well.
Great venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Great variety of shows. Ive seen many different types of shows here from Hawaiian musical artists to comedy shows to dance performances to Cirque shows. Tickets arent cheap but fairly reasonable. Love seeing shows here.
Very nice theater, enjoyed the performance immensely...
This was an AWESOME place to see a concert. Clint Black was better than expected!
Love coming to shows here. Great ushers get you seated quickly. Parking is easy but costs $10.00.
Great Show - Music of WWII
Most seats are very good; acoustics are nice. Staff are terrific. Places to eat within walking distance
Great theater and often fantastic lectures, concerts, etc.
Nice but not memorable venue. What you might expect from a U that leans conservative
Amazing artists in an intimate setting. Live this theater!!!
The ballet was wonderful. Good seating and helpful usheretts.
Fun for a Friday/Saturday night! Get there early to avoid lines. Food could be better, but atmosphere is great! Dueling pianos and lots of singalongs.
The orange outside the theater is yummy
Nice venue. Not huge, so nobody is seated too far from the stage. Temperature was comfortable (many places are kept too cold, imho). Good parking right next door.
Amazing theatre in Irvine, great staff members, we had a nice time there
Comfortable environment and parking garage is nearby and offers assistant transit as needed.
What a great venue! We saw the Nutcracker on a Friday night and everything was absolutely awesome. The show was beautifully done!
Wow fabulous smaller venue with great acoustics. Difficult to find after dark.
Amazing theatre in Irvine. In my opinion. One. Of the. Nicest
This is one of those rare venues that is exactly the right size and where there is not a bad seat in the house, even in the balcony . You are guaranteed an intimate concert experience, a perfect view of a play, and never missing a word in a lecture. The proximity of a parking structure means parking is never a problem.
Lovely small to medium sized theater. The seating is good and comfortable. The sound is good. Parking is $10, not a far walk from the theater. Restaurants and fast food eateries just across the Blvd.
Terrific theater offering varied menu of artists and jandras. Ample parking
We attended the a cappella event which featured Filharmonics. The venue is always exciting as it sit on the University Campus and has an audience that exudes energy. The site is very easy to get to and the parking is very convenient.
Great programming, comfortable, friendly & well run.
Beautiful theatre! Saw Sutton Foster last night and it was very classy. Everyone working their was so nice. Box seats are the best. Not that many box seats but priced the same as balcony. Small theatre, holds 750 people so very intimate for shows. You can drive right up to theatre entrance to drop people off then park ajacent in student parking for $10. Five minute walk from parking. When event is over they provide a driver on a golf cart who will take you to your car if you like. There was no Valet parking. Its right on the campus of UCI in beautiful campus surroundings and venue staffed by students that are very helpful. Use Google Maps to navigate because Barclay burried deep in the campus and not easy to find. If you are from Los Angeles area stop on the way at Knotts Chicken House for dinner, it is on the way and only 30 minutes away. From Los Angeles plan on 1 hour ride.
The seats are set that you always feel like you have great seats. The ushers are incredibly cordial and parking cost is reasonable.
This is a great theater, a mid-size which can accommodate a good number of guests and maintain a respectable acoustic effects. Being located in Irvine, its easy to access from the I-405 ideal for Orange County residents who love the theater and concerts.
Considering the size of UCI the theater is fairly small and intimate. Getting in and out of the theater and moving around inside is very easy. Although I have only attended lectures, the acoustics seem excellent.
Fantastic show. Best place in OC for a concert. Not a bad seat in the house.
Very nice venue in a great area with plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
I saw this cutie, I love my boy!!!
Great, intimate venue.
Not a professional concert hall for classical music, but adequate with proper setup. Very nice venue!
I love coming to this theater. All seats are great & has enjoyable acoustics.
Show Quality, Terrific performance by the Wooden Floor Through the Trees
We caught an afternoon show here. The location is convenient for folks in central OC, with great parking and comfortable seating.
Very nice theater for arts performances and lectures; on campus of University of California, Irvine
The concert so good. The Barclay so very nice.
Nice Easter performance. Great sound theater. We when to see Mens Alive show Greetings from California Great!
Comfortable seats, lovely theatre! Very well run by a pleasant and helpful staff, enjoyable evening!!
I played there. great sound, big hall
This is a first-rate venue located in the heart of the UC Irvine campus. The staff here is extremely friendly, helpful. I have traveled to many venues with various musicians and most venues dont treat you very well. The theater itself is beautiful and well kept, in fact its spotless and its the perfect place to listen to music.
Its very easy to find the theater since it is located right inside UCI. The prices for the plays are relatively cheap so thats always good. And you can find even cheaper prices on Gold Star for most of the shows playing here. What I love the most has to be the great layout of the place. I like that you can sit all the way in the back and still see everything clearly since the theater is smaller than most. In my opinion the best seating is the front row on the balcony. Its a great theater.
Parking and finding the place is a little bit of a chore. But nice n cozy. Pleasant staff, and nice venue. Seats could be a tad more comfy
The best shows and great venue! They always have deals for students
Great music and event venue, just the right size maybe 750 seats.
Love events there so organization
Saw the nutcracker there last week, wonderful acoustics and good comfortable seating
Love this theater. Not a bad seat in the house. I like the variety of shows and live performances hosted here. Nearby parking is convenient.
Best shows and they offer student rates! I love the variety of shows they have! Great views from any seat really! We go here once a month almost and always have a good time.
Love the theater. Amazing experience for my daughter to perform on a real stage. My only disappointment was having to buy a ticket for my nine month old baby who was lap sitting for a dance recital.
Awesome theater. Ive been been here like five times and all the times that Ive been here is a great experience. Awesome events and always clean. Good customer service and affordable.
I’ve been performing here for most of my life and service has always been amazing. the stage crew is super helpful and they are very involved. i 11/10 recommend this theater!!
Saw Nutcracker, superb
I love that they often have international flamenco artist - its awesome!
Loved this theatre. Great comfortable seats. Bad parking for $10, they only have one bathroom per floor. They let in late arrivals.
Nice theatre went there to see ballet.Just dont forget to turn off your phone.
Saw Legally Blonde. It was great!
Fine theater but parking is more expensive than ahmanson in LA!
Quality theater on UC Irvine campus. Many different types of shows, parking structure close.
Loved todays concert!!!
Superb venue. Great viewing from anywhere, quality sound system and magnificent production of “Chess”Wonderful cast from choir to headliners
Saw an excellent play about Martin Luther. Great facility!
A small theater good for live performances. I went to go see a viewing of the National Theater Live performance of Behind the Beautiful Forevers. The screen was nice and big to see the play. The attendants here were all very nice. Parking is a bit of pain as there is only paid parking unless you brave the plaza only parking across the street.
Smaller theater. Fascinating shows. All kinds of restaurants across the street. Courteous staff.
Amazing location to watch performances and lectures
Beautiful facility kept in top condition. Friendly and helpful staff. Had a delightful time there.
Nice location with good acoustics.
Outstanding venue. Great staff.
Spacious. Very organized
Saw the nutcracker and it was amazing!! Brilliant sets with incredible dancers!!
