A very nice outdoors store with a decent selection and variety of merchandise ranging from hunting, fishing, camping, apparel, etc. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. However, they are ridiculously overpriced on most items. Just way too expensive. A pair of winter gloves I was interested in buying was $90!! A small credit card holder I liked was right at $100!! I lost interest in both real quick. Your average $15-$20 tshirts were marked $30-$40. Their ammo was reasonably priced though. If money isnt an issue for you, its a nice place.

If youre looking for a firearm, go here before scheels. I know little to nothing about their apparel, but their firearms counter is wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable, and great to work with. Theyre happy to order in anything they dont have, and give you a ring when they get it. Ive filled out 3 background check 4473s there. Every time it was quick, painless, and I wouldve been out of there in 30 minutes. But I always have a good time chatting with the guys behind the counter and learning a couple new things about building, and brands of firearms.

Love this place, they have all kinds of things for hunting, backpacking, hiking, fishing,boating, mountaineering, and most other active outdoor activities. Large selection of guns and bows. Lots of fishing poles of all kinds and large livewells with a variety of fish. They sell kayaks and canoes, tents, hammocks, hanging tents, roof racks and containers for vehicles, decoys and hides for hunting and much more.

Clint, the firearms manager, is kind, courteous and very helpful. His knowledge is very expansive and is very helpful answering questions. Austin at the gun counter is the same also, very knowledgeable and helpful. Colton in archery is knowledgeable and quick to help. I agree with some of the other reviews that their prices are definitely towards the top but the service is always very good. They carry too quality brands.

Great selection in this store. Good prices. Went in to look at fishing gear but stopped at the knife counter. The lady who helped me was exceptionally knowledgeable about brands, steels, opening mechanisms, and so on. Very pleasant to work with. Incredible number of rods and reels to look at. Overall a future favorite stop for me.

I had an issue with my arrow rest coming loose and they got me in that evening and had it fixed up, lined up, and shooting 1 groups at 30 yards within 30 minutes. I also had some issues with some new arrows. Colton took time to help me out and get me fixed up. Customer service, attitude, knowledge, atmosphere, friendliness, skills, education, ... I could go on all day. Every category. 6 out of 5 stars. These guys are great to learn from and to just chat with. Lifelong customer. Thanks Colton!

Good selection but very overpriced.

I dont like leaving negative reviews but here it is. The only reason I ever went here was for firearms and ammunition. Both of which I will never purchase here again. The employees at the firearms counter are full of themselves. Apparently selling firearms makes you above everyone else. Read the other negative reviews pertaining to the hunting department. They are pretty accurate. And within the last couple years they rearranged the store. The ammunition was located on a wall more in the center and to the back of the store and is now located directly in front of the firearms counter. The selection of ammunition is nothing what it was. And it wasnt excellent to begin with. Now its so poor that I no longer have a need to go back. Nor will I ever. I now do business with Scheels who treats me as a human being and also has a better selection.

They have a good inventory of items. Clean, professional store.I wish they would drop the prices on their fly fishing stuff. Some items are marked up $50 more then what you could pay for online. It would be nice if you could negotiate prices a little bit or drop them a little.

Whenever I go there, I always miss the fly fishing expert and get someone who doesnt fly fish. Otherwise great place to shop.

I returned an unused sleeping bag because a seam was torn. Instead of crediting my account, they debited it again, so I paid twice for an item that I did not even have. When I called, the manager Tom was quite rude, and passive aggressive, telling me that I had to come into the store in person to sort it out. He did not apologize to me, and when I asked if there was something they could do to make it right, he continued with the passive aggressive treatment, finally giving me a handwritten note for 10% off one item, and only after my telling him that I own a digital marketing agency and would never put the burden on my customers/ clients like he had done. The original return was also an unpleasant experience - the saleslady doing her very best to turn the onus on me, suggesting that the rip was my fault. Its a pity, since one wants to support local businesses, but as others have said, the prices are too high and the service is lousy. Would not recommend.

We had excellent service. At least 4 people acknowledged us and were friendly and professional.Looked at several different items in different areas of the store and each sales person had knowledge of what we were looking for and were able to answer all of our questions.

Support local businesses! This shop has as much or better selection of camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting gear as any of the big box stores. Their staff are usually more mature and very knowledgeable. Their firearms experts have been to training and seminars at major gun manufacturers, and they were helped me determine what would work best for my hunting and home defense needs.

I am new to the Midwest and was woefully underprepared for the cold. The staff at Fin & Feather was extremely helpful in getting me what I needed to better prepare me for my first winter here. I highly recommend shopping here!

Place wasnt as good as a Cabelas or Outdoor Life, but they had a decent selection of things. Worth checking out anyway.

This is Iowa Citys equivalent to REI. Dont miss Fin & Feather if you are in need for literally anything outdoorsy. My girls love the slack line and stand we picked up on sale during the winter. During the summer their boathouse and its rentals on a nearby lake are super fun.
