This is where my Great Great Grandfather who died at the Union POW Camp Morton finally rests. It is a beautiful place, but hundreds of Confederate POWs are buried in a space of 40 feet by 20 feet. Very Sad Indeed.
Paying homage to our history, good or bad is important. And our grandchildren need to learn it too.
You’ll be dying to get in. The crowd’s a little stiff but they know how to get down. The only grave concern I have is with the visitors, who all look like they just came from a funeral. A good place to bury your woes and rest In peace. Just be sure you don’t dig yourself in too deep or you’ll feel like death the next morning.
