Really awesome experience for a smaller aquarium. The staff were really nice and helpful. I went an hour or two before they closed so there were a couple things that I didnt get to experience, but still really cool. The one thing that I noticed that bothered me was that there were a couple places where there was something to be read but it was dark enough to make reading a little difficult.
We LOVE it here! Truly one of the hidden gems in Idaho Falls. For being relatively small and run by a non profit, we were surprised at how many animals and fish there are to see, and how many opportunities there are for feeding and interacting with them! You can do the whole place in about an hour and a half, and admission is very reasonably priced. We will always come back!
There is so many things to see and do here for kids and adults alike. I enjoyed feeding the birds and the Iguanas. The shark tank is fun to see. They had a few exhibits closed. Overall a Great experience for my grandson and I.
This is a fantastic place to take the kids or just go on an outing. Always expanding great interaction with the animals. We go every year at least a couple times.
Small but cute! I love aquariums and they had some small sharks!!!!! Also love petting the stingrays and feeling tiny fish tickle my hand. They also had a porcupine! I know its an aquarium but the porcupine is so cute! They had some snakes and lizards as well that were cool to look at. Again its small but really cute and I loved it!
This was a great family outing! Friendly staff, clean exhibits, and well cared for animals. We loved interacting with all of the different species. It was so much fun to be able to feed Rufus the porcupine. Cant wait to return again with the family!!
Swimming with the sharks was awesome. Once in a lifetime opportunity! Had a blast
Coolest aquarium I’ve ever been to, if you want a very interactive attraction for your family. This place is definitely worth it. Feeding the iguanas and the porcupine was awesome. We loved petting the stingrays and letting the shrimp clean our hands/nails. Super neat and kid friendly!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The stingrays were definitelyy favorite. The ability to interact was awesome. The employees were so kind. The porcupine, Rufus, was adorable. My boyfriend and I had a blast and we will be going as frequently as possible.
Great place to visit on a raining day. Kind of small but interesting sealife and more.
Fun spot to stop for a couple hours. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Our 18 month old daughter had a blast. Its hands on in a few exhibits and you have to see rufus the porcupine.
Absolutely wonderful its so interactive for kids and its a fabulous fabulous Aquarium. That was four adults and two children and we all had a great time will definitely be back.
I enjoyed the visit much more than I thought I would. Although not as large or complete as some aquariums I have visited, I was thrilled to see a inland town the size of Idaho Falls have an aquarium at this level. A number of displays feature advertising of commercial sponsors but it doesnt detract from the features. Several hands on types of displays and interaction with some of the fish and other animals (birds and reptiles). Great for introducing children to the wonders of marine life. Plan for a visit of about an hour or hour and a half in length.
My family and I went here for my little sisters birthday and it was really fun. Its a hands-on experience with most of the fish in the aquarium. It has a ton of cool sights to see. Its a bit expensive and it would probably be more popular if they dropped the price just a bit. For now, Id say that its great for special occasions or when youre dropping by town to sightsee. Remember to bring short-sleeve shirts!
This was a strange aquarium to visit. It was more like fish store which was endorsed by a lot of local medical professionals in the area that you can occasionally feed the animals at.Its nice that the aquarium is trying to bring awareness to the community and educate people, but without proper funding to continue care, its really not healthy to keep those animals tanked up like that.Place was severely overpriced. Floor was a tripping hazard as well.
It was fun the kids had fun. I only gave four stars though because they did not have the animal food stocked and did not tell us beforehand. We bought 10 coins for animal food except we were only able to use four of them. On the plus side we were able to exchange them in the gift shop for a little lesser value
Great staff and very kind. My daughter had such an amazing time. The best are was being able to feed the porcupine!
Great little aquarium! Lots of interactive exhibits- you can feed parakeets, rays, fish, and iguanas for really cheap and can have cleaner shrimp and fish clean your hands- its a lot of fun!
Lots of fun this time. The first time was shortly after they had opened and we were all disappointed. This time we all had a great time. Go again!
Great fun for kids age 4 to 12. We had the most amazing employee who took the kids in the bird and lizard cage.
Its a nice aquarium with some fun interactive exhibits. My only concern is the sting ray exhibit. The steps you use to step up and pet the Rays are the same color as the floor. My mother who is in her 80s did not see the step and tripped and fell over the step. It would be nice if some sort of contrast/stickers was placed on the steps to make them more noticeable.
My 7 yo enjoyed it here. Not only fish but they also had iguanas, parakeets, shrimp, pythons, parrots, poison dart frogs, toads, etc. A lot of the animals were absolutely miserable though. Its maybe the size of a medium sized office complex so you can guess how tiny a lot of the cages/tanks were. Really depressing to be honest. I wouldnt come back
This was the first time my family and I have been to an aquarium and it was a lot of fun. The mermaid show was fun and the animals were really neat. Also the staff was very curtious, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Great small aquarium. My 6 y/o daughter loves to feed animals. She loved feeding 6+ different fish/animals. This was a great experience for the whole family.
Employees, though friendly and helpful, do not wear masks or practice social distancing. Visitors are also not required to wear masks. At least half the other visitors in this very small space were not wearing masks and there is a county mandate in place. Social distancing was not being practiced. If you are at all immunocompromised or concerned about COVID-19, this is not a safe place to visit. There is also unfortunately more information displayed about the sponsors than the animals/fish.My kids had a good time, and doing the feeding activities was definitely the highlight.
Awesome experience for Thanksgiving...all of the food was free to feed everything!
This is a great place to bring your children. There are many hands-on exhibits including rays (which my kids loved), parakeets, iguanas, and much more. I was impressed with how many different exhibits and thanks there were. The pricing isnt too bad, either. My wife, two kids, and myself cost about $42 to visit. We were here for at least 2 hours. I highly recommend visiting.
Very cool and informational. Interacting with the animals made it way more fun.
Excellent customer service, the fish, lizards, and birds were so fun to see and feed, and it was overall a great experience. Definitely would go again!
Staff is VERY friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Fun place to be and spend two hours. You get to touch a lot of fish. I thought the price of tokens to feed the animals was steep.
A great place to take your kid and see exotic fish.
Great fun, love the hands on experiences! Excellent exhibits and animals!
I was underwhelmed with the experience this aquarium had to offer. Most concerning was the standard of care for the animals. The exhibits were very small and crowded.I was extremely disappointed to see betta fish for sale in their gift shop with a suggested tank that was way too small.
No need to go scuba diving after going here! This was an interactive aquarium that was a lot of fun! Opportunities to touch fish, stingrays, and feed a porcupine. Highly recommend, well worth the $12.
I absolutely loved this aquarium! They didnt look that big from the outside but the inside totally makes up for it! They have plenty of fish that you can feed, but also birds and iguanas! I had a lot of fun! I will definantly go again!
Not only is it well kept but you can have shrimp, and fish clean your hand as long as youre gentle with them. You can also feed birds, stingrays, and lizards. Very interactive aquarium, had a lot of fun.
A very amazing experience. The staff were very polite. Hands on exhibits. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours.
Great place. My Daughter loved it.
This aquarium is unbelievable for being local and fairly new. All the tanks seemed clean and all the sea life appeared well taken care of. The interactive tanks were amazing, especially the rays. Where else are you going to hand feed rays in East Idaho? We loved every minute. The arapaima was the show stealer, being able to feed that monster of a fish was absolutely amazing. So glad to have an aquarium close by, we will definitely be back! I hope they can continue to be successful and eventually grow into a bigger space with more exhibits.
Wow! Im suprised little idaho Falls has an aquarium of this size. Its fun, interesting, and my 6 year old loved it!
Pretty great for a city the size of Idaho Falls. Call ahead to find out when the mermaid show is.
I love it its so cool that you can feed a lot of animals and touch them I got a stofed animal mawcaw
Fun small aquarium. Buying a couple of tokens is totally worth it. We loved the parakeets and the stingrays. We wish we had bought more tokens to be able to feed the iguanas and Rufus the porcupine. Expect to spend at least an hour and a half to see most of the animals. You could spend even more time if you read all the fun signs and looked at every exhibit. Loved our visit so much!
Loved all the interactive experiences offered. We fed the stingrays, held starfish and touched the iguanas. Super fun for my family!
They had stingrays which where fun to feed but this place was a dump. Everything was run down, scratched up and messily glued together, and spider webs on everything. Not worth the money! Staff was snippy. $12 to get in $9 for my 3yo and $10 for 4 tokens to get a tiny chunk of food. Will not return, would not recomend.
I love this place the staff is friendly and the exhibited are fun. My favorite are the Lizards and Sting Rays. Also for the nice employee girl with the IT hat Im the chick with the yellow makeup and cool eyeliner :) (Insta: Marni_Mar_Marin)
Small but it is fun.. like rufus the porcupine. he was friendly.
An amazing hands on experience here at the Aquarium. Our toddler loves this place. The employees are all helpful, knowledgeable, and most important kind to visitors. We have gone here three times and loved it. Great place for our kiddo to learn about the animals that share our planet and how to respect them. Thank you for this wonderful place to educate youth and adults. Also the animals seem very happy and well cared for each time we went.
Cute little aquarium. Probably only need about 45 mins to an hour to get through the whole place. Pretty interactive! Make sure to let the cleaning shrimp and fish clean your hands!
This is the third time we have gone this summer (thanks to the grandparent pass :) On the pricey side of activities, but I think they do a good job for its size. We stayed there over two hours seeing everything and watching the mermaid show. I thought she did a fun job. Loved her enthusiasm (they usually do the show on Saturday at 2, but call ahead because the mermaid was sick and they were cleaning the sting ray tank so we couldnt pet the rays the last Saturday we went). It is quite interactive, especially if you buy the tokens (between $1.90-3 a piece depending on how many you buy at once) to get to feed the sting rays, parakeets (my kids favorite), reptiles, big river fish, porcupine, and we fed the scorpion fish this time too. Great for all ages.
Our family had so much fun. We were happy we had the chance to feed so many animals like the sting Rays, iguanas, fish, porky pine, and all the birds. It was neet being able to go into some of the cages to interact with the animals. The young boy who volunteers is so sweet and very knowledgeable with all the animals. We all had a great time!
This was the most interactive smaller-scale aquarium Ive ever been to! You can feed lots of the animals, and hold an iguana. The only downside is that it is a little small, and some of the exhibits are less than professional, but its still a ton of fun! Use the DoorStep app to save money on tickets.
Fun-ish. Short for what you pay for. The iguana feeding and stingrays are fun. I hope they can eventually move into a nicer facility and take care of it better than the place they are in right now.
I GOT TO HOLD AN IGUANA. We vibe with education and conservation bro.
Today was the second time visiting the aquarium. Last time I was there was roughly two years when it first opened. It was brand new at the time and didn’t have much so I didn’t put much thought into how I felt about it.But I was utterly disgusted going through the aquarium this time. As a former aquarist for a much larger facility I was disgusted by how filthy all the exhibits were. I was mortified to see a bearded dragon laying in the bottom of their iguana exhibit... He could have been seriously injured and there was no heat sources for him. The amount of large birds just shoved against walls in small cages didn’t help how I get either. And the children standing in as “attendant” who offered no guidelines on how to properly interact with touch tanks killed me. I’m revolted that there is even businesses in the area who are out there supporting a place that clearly doesn’t care for its animals.
This is a small aquarium, but a great place to bring the family for a day trip. They are trying to expand. It was fun to feed the different animals here. The shark tank is neat as well.
It’s honestly just so sad in there. There were only two employees I saw there and they were both upfront and no one was there to supervise people touching the animals and it was clear the abuse they have had because of this. Children and adult children mishandling animals that are in enclosures that are too small. Also, there was spiders and spider webs everywhere in the exhibits. All the feed stations were basically empty and there was flies in the shrimp one for the string rays. They really need to do something about this place. It’s heartbreaking.
This is a great place to visit! They are constantly working on improving the aquarium, and it gets better each time we go. The only issue I really have is the price. Its $12 for an adult, and its not a huge aquarium.
Small but is a very nice aquarium the fiance and I went to it and was pleased staff was nice and their was a lot to look at will go back again when we come back
I took my wife and daughter up to Idaho Falls to go to this Aquarium it was a lot better than I was expecting. When you first pull up the place like a man this is the tiny place and we do go in it feels humid but thats to be expected because its aquarium with lots of water however once you get into the exhibits its quite Pleasant and entertaining to be around my daughter had a blast feeding the birds there it was kind of cool because you hold out your hand with bird seed in it and the birth of flight out and land on your hand and start eating the food out of your hand. She also loved the shark room they built a little tunnel that you can go in to the shark exhibit and youre surrounded by glass so you can see sharks from all directions. I didnt have any issues with any staff there I can tell it wasnt as big as you can see like in bigger cities but its still really fun to go to I plan on going back.
It was so cool
Small area, more terrarium/ aquarium. Very kid friendly with plenty of hands on activities.
The aquarium is just getting started and need your support to make it a great place
Amazing how much this place has grown and improved since our first visit last January!! As a homeschool mom, this aquarium is an invaluable asset to our community and I definitely plan on bringing my children back again, and more often than once a year!
We loved it!!! So many hands on experiences. Honestly one of our favorite times at an aquarium. I would recommend to anyone! We got to feed parakeets that sit on your hands, also got to feed big lizards and a porcupine. They also have little fish and shrimp that eat the dead skin of your hands! So fun
Absolutely phenomenal aquarium! Ive been to a couple huge ones in Denver and San Diego and honestly this one is way more interactive, interesting, and remarkable. You get to feed, touch, or interact with almost all of the animals. My kids love it, but might love it even more...
I always have a great time when I go to the aquarium! They are always adding new things and making it better and better. It is great for little kids. There are multiple exhibits where you get to touch or interact with the fish or birds. They also have some things you wouldnt expect to be there! Definitely recommend going and experiencing it for yourself!
The kids loved it. Fun to touch and see and pet the porcupine.Great that Idaho Falls has such a cool place.
Have you seen the Mermaid Show on Saturday’s at 2pm? They are updating it and it is so fun to watch! There are more mermaids with different colors and styles of tails! It is well planned out and is great for kids! They also have a meet and greet around 1:30ish, where you can meet the mermaids! Very fun and entertaining to watch! They had some fun activities as well! Definitely coming back to the show again! Come check it out! See you there. Tell your friends and neighbors!
A very fun and unique place to visit.
Fun to touch the sting rays. Great aquarium with sharks and large river fish.
Michael was an amazing informative guide! Great time.
This was a great place to spend a couple if hours with our two young children, 5 and 7! Very nice variety of birds, exotic fish and lizards. Our children really loved the doctor fish that eat the dead skin off of your hands! The iguanas were really cool too, and very friendly, youre actually able to go into the cage with them and feed the iguanas bites of lettuce. The shark tank was very interesting with a little viewing area below the water that you can go into and see the sharks from their point of view. Extremely friendly see Rays that you can pet as well!! Overall, very friendly staff and nice building.
Not bad. Not sure if it really worth the price. The floor is weird and my son tripped and scraped his knee pretty bad.
Grandkids had a blast and so did I.
Fun little place in Idaho Falls! They have more than aquatic wildlife too!
Had a great time with my grandchildren, 3 years and 16 months old. The exhibits where very interactive and informative. I dont think I have been to an aquarium that has been so hands on before.
This place gets better every time I go! Plan to spend a good hour or two if you enjoy fish and critters ;) Awesome addition to SE Idaho! Very clean water and happy aquatic life. Where else can you pet stingrays on your lunch break? Just remember not to grab the electric eel prongs with wet hands!
My family had a great time. We have visited a couple times now and there always seems to be something new. Great, affordable, family fun.
The personal there was really friendlyAnd I love that place ♡
This is a great aquarium. No leaking tanks like others said. Shark tank was cloudy because they just cleaned it the night before. Small crawl spaces for kids to get up close to see things. For a small aquarium this is really awesome.
Most of the tanks were pretty dirty. I liked the native tank idea with trout and sturgeon. However it was so dirty it was very hard to see anything, especially through the small viewing window. Discus tank was pretty nasty. Stingrays were neat. Such beggars. The big tank was neat. Love the black tips. Wish the tank was clearer. Really cloudy. That was really the story with almost all the tanks. Cloudy.
It was great my kids loved it
So awesome. My eight-year-old son loved it. He got to feed sharks and rays, pet an iguana and do a cool virtual reality undersea tour. Cant wait until the shark tank is open. This is a fun and educational experience for kids.
I feel like this may seem like a biased review since I have personal connection with the Aquarium, but I feel like that is what qualifies me to give this review. I saw the Aquarium transform from a dingy, smelly, moldy, old movie theatre into a creative, fun, hands-on experience for children and their families. I saw all the hard work that went into the transformation. Countless volunteers gave their time in order to be part of something great. Members of this community carved the “rocks” you see. Members of this community painted walls and made decorations. Members of this community helped build filtration. Members of this community helped train the animals. This wasn’t meant to be a “perfect” aquarium, it was meant to be a community project…something someone could visit and say hey I helped with that. It’s an ongoing project. Exhibits are being added and moved all the time. Unfortunately, customers only see the final outcome and that’s what is being judged, not the journey. If you were to talk to the employees or look at the pictures in the entrance you would know just how much heart was put into creating this Aquarium. This is a space where children can come and learn about creatures they may never see in real life. It’s a place of interaction. It’s a place of learning and growing. It’s a place of awe and wonder. Almost every exhibit has a sign with facts about the animals you see. There are a dozen interactive exhibits and stations, where you can touch or feed the animals. Many of the parrots talk and/or do tricks. There are mermaid shows every Saturday. The experience is what you make it. If you look at each exhibit, read the signs, ask questions, and interact with the animals you will have a great experience. The Aquarium provides a unique way of learning and is a great blessing to this community.
This was the best date ever! We both enjoyed it so much! It has a great flow and wasnt crowded. I love how many interactive stations there are and all the info boards and the videos. There are also birds, lizards, tortoises, and a porcupine (all in interactive exhibits). The decorations impressed me too. I didnt expect thered be so much to see and do in such a small building, but I am wowed. I didnt want to leave. Definitely a great place and experience!
Its small but the animals and workers make it a great and memorable experience.
Gosh. This place has so much potential, but its in the wrong building. The ceiling tiles are about to fall down in the entryway because they are soaked and brown with water. Its just damp, musty, and dark in there which detracts from the whole experience. They have some beautiful fish and could have a really fun little Oasis in Idaho if they could find/build a better location.
We especially loved feeding the birds and lizards!
There was some neat exhibits with very nice and knowledgeable staff. It was expensive to get in and to feed the animals.
Had some fun kinda short but sweet
Our family loves to come here! There are so many fun opportunities for animal interaction. We especially love the doctor fish and feeding the birds.
