Beautifully renovated, this small theater is minutes from DC with a plethora of events, concerts and activities from the local community. plenty of free parking in the Cheverly/Hyattsville MD crossroads, at the juncture of 202 & 450, near BW Parkway Bladensburg Road and 201. Check it out!

Moving and creative art exhibit tonight at Public Playhouse: Wayson Jones

Nice older facility that has an excellent sound, video and lighting system.Not a bad seat in the house, I was there for the Black History month Seoul to Soul Classic music event.

The Publick Play House, was great went to see and listen to a Group of Black young men and women from Howard University sing songs from Afro Blue, Black History Music, loved the singers they all had beautiful voices.

Always a lovely experience. Weve only been the the daytime shows for kids and families but they are always well done and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Great venue. Excellent performances and great programs. Hidden gem for sure.

Public Playhouse was a experience for everyone there tonight.

I went to see Memphis Gold. The band was excellent. The jazz carried us all back to yesterday. I loved every second of it.

Victory Boyd is a spiritual awakening. If you have not seen her live performance do not hesitate if the opportunity presents itself. Her opening act, Peter Collins, is sensational!

Went here today to see Dallas Black Dance Theater. Everything about it was amazing from the lighting to the choreography to the compassion the dancers put in each and every step. Definitely a performance I will remember my whole life. ️

Opportunity to see great shows at reasonable prices...have been going for years and now being somewhat retired, like the Senior series with shiws during the day as well.

Alex Bugnon was incredible. As advertised or commented elsewhere the acoustics are excellent. There needs to be a casual dining restaurant nearby.

Great place, to catch some awesome shows. I just saw Philadanco!

I only wish their daytime matinees for longer than 1 hour.

A theatre ran by the PG County MNPPC. They have really interesting features for all ages. The first show I went to here was geared towards kids but nonetheless it was interesting and the person who wanted to see it enjoyed themselves so i was happy to have helpes in increasing their happiness level.

Best kept secret in town. Been there several times and always enjoyed the shows.

Very nice venue to enjoy a show. Stage, lighting and audio is clean sounding and well done. Free parking seconds from front door. Been a few times and will continue to visit.

Free yoga with Theresa at Publick Playhouse! This was a most transformative yoga session! And perfect for yogis who are seasoned or those who havent stretched in 35 years! Wonderful location with plenty of free parking and room on stage for your yoga mat! Call and plan to workout here asap!

Very kid friendly theater

This is a great theater for watching local productions.

It mainly features art deco performances which I find beautiful. It also features music, Dance Theater and other educational programs.The place has good spacing and can accommodate a good number of heads. It also is a very beautiful sight.

Great Location with wonderful old School threate feel

The performance of Dallas Black Dance Theater was great . Only issue is the sudden on and off of house lites instead of gradual lowering and increasing lights

I visited the Publick Playhouse to see the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The venue is very intimate since the theatre is set up black box style. My daughter and I were able to sit in the second row from the front and she enjoyed the show immensely.

This was my first time and I was blessed to see the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The performance was outstanding and the Playhouse was very comfortable. I will go again..... soon!

Ive been to Publick Playhouse at and a nice place to visit it is very small and intimate if you do not mind how small it is then you might have a good time every time I go there for any event I always enjoy myself peace out

A great place for everyone. I have been to hundreds of shows at this theater and I have never been disappointed.

This theater is an avant garde throw back to the 50s. Its intimate and there are no bad seats. The problem is that whenever I have gone there, the seats are woefully empty. The show I attended, a Latin jazz band, was excellent but sadly most of the seats were empty. I felt badly for the group, albeit, not a reflection of their performance. The theater needs to do more in advertising and getting the word out. Of course, attendance could be influenced by the venue. Its a great place to enjoy a show!

Daughter of the Stuggle was an outstanding one woman show. Truly educational with a dash of humor. A must see!

Just experienced the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Fantastic!

The service at Publick Playhouse was completely disorganized and abrupt and frazzled. There were so many theater workers who were not on the same page and just did not know how to coordinate a show properly.For any show where you have dancers for a performance it is haphazard and hectic to have them move a ton of times. Block off a section and have the dancers sit in their assigned sections and don’t have them move. Additionally, for any show with dancers there should be tech times provided. They need to know what it feels like to be on that particular stage. Lastly, please have the staff be mindful of the people that are in attendance. As guests it is imperative to have a positive experience with a staff that at least knows your team’s names...I was not happy with the lack of organization and professionalism at this establishment.

A quaint and intimate theater great for a family outing and reasonably priced.
