This IS the place for the most famous shot of Zion National Parks The Watchman!!!! The parking nearby is very limited, so plan to get here early for a sunrise shot or sunset shot. The sunset shot is BEST because the mountain absorbs the suns rays and gives off a bit of a reddish glow. The place to take the shot is on the bridge, here at Canyon Junction, and can be a bit dangerous. The walkway, where you stand, is very narrow, but It IS all worth it!!!!
As you enter the park from the south through the town of Springdale you can see the Watchman behind the visitor center. One of the two campsites in the park is right next to the trailhead for the Watchmen which is an easy 2 mile hike that takes you closer to the mountain base. We are hoping to be able to stay here next time around to avoid the morning rush coming in. Despite the mountain being outside the main canyon it is still such an iconic part of the park. From the parking lot of the visitor center you can easily photograph it but the most popular shot of the peak is from the canyon junction bridge. This point shows the Virgin River flowing from the canyon with the Watchman off to the side. To get this shot, get off at stop 3 Canyon Junction and walk over to the bridge to photograph it from there. Unfortunately the conditions weren’t ideal when we went so we couldn’t get a good photo from this location but really enjoyed the other ones we did get. This stop is the furthest that you can also get to with your own vehicle. It is the point at which the south and east entrances to the park meet at the intersection where the shuttle continues into the main canyon. There are a few parking spaces near the bridge but by the time we came into the park they were already full. During the busier months I can imagine this location is very popular especially close to sunset. Since this bridge is not meant for pedestrians we suggest getting there early to get a good spot and avoid being crammed in!- @wanderingwithustwo
Walk here or park nearby to get a Beautiful view towards The Watchman with the Virgin River
I love this lower trail is a great secret in Zion, especially when its a 2 hour plus wait on the shuttle. You can follow the Parus trail to the beginning of the road that goes up the canyon and get the shuttle there. ..After Having several adventurous stops by the river which all have seclusion trees wildlife and sandy beaches you can wade into the river from.
I love hiking in Zion, we hiked the narrows so we would be in water and shade while it was hot there. Super fun and easy hike.
This is a classic view in Zion that causes crowds of photographers to gather at sunset. Also a great spot to shoot the Milky Way over The Watchman during the summer. Just be aware that theres no sidewalk so pedestrians have to really watch for cars and the bridge is extremely busy during the summer. The view from the river below the bridge is probably even better than on the bridge in my opinion!
Its a cool place to stop and take the picture
It is the beginning of the Zion scenic drive. You can also ride a shuttle bus to Zion Lodge and the Narrow from this location.
You can drive thru this part of Zion. Zion Mt.Carmel Highway has hikes, overlooks and parking at turnouts. Exit park and go to My. Carmel before turning around. Stop at the German Bakery six miles north.
One of the most iconic photo spots in the park.
Zion National Park needs to be on your bucket list.
What can I say? It’s an iconic spot with a majestic view. The virgin river perfectly leads your eyes up stream and in the distance the sun lights up “the watchman”. Some may say it’s overphotographed viewpoint, but it’s overphotographed for a reason. With all that said be aware of the thru traffic!!! It is a very active bridge. There’s a little ledge you can set up shop on, but it’s not much room. So be respectful to the on coming drivers!
Beautiful views!
This is a great spot to take the icon Zion photo. The key is be there at least an hour before sunset to get a good spot and really take in the beauty. The cars and busses come around the corner really fast so stay next to the bridge. When large vehicles go across the bridge or tends to vibrate so take your time and wait. I tripod is almost a requirement as the sun goes down because you have longer exposure times.
Even more limited parking in this area now.
Best view of watchman mountains in zion national park
One of the iconic Zion National Park picture spots
Extremely serene and beautiful in the early morning.
If you can find parking here, you can take a free shuttle bus at stop 3 to go into the Virgin river canyon. It will save you a little time. Here always provides a great view to both side, some nice trails along the virgin rivers. Don’t really have a chance to stop by here
Fantastic view to seethe Watchman & virgin river
This is the place where you can take the typical postcard photo of Zion. It gets crowded around sunset time so get there early to get a spot and set your tripod. Its work the wait to catch a sunset like the one pictured. An alternative to get here (since parking spots are very limited) is by doing the PaRus Trail, which starts at the Visitors Center. Park your car there and walk to the bridge. Its a nice walk with a nicer reward at the end
Beautiful!
Beautiful place near a wonderful park. Great views of the Watchman. Stopped by there for sunset views and then came back later for the stars.
Really great view for pictures
Great view of the river, but be careful as it is a busy highway. South side of bridge suited for pedestrian traffic, north side to narrow and dangerous.
Very nice place
The perfect place to capture an amazing sunset.
Beautiful spot. I enjoyed walking the Parus trail from the visitpr center to Canyon Junction and taking the bus back from there.
Really nice...
SubhanAllah what a beautiful place to visit! Worth every minute
Always amazing!
Is nice
Fantastic hike.
Well its just a bridge, I didnt fall in the water so I guess its fine
Great spot for taking milky way shots. This is just before the canyon road, so you can drive your vehicle and park in the lot next to the bridge.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE
Absolutely fantastic, gorgeous view, stopping and visiting is a must :)
Great overlook place, especially at sunset.
Beautiful view!
Beautiful
Great place to see sunset but kind of dangerous with traffic
Great place to watch sunset with the watchman as background. Depending on time of the night (and I suppose the month) an excellent place to stargaze too
The perfect spot for an un-original cliche photo of Zion ️
Good view and trail access.

West view of the Virgin River from the bridge is one of the best photo opportunities in the park.
My favorite viewpoint in the park that didnt require a hike. From the bridge looking over the Virgin River at sunset with the light on the watchman is a sight to behold
Great scenery.
Beautiful! Kinda dangerous little area/bridge d/t narrow sidewalk.
Where everyone takes THE picture
Beautiful place!
Spring time in these mountains are Wonderful & Beautiful
Absolutely fantastic view of the Watchman from the Canyon Junction Bridge - best spot to view as the sun sets and hits the Watchman.
Beautiful sunset views!

Stunning
Small hike down to creek. Was cool to see the water frozen. Right across from entrance to Scenic Drive. Definitely a wait when cars are allowed; otherwise recommend using the shuttle when in service.
