So for 2 years straight Ive been able to get into Sammy Ts no problem, but recently in the year 2020 I havent been able to get in. Last time I tried to enter I was declined at the door for wearing baggy pants like I was wearing windbreakers. Before that my cousin was denied for ripped jeans and I tried to be reasonable, but when we came back with a new pair of jeans he was denied again for White shoes. People I live around the area and I know it gets boring, but theres so many other places to get drinks and an establishment thats picky doesnt deserve your time or money. Please take this review into consideration and take care.
Worst place Ive ever been my cousin who is 19 went outside to check on a guy laying on the ground and they wouldnt let her back in I mean clearly you could see her from the door. Absolute worse time I have ever had. I will never be back. Once they get your money to come in its like they cant wait to get you out never again will I come to this filth.
Ive been going to Sammy Ts for a long time. I have never worn anything baggy, athletic, gang-related, remotely unacceptable there but tonight because the owner is supposedly there, I cant get in because my khaki shorts are a little below the knee, which I have worn plenty of nights with no issue, is a problem tonight. I will not stand for it. I have a son and to think about what hes going to go through in years to come with the way this society is, I can not and will not support an establishment like this any more. My wife and I have never started any fights or caused any disruptions because were only about having a good time and dance the night away. They will not get our business anymore. I am sick and tired. #sammysisracist
I wouldnt recommend this bar to anyone. This is the only bar i have ever been to that has charged me for water.1. They didnt let in a wedding party of 25 without paying cover, which is absurd.2. They charged me 2.50 for a bottle of water. The bar tender said she couldnt give me a glass of water. Absolutely ridiculous. Dont support this place, take your money somewhere else. Trashy bar with zero standards. I think it is time to rethink your business model.
Mixed crowdMore of the younger crowdPlays the same musicI prefer club Forty7 . It’s better 100%
BEWARE The security there jumps on anyone they can. Even if you are just standing there. They will hold you down and take turns hitting you. Not professional at all and the place should be investigated.
This place is a literal joke. My boyfriend was denied entry off the fact that his shoes were “too shiny”. What kind of excuse is that? Then they proceed to say to go look at the online rules for entry (which we had done prior to going out) it clearly says no exotic colored shoes. Who knew black was an exotic color. When I said this to the bouncer he just said “well he can’t get in” . I will never go back here again nor suggest it to anyone.
If I could give a no star this would definitely be the place I was told I couldnt ware a cap in the club when I clearly see other people with caps on so I took it to the car and came back the second attempt they said I couldnt wear my jeans in the club so I ask what name brand jeans or color do I need to wear to get into your club he said plain solid color so I went to the car again and change into what he said the third attempt he said I cant keep changing close and coming back once they tell you no you cant come back . they should just simply tell black people that they dont want them in their club its a lot easier.
Drove up there and they wouldnt let my cousins in because he was wearing red shoes. When we asked what was wrong with that we didnt get any explanation and were told he just couldnt go in.
Horrible experience. I went because people told me it was a fun place. Little did I know the owners hide prejudice and racism under the guise of a dress code. I was dismissed for wearing a green polo shirt and slacks. My sister who was already in the club was told the owner does it because it is not a good look to have so many black people on the club. Blatant racism. What is worse is that the city is okay with it because it’s the “dress code”. DO NOT waste your money here! They don’t deserve a dime from anyone.
The bartender was VERY rude. Just becoming leagal I don’t know very much about bars or tabs and he didn’t help me any but yell at me and make me feel like I did something wrong. And the music also sucks. It’s 2018 I don’t want to hear music from the 1960s. I WONT be back.
Good place I guess. Im active duty military and left my ID and had to wait almost a week for them to open again to get my debit card back... even in Maine and las vegas I could call and come after hours and pay an extra fee to come pick my card up. Inconvenient as hell if you leave a tab open....
This may sound very sheltered but for the first time in my life I witnessed racism on a scale I did not realize still existed. I was waiting on a friend to meet us there when we received a text that the OWNER would not let him in because he was wearing baggy pants and his shoes had different colors. I met my friend outside and he was wearing a long sleeve, button down Ralph Lauren polo, Banana Republic blue jeans, and Nike shoes that were blue with a white sole. Honestly he looked very clean cut and well dressed. The only problem was the color of skin and ethnicity. Huntsville, Sammy Ts, and our community should be ashamed of this establishment. The whole thing brought me to tears. When I asked the owner why he was being racist, he said, You go buy a bar then. Its very sad he has a bar where he gets off on practicing prejudice behavior. To each there own. Im just so disappointed...
Great place, great music. Most respected club owners in downtown. Professionally operated and great service. Nothing but a great time.
One of the most racist place to ever go to! Huntsville in general is racist so good luck but this place picks and choose which people they want in their club. And how they want you to dress. Black men especially!!! Its 2017 people when will you stop judging others for their skin?
I walked in and they told me to take off my hat. And Im like oh okay. No hats gotcha. And then I walk in without my hat and I see like ten different guys with baseball caps on. Theyre prejudice against certain types of hats.... How ignorant is that? Like why do they get to wear baseball caps but I cant wear my beanie...?
I like Sammy Ts soo much! A wide variety of drinks, music, and dancing. Its definitely an amazing experience with great DJs, security, and staff! If you want to dance your ass off and have fun Sammy Ts Music Hall is the place! I havent experienced any discrimination at all! I dont understand these other reviews. There are whites, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and many other races there. They do have an understandable dress code. So if you dont dress appropriately then expect not to get into Sammy Ts.All in all 5/5 Sammy Ts Music Hall!
My first time going was last night and I would say its a nice place. I was disappointed because I was told to take my hat off because it was a flat cap mean while my friends and I counted a total of 9 or more people with flat caps just like minds. Bended or flat its a hat so that was stupied especially after I told them it was my first time there. And the music really needs a little more variety.
Security was very rude twice once over my shorts had to go buy a new pair because mine were camo and the one who told me to put my over shirt back on when it got too hot in there was very rude will NOT be going back there.
This place blows. I get up there I cant wear a hat and everyone was wearing a hat inside . then my homie got throwed out like he was just ordering a drink and of course I had too leave too. Its the same way even at the pony. These big bouncers came up one looked like Magic Johnson.
I have only had a couple of good experiences here, but the rest of them were terrible. I walked by last Friday night on Cinco de Mayo around 1030pm and they were dead. Probably will not come back
Girls Night Out with Magic Mike. Awesome!!
I very much enjoyed the concert i went to see! What I did not enjoy the fact the the vip upstairs where ignored by bouncers as thay started fites, poored drinks, thro cigarett butts at others downstairs. bouncers watched with not a care in the world. The Staff where farly rude.
I dont understand how people can say they are racist because I go often and there is lots of black people in there having a good time. No matter what color you are if you come up there acting stupid you going right back out the door.
Very racist place stay away, if you think that all people should be treated equally. Not judged by race, or sexual orientation. Dont waste your time getting all dressed up because you will be denied access if your skin is brown.
I have to say this is by far one of the most unprofessional clubs I have encountered since Ive moved to Alabama, Ive tried twice to get into this club the first time my brother were denied for adjusting his pants and belt as he walked to the door. I must say the guy at the door was rude and couldnt give a legit reason not to let 3 casual dressed black men in except my brother should have adjusted his belt before he walked to the door. I tried once again and were denied myself for having Steve Madden casual boots that go barely past my ankles, the guy at the door said I were not allowed to get in because of combat style boots. I told him the boots were not considered combat style and that what he were doing was bad for business, when I asked about another guy that were inside of the club wearing timberland boots who were Caucasian and why he himself had on boots that were actually considered combat style he shook his head and said he does not make the rules and he just works there. I can honestly say I were discriminated just as many before me trying to get into this club because of the color of my skin, I will never try and give this place business again.
Great place to hang out. Great music, friendly staff.
Sammys is one of the hottest places around. We bought VIP booths for Ted Nugent last year and Bret Michaels just recently. Two awesome concerts. The service was great. The staff was very friendly. Ive seen some negative comments. I guess you cant make everyone happy all of the time.
They were racist to my husband but said I could come in without him. Then after all the issues with not letting my husband in for his shirt because it said American Eagle, they turned around and told him because he had a Michigan license he couldnt get in without a local license. It was the dumbest conversation I had ever had to listen too.
I couldnt enter because my pants were in my boots. He said I could have something tucked in them. Wow. Im not even from huntsville. Im from Dallas. I have no reason to want to do anything to anyone, let alone in a strange city. Stupid ass place.
This club is located in Huntsville, AL. Temper your expectations. However, Ive been to clubs all over the world and $0.01 Beer Thursdays and $3 Fridays must be some of the greatest promotion anywhere.... thus the place can get packed... they have a fairly loose dress code and people just want to have fun.Dont go here expecting to be the belle of the ball... just grab a short mini-skirt, get your drink on, and grind to juvenile and usher...Its Huntsville, AL... no decisions to make on a friday night, just go here... and stop complaining... at least we have a place to go to...
Great business professionals behind this establishment. AWESOME SOUND AND SHOW PRODUCTION VENUE!
Only racist club Ive ever been too. They keep a limit on different races of people. They will find any excuse not to let you in.
Great place to go dancing, if you just like dancing.
Loved it great friendly staff and have vip area for bachlorette parties and things of that sort!!
A hang out for teenagers mostly. Sometimes have good music but not worth dealing with the regulars and terrible service.
I used to take my wife here. I dont anymore though. You know the bar from roadhouse? This place needs Patrick swayze. A guy grabbed my wifes asss in front of security and they laughed it off. Sammy Ts is a good place to get groped. Cuz theres nothing wrong with that. If I put hands on him I get my nose kicked in though. Just laugh it off ladies its no biggie. Rough crowd and desensitized security Imo.
This club is wild..(im black) i had on my white boy shorts *above the knee* and red vans man, RED VANS and these fools said only white black or brown shoes allowed. Oh and i had a flat bill baseball hat so i wasnt gettin in either way lmaooooooo
Good vibes, music is repetitive. They need to switch the nights. Maybe do different music genres, or do different themes. Promote more... street promo and social media promo. Get special guest DJs.
I dont understand everybody claiming racism, I come hear once or twice a week and there packed with whites blacks Hispanics Asians middle eastern you name it there there if you dont adhere to dress code than dont be but hurt when your denied. Now thay thats out the way pros: exelently stocked bar, amazing sound (by club audio standards),atms,3 levels of vip, lights are on point. Cons: plays the same trap remixes of popular songs every night but the house dj is expected to be consistent
I am a young African American male, I was with my friend, and weve got turned down because we was wearing Chuck Taylor sneakers, and we dressed very preppy. The Bouncer outside of the place told my friend he couldnt get in, because, he was wearing red, and Ive looked in and saw a White male wearing a red shirt and Chuck Taylors. Its very racist, we wanted to try something new for once and it didnt seem like that was going to happen. I dont go clubbing but Sammy Ts will not be getting my money, even if I had a million dollars. Will someone please, please, please, get the news involved!!!
Great source of live music. However, their drink prices are on the higher side of the typical bar average...
Its a nice place, but normally attracts a younger crowd thats underage.
Great staff good drinks and alot of fun
Bathrooms in desperate need of repairs. Dress code ludicrous. Horrible set up for live music.
The only thing more trashy than the venue are the people who regularly meet there. Music is pretty bad too.
Mecca of bigotry and discrimination. Huntsville has no diversity, understanding, or acceptance.
Terrible Staff.. Terrible Rules/Dress Code ..
Love this place ! Awesome concert venue.
Racial profiling
Always something happening here for sure!
Terrible
Racist
Great place to let loose
Loved it!!!
Nice place to see music, overpriced drinks.
I have been here before, but I will never spend my money here ever again, the bouncer was rude and very racist towards my husband. They are unprofessional and very rude.
Love this place
A lot of creepy guys hang out here to hit on women, wish they screened patrons a little better.
Fun place to hang out
Great music!
This town would be a little bit more boring without Sammy Ts
Hype place to be
Top shelf all the way.
Most racist place in Huntsville. Im totally ashamed of this place.
Never been unssing
