Our first experience was awesome! The atmosphere is perfect for a great night out. Food and drinks were very good and our server was top notch. The show we saw was so funny, it had my husband and I laughing all night long. I know we will be back and we will certainly recommend this place to others. Highly recommend.
Overall had a great time, the comedian was a radio show host Im not sure which station Ive never listened to it apparently, tickets were $15 to get in for this comedian but they differ each time depending on the comedian and they make you purchase 2 items off the (overpriced) menu.. its required! Which doesnt make since to me but whatever.. so I would recommend not eating beforehand unless youre a drinker and plan on drinking there.. everything on their menu is over priced in my opinion.. I ordered a salad.. I dont like onions or tomatoes in my salad so I told them to leave them off thinking the salad would come with other vegetables.. the waiter asked if I wanted cheese and I said yes.. they bring me my salad and thats literally all it had was dark greeny lettuce and cheese i was so annoyed.. I didnt even eat it i mean that doesnt even sound appetizing let alone look it! Then they bring me my bill and they charged me an extra $2 for cheese! So 8$ for cheese and lettuce! Ridiculous! My sister got the dessert apple crisp thing and it was pretty good so Ill get that next time.. and my brother in law got the nachos... that are HUGE could share with the whole table honestly he said they were good too
Was awesome show tonight with Killer Beaz and the other comedians tonight. Felt good to get out and have a couple of laughs, and the staff did an awesome job with the seatting arrangements to follow the social distancing guidelines. Will definitely be going back.
Geat comedians. Decent food prices. Been here a few times.. Food is good.. There is a 2 item food or drink requirement per person. Ticket prices run from $25 open sitting to $50 VIP. Drinks are medium strong. Good social distancing
Awesome atmosphere and great food. Youre so close to the stage. Great show.
We didnt understand that it was a two item purchase minimum (as in food/beverage) and not meaning you must buying at least two tickets. My bad. Wish I hadnt eaten before our date. Still fun though. Pricey food, of course.
The comedian, John Crist, was definitely 5 stars but I would definitely not go here unless the comedian was someone big you wanted to see. Bc you have to buy two items EACH once seated. I’m not sure what they would do if you refuse. It was our first time here so I had no idea. The cheapest item on the menu is a drink for $4. My husband and I got two beers and asked for two water bottles bc that’s what the waitress suggested since we didn’t want anything else. We ended up paying $28 bc of the alcohol tax and included gratuity. That’s as much as I paid for my ticket! Some people are struggling during these times so I don’t think I’d make this a requirement! It was bothering me the whole time and I won’t be returning while that’s a requirement.
Very nice place to see comedians however be ready for highly priced food. The food despite the price is very good though. Nothing amazing or anything but you do at least get a good portion and it tastes fine. The two shows I went two had a 2 item order minimum per person. First show I got wings and a beer and my girlfriend got wings and a pina colada. Our ticket was about $55 - so be ready for those prices. Food and drinks were good at least though. You can easily order just fries and a soft drink for about $15 (which I think is the cheapest thing you can get) so if youre on a budget but really wanna see your favorite comedian thatll be your best bet. The fries are very good though.Overall would recommend for a funny night out. Nice building and venue! Itll just cost a bit so be ready for that.
The lady that processed my refund in the box office is an absolute angel. I was given two complimentary tickets to the Absolut Night of Comedy just because my show had been cancelled! I had a blast and will continue to come here for the outstanding service from the office manager AND the wonderful servers and delicious food!!!
Qe saw Trey Kennedy tonight and it was amazing. The place was well staffed and the drinks and food were phenomenal
I’ve been calling for months to get a refund because the show I was going to was cancelled. They rescheduled twice but then the podcasters decided they would just put it off until next year. They haven’t returned my calls or refunded me so they basically just robbed me for $80.00. Thanks guys awesome customer service skills.
Went on a Sunday night, so no headliner. There were a half dozen local comedians. The host was great as were most of the comedians. But there was one, a guy in a skirt that was really putting our military down. That was disappointing especially since the host had thanked all the veterans and soldiers that were present for their service. My husband served for 36 years and to have someone stand on stage and say the things he did was very disappointing. We would have left had we not been there with another couple. I dont know the comedians name but they should not bring him back.We did enjoy the others but one bad apple spoils the whole mood.
Good food, good service and every seat in the house is a good seat. I will definitely be back.
Love this place! So much fun! 2 item minimum per person. Plan on spending about $30/person. Typically at least 2 comedians and parking is limited! ENTER FROM THE SIDE DOOR!!
Rob Schneider was AMAZING! It took us at least 20 minutes probably more to get our first round of drinks. But, we still had an amazing time. Met some great new people while waiting in line, and ended up sharing a table with them.
Great show. Food, drinks and service was an added bonus!
Tom Segura was hilarious, his opening act was great. Food was good. Only complaint was my first drink was small, not the best and took over 30 minutes to get.
Amazing food and even better show! Clean environment, comfortable, and lots of laughs! Cant wait to go back!
1st time being there. Nice clean place, a little pricey but it was worth every penny! Id recommend this place to anyone and my wife and I will be back.
I really enjoyed my first experience at Stand Up Live. The venue and the food and drinks all made for a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back after the fun date night we had seeing John Crist there.
This place is great. The drinks are a little overpriced, but its a great time. Rob Schneider was great!
Most of the show sounded muffled. I blame the sound system or operator. I was very disappointed. Nick DiPaolo is one of my favorite comics and had been looking forward to his show for months.
We went to see Eddie Griffin and the whole experience was terrible. They sat us the farthest back corner where the servers had to go in front of our table to get to the kitchen. We couldn’t see or even hear the show. It was too muffled from where our table was. It took them over 40 minutes to wait on us after being seated, and even then we had to stop someone to get their attention to place an order. There is also a 2 order minimum per person which is ridiculous with their overpriced menu items. It was $5 for my bottle of water. Once we got our bill at the end of the night they had added an 18% gratuity charge which our server clearly didn’t deserve. I would not recommend this venue whatsoever!
I had a blast!!! Just needed to get out the house and really enjoyed myself.
Purchased tickets to a show back in January. Of course with COVID going on the show was originally scheduled for May timeframe it was rescheduled a couple times before it was completely cancelled a month or so ago. I received an email that the show was canceled but if I had purchased my tickets more than 120 days ago I would have to call them to get my refund. I am now on my 5th attempt to get my refund and still no luck. I am told only the manager can initiate the refund and she will have to call me because every time I call the manager is not there. I have not once heard back from the manager at all! I have even gone down in person.
Good food and a nice atmosphere. Weve been twice and have had a great experience each time.
Good time with friends during covid a lil pricey but funny
Had a good time, the comedian wasnt my favorite, the food wasnt good imo.. but the atmosphere and the people were great!
As always the service was great. They are putting in the effort to reduce the chances for corona to spread, and great comedians.
So much fun. Great service great food.
Great place. Super clean. Great food. Very pricey though. Watered down drinks.
A place that is more fun than a barrel of monkeys on meth.
It is a great place to laugh. Employees are wearing masks to help stop the spread of Covid 19.
Great show tonight, cold drinks, reasonable prices.
Was an amazing night with such awesome talent Chris Porter
First time to an actual comedy club. Was very impressed. Food was excellent. I loved the seating arrangement next to the stage. Atmosphere was very relaxed. The comedian was good; however, a lot of his material went further into the gutter than I was anticipating. I dont blame Stand Up Live for this. We made a list minute decision to check him out. Over all, awesome experience.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! And I know what Im talking about, comedy clubs are my jam. First off, go hungry. The food is amazing, none of this frozen bag fryer bar only nonsense. They have real food, and its real good. The shows are amazing, these guys have the best of the best, even on weeknights. The staff is top notch, I want to get married just so I can invite them all to my wedding. Huntsville, you scored big time here.
Had a really good time comedians were great service great food sucks but still had a great time
Very good atmosphere clean friendly staff the restrooms are clean the shows are well worth the money my favorite hangout in Huntsville.the new menue has many good upgraded items which are a little pricey but who cares when the tickets are 40 to 50 bucks and every seat in the house feels like a front row seat.love this place.THANKS STAND UP LIVE FOR BRINGING COMEDY SHOWS TO NORTH ALABAMA
Safely spread out and sanitized! Lots of laughs!
Great comedy club - food is in large portions and fits the elevated prices. Service could be a bit better but it was sufficient.
Awesome drag show.. Loved it.. Food was ok..
Very good show and good talent that is brought in. Food is also good
I have been to several comedy clubs and this was my first and last visit to this establishment. Ive never seen so much unorganized mess in my life. There needs top be someone guiding the line to keep rude people from jumping line. If you stand in line just like everyone else no one should be able to jump line, thats an easy way to cause an argument. There needs to be another way to have the line formed. The waiter Josh, stayed on one end of the table the entire night. The food service was horrible. I received my drink and my friend received her food and it took another 15 minutes or so to get my drink and my food instead of bringing her stuff out together. One thing that you should reconsider especially if there is another show, is to cash out the customers as they are done instead of waiting until the end to do everyone at the same time. I believe thats what caused the first show to exit late and our 2045 show didnt start until way late. The show was good but this establishment needs more work. Ill continue to travel outside of the area to enjoy my comedy shows where the lines are much more organized and the service is better.
You gotta keep em high and tight when you come try it out, but please make sure your queens are over 19, and please no chomos.
Great venue. Great food! And not a bad seat in the house.
We have been here a few times. The comedy is always good, Great atmosphere and pleasant staff. However, every time we have been here the food has been poor. Cold street tacos, dry chicken Alfredo, etc. The menu is to small for this. With this few items on the menu (a good thing) every thing should come out perfect. With a two item minimum the food really should be better and things one would enjoy eating. We continue to come here, but will no longer getting food. We will eat before and get two drinks or desert.
Amazing service and hilarious acts!
I have been to stand up live several times and it’s normally a very enjoyable experience. Laughter is truly good for the soul. I always enjoy a night of laughter and socializing with good friends over good food & drinks. However, last night was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had here. It was extremely cold out last night but once we were in the building after waiting in line for a while it was smoking hot. Several people including myself had to pull out something to fan with just to get some relief. The restrooms had run out of toilet paper and paper towels. I typically expect the second show to start late because of the people leaving from the first show that’s not that big of a deal. The show was an hour late. Service was horrible last night! It took 40 minutes to get a cup of water with its “2 ice cubes.” Food arrives 5 minutes or so before the comedian. The wings were DRIED out and didn’t have the chili sauce in them that I requested. I will say the fries were hot. We were out celebrating my friends birthday and I hope she had a good time but I was truly disappointed last night!! I noticed several people leaving before Tommy finished. Not sure what caused all of these issues but last night was a flop!!!
Went to see Jamie Kennedy. Was my first time visiting Stand Up Live. Parking leaves a lot to be desired. The lot in front is tiny so most people will be forced to park in a gravel lot next to the building. There is no good lighting there so not the most secure place. I was impressed with the interior...a lot bigger inside than expected and the finishings in the bathroom and theatre area were nice. You do not get to pick where you sit.. instead you are lead to seats by a host. If you want the best seatd pay extra or get there super early. They fill in seats starting at the stage and working back from there. You are also forced to buy two items from their menu...could be anything from a bottled water or beer to hot wings or cheesecake. This is where my lower rating comes in. I originally ordered a soda and BBQ wings. However, my soda came out in a dirty glass with black specks floating in it. Didnt drink it and ordered a bottled water since I figured it would be clean. The bottled water was your standard Nestle brand and cost me $5...more expensive than the overpriced soda. When my food came out, I could not eat it. It was barely lukewarm and the sauce they used had a sickening smell. The texture of the chicken was cold and rubbery. The texture combined with the smell mixed to make it so I couldnt eat it. It looked okay but didnt smell or taste good. I dont know if they pre-cooked everything and then just warmed it to order but something was not right about the meal at all. Across the table my sister had ordered nachos...it came with a long stringy hair in it. Not good since my stomach was already queasy. My opinion is if they are going to REQUIRE people to purchase food after they have already paid for tickets, the food should be stellar. Instead, they seem to be playing fast and loose in thier kitchen. However, the best thing this place has going for it is the comedic talent. That is why you pay and go. I had a good many laughs and was able to forget about the poor tableside service and food. I would go again any day of the week...however, I reccommend just buying two bottles waters.
Cool experience and great customer service.
Staff is friendly. Cool atmosphere.
The food is great! I always have a good time!
Comedian Dan McMillan was awesome. Enjoyed it, but the only thing was it was a short experience. Wish I could have spent more than 2 hours listening to comedy.
Food was ok, comedy was ok
Very clean and the staff is very friendly and nice. Everyone is smiling even when they arent helping someone. The seating is a little awkward, but theres still a good view point of the stage. The parking lot is a little tight, so park in the business beside to get in and out quickly. Also, a line forms rather quickly so be sure to get there 1hr before show time to ensure the best seats as its first come first served.Be patient with the staff as they have soo many people to help.
Im giving 5 stars even though I wasnt thrilled with some of the aspects. The food was pretty good. We split the chicken nachos and wings. Between my fiancee and myself, we probably only ate a third of the order, there was that much that came with it. You only get 8 wings, but they are pretty good size. We saw Ginger Billy and Catfish Cooley. It was a rescheduled show, but that was no big deal; we just had to wait a little longer to see them. They were hilarious. I wasnt really anticipating to see Catfish (I just dont find his videos too funny, but he shocked me.) We left out of there in tears. He was so terrific! The waitress was nice and attentive. She wouldve ended up with more than an 18% tip, if they didnt automatically add the gratuity to the check, so we left it at 18%. I dont know if that tip is for every patron or not, but there was only another couple that joined us at the table later, so I didnt really consider that a group. Still not sure why they automatically added a tip. Would absolutely recommend to someone for a good night out.
It was our first time here and it was a great experience. Make sure you get there a little early so you can get a good table since its first coke first serve. The food and service was outstanding and I was surprised to find out there was more than just the featured comedian. The only down side is how close all the tables are, youre very on top of each other and it makes getting up for any reason a pain.
What a fun place! Food was good.
Was coming to see Darren Knight a couple months ago, but didnt know he changed the date. We got in free, so we decided to stay. I havent laughed so hard in years. I wish I could remember who we seen.
Great staff and great venue
Comedy was great! Very much enjoyed the show. Service was fantastic! Server was very attentive and helpful. Very happy with service. Burger was large but ok. Liked the french fries and they came out hot. Definitely a nice night out.
Good comedy and the food is actually pretty good. Its kinda pricey bc it usually costs a $25 cover and you are required to buy a two food/drink items... but most comedy places in bigger cities require the same thing too. The greater Huntsville area need to support this, or it wont be able to sustain itself, nor will it be able to book good comedians.
Nice quaint place fair pricing
Love that Huntsville has a comedy club bringing in touring comics, including many big names. Have been 4 times and enjoyed it each time. Their emai and text list will give you good notice and shows and great discounts and many free ticket opportunities. Prices arent really too bad. a tad high $10 drinks and 6 and 7 $ beers and food is good. Had the wings and were tasty.
This club is super fun. From small local shows to touring comedy dignitaries, they get it all. The food is delicious. I recommend one of the pizzas.
Great entertainment and food. The inside of the club is recently redone and looks great. It provides a fun atmosphere to watch the excellent talent they bring in. The food is a bit on the pricier side, but worth it. Everything we had was delicious and it was fun to have our meal while being entertained:
Stand up live does a nice job providing a venue for comedy in Huntsville. Parking isnt the best situation but there is paid parking ($5 at time of writing) adjacent that helps. This is a non smoking facility with good views of the stage and friendly staff. Most events have a 2 item minimum which can be food or beverages.
Friendly staff great food
The venue is spacious you dont feel like you are in a hole in the wall. The food service was fairly quick considering the large crowd. The show with Deon Cole was great!!
My date and I sat through 2 acts b4 I had to get up and ask the host for a server. Thanks for ruining my 1st date with her. Food was sub par drink selection was miniscule. I spent 88.00 on tickets 46.00 on food tipped 14.00 (because Ive served b4) Ill never be back.
Great comedy. The food and alcoholic drinks werent the best and can be vastly improved. It was an overall decent experience. There will be trouble if competition moved in with decent food and less skimpy drinks.
Great food and good service.
Morgan was a great server. Food was decent. Chairs were very uncomfortable. I love the early shows because you dont have to wait in line as long.
The food and drinks are great. The servers are the best! Thanks Josh The Emcee Chance should do his own 1 1/2 routine, he was great. The comedians we saw tonight were FANTASTIC!! I had a wonderful time!
The two comedians that came first were great. They were funny and clean. The main guy (Killer Beaze) was horrible. He had a foul mouth and nothing he said was funny. We left because of being bombarded by his language. Wish wed had a rating on his style of comedy. I gave 4 stars because the food was good and our waitress was very efficient.
The staff very friendly and polite. The food and cocktail was so delish. The talent was amazing! So funny. If I could recommend anything be better it would be their promotions directive. That place is great but the place should have been packed out. I blame the promotions because everything else was awesome!!!
What a terrible experience. It didnt take long after walking in to realize that this wasnt going to be fun. Me, my wife and two other couples went to celebrate our anniversary. I am not kidding when I say that the crowd looked like they were there for a convention against their will. We were literally the only people that looked like we were having a good time. The warm up comics were great and then Killer Beaz came out...he is hilarious. About 15 minutes into his act the waitress came over and told my friend that he was laughing too loud and he needs to shut up because they are filming his act. At that point we went on ahead and left. On our way out we spoke to the owner who genuinely seemed upset that this waitress said the things that she said. We went to Carsons Grill and finished the night at Ponybama. The night was salvaged.
James Gregory is HYSTERICAL!!! LAUGHED MYSELF INTO A MAJOR HEADACHE!!!
The seating can be very cramped. Ive enjoyed all shows Ive been to. I usually enjoy the food but on my last visit, they royally messed up my burger. First, undercooked. Second time, extra charred and still undercooked. Third time burger was completely burnt. Ill never order another burger from there again.
Absolutely a fabulous time. Great wait staff. Clean restrooms. It was worth the trip.
Three stars because Ive had some seriously good laughs here. Theyve brought in a number of great comedians that Ive been happy with. Unfortunately, the food and service has really been sliding downhill the last few times we went. Our most recent visit we ordered right away after sitting down but people who were seated way after us were getting some of our exact orders before we were and when we finally got our food it was cold. I wouldnt recommend eating. Just eat beforehand and then order 2 drinks to cover your minimum.
Great food. James Gregory was AMAZING!!!! Great place to ENJOY THE EVENING!!
Had one of the best nights at a comedy club and the wait staff was amazing. the food is absolutely great and they are very attentive to your needs.
Great times and great staff!
Service was excellent and food was good.
Wonderful experience if youve never been
Love it! The wide variety of comedians are great. Food is meh. We usually go once a month. Would go more often if the food wasnt so expensive with the mandatory 2 item minimum and added 18% tip into the meal.
Our first time there, we enjoyed it very much!
I went for the 1st time and had a GREAT TIME! I was sort of concerned about the 2 item minimum, but the drinks were reasonable and the food, believe it or not, was really very, very good! We had a nacho appetizer - which was huge. My wife had a Hamburger and I did the shrimp and grits. It was all very good and the prices were reasonable. The Comedy Show was hilarious! We will definitely go back............. in the near future!
