If youve been itching to buy a sword or mourning star, your black Friday has arrived. If you like dressing up in a costume and speaking in an old English accent, your Halloween is here. This place is an entertaining spot for kids. There are a few activities that my kids liked. Shooting a stick-bow, throwing knives. You can pet animals or ride a camel. All of those activities cost a few bucks extra. Highlights include the jousting show and the fire show. Those were free, but crowded. Take note that parking is free, but its on undeveloped farm land and you may need to walk a quarter mile just to get to the gate. Not a big deal. Its organized.

It was absolutely amazing. I went as a crusader and my dad followed me with coconuts. (A reference to Monty Python). It was super fun. As always, the Vegetable Justice was hilarious and we watched for a solid hour. The businesses are amazing, and the staff are super friendly. I love coming here, and I would recommend it to everyone. One note though, it’s probably a good idea to head here a few minutes before ten, otherwise the traffic has a little wait. It was definitely worth it though.

A very fun and exciting place. Went as part of a History Club field trip and had a very wonderful time. Me and my class had a very fun time and I will be definitely sure to take my family. It has many shops, taverns, and a jousting tournament. Also great for cosplay surprisingly not just middle ages but video games and sci fi. Ran into the Dragonborn from Skyrim and Darth Vader from Star Wars. Overall a fun trip.

I love the experience of going to the Renaissance Festival. Its very family friendly and there are so many different shows for everyone. I highly recommend Don Juan and Miguel, The Tortuga Twins, and the Falconry show. Its a place like no other and I always have a great time. If youve never been, I suggest you experience it. You wont regret it. If you have kids, this is one of the coolest places you could ever take them. All of the fantasy they could imagine at a fraction of the price of an amusement park. I cant wait for next year!

I absolutely love going to the Renaissance Faire. Its such a wonderful and magical place. The vendors and actors are super nice, if you have questions or need help they will do everything possible. The only thing they ask in return is that you the patron be nice and respectful to them. Use common sense and treat them how you would want to be treated. But if you love magic and fantasy this is definitely the place for you. And dont be afraid to dress up as well!

The Carolina Renaissance festival situated in Huntersville, NC has two vehicle entrances leading into the fairgrounds. Parking is free. But get there as early as you can so you get a decent parking space. 2019 - $26 for adult entrance fee. The fair is situated in a horseshoe shape. There are plenty of clothing, leather, rock, and accessory shops. They also have food and drink vendors. Various beers, wines, margaritas and Mead are available for purchase to 21+. Plenty of free entertainment from kid shows, to falconry, to circus acts to loose cannon shows meant for adults. Everything is laid out very well and this was in our opinion one of the top Renaissance festivals we have been to.

It’s always a great time coming here! The acts are amazing and the falconry show is super educational, and helps as a non profit to benefit wildlife. The beer, wine and other drink selections are great too. Definitely take time to look at the shops because hidden gems are everywhere. The joust is a must! The only downside is getting in and out of parking, but other than that it’s a great place for family, and if you’re down for it, some not so child friendly fun.

Came here on a Sunday right when they opened and it was worth every bit! Loved checking out all the vendors and interacting with the folks. We gabbed some delicious food before the crowds poured in and made our way around the village. The acts were great, but the best has to be the petting zoo. Goats, alpacas, cows, ducks and chickens! I have been going to the Carolina Renaissance Festival every year for the last 10 years. You can not be the hand-crafted wares. They are gorgeous and the potters try to mix things up and not offer the same things year after year, although when its hand made, no two items are ever the same. When we started going the acts were new and family friendly. The joust is still as good as ever and well worth watching. Over the years many of the acts started going down hill. They became more and more lewd and raunchy. I could not even sit through a show with my kids because of the bad language and disgusting humor. HOWEVER, I have found a few new acts that are still family friendly and they seem to have cleaned up some of the acts this year (2019).Just be careful what shows you take your kids to. Otherwise, the costumes and main actors are still amazing. I still look forward to going every year and playing dress up!

Really a great experience! Theres a lot to see and do. We didnt wear costumes...but we kinda wished we had! Youll definitely want to have cash on hand for food (the variety is pleasantly surprising), drinks, and medieval style games. The vendors are really interesting and friendly. Theyre each peddling cool handmade items, from acorn jewelry to mini catapults. Last but not least the actors were enthusiastic and funny A lot of fun for kids and adults alike.

While I recommend the experience of a Renaissance festival, this one was far too expensive for it too be worth it. The whole park was a mess to get through; from their dirt road parking lot that was at least a 1/4 mile from the entrance to the park. The parking lot is at the back of the festival and though it makes it easier to get to your car, there arent clear signs to reach the entrance. The $52 dollar fee for 2 adult tickets, on top of the cost of every ride or carnival style game they offered; you end up paying a fortune here if you arent careful. Due to at least half the shops in here charging $50+ for costumes/accessories.

Fun family outing for the weekend. Not exactly “Renaissance”, but more old stuff, foreign stuff, and fantasy stuff. The jousting was the most exciting thing in my opinion. Also, lots of pirates. Lots of cool shops for souvenirs. Bring cash.

Lots of fun, food was good and people were friendly! Only real issue was the parking (it was insane) took forever to get in but at least the line was moving. Getting out was much worse though, people were cutting in line, the traffic directors were all standing there just waving NOT directing traffic. Some cones, signs or flags would have been a great aid in forming lines. There was very little direction. Took 40 minutes to get into the place, and we got there early. When we were leaving, we sat in the car for almost 2 hours without moving an inch—and that’s not an exaggeration. Finally, we had to be Those People and cut across the entire parking lot to get to the exit; turns out, that’s what everyone had been doing the entire time, and the staff just allowed it. There were 5 people directing thousands of cars, letting the front parking lots out before anyone else got to even move. I had to pee in the woods with complete strangers. My friend was dehydrated and had a terrible headache. We called their help center and they did nothing. This was terribly staffed, horribly planned, and absolutely dreadfully executed. The director should be fired—this should never have happened. I really can’t put into words how outrageous this was. The coordinators should be ashamed.

Fantastic experience, with one major drawback: They only accept cash for most things inside the festival. This may have been acceptable 5 years ago, but in 2019 this is an inconvenience that has the potential to ruin the experience. Truly a great time for your entire family! Always best to get in early to get your best parking spot as it is a large outdoor event and can fill up very quickly with what must be at least 10,000 + people. The parking staff try their best to wrangle in drivers (myself included) into a huge field with no markings that I can tell and they do a great job. Getting out can be a little frustrating because theres 10,000+ people trying to drive out around the same time but that does not take away from the experience. Would definitely go again recommended for all ages always tempering my expectations with the idea that there could be over 10,000 people deciding to do the same thing I have chosen to do that day. The kids enjoy the costumed entertainers and jugglers, and especially the joust, while our toddler can’t get enough of the fairies and animal rides.
