We had the best experience on our wedding at the Walden lake country club! The team group is amazing, Cathy and her team make your dreams come true and the best of everything the price which is excellent! Thank you guys for helping us so much on our day! If you have an event, this is the place you want it at. We were there to celebrate the life of a family member taken to soon. And the staff made sure everything rolled so smooth. The food was amazing and the staff was so great. Amazing job guys.

Course is in good shape, greens are fast in one direction not so much the other way. Nice to play it. Plenty of water on this course. Play it safe and hit them straight

I have been helping with hosting formals and banquet dinners for almost 10 years and this venue was BY FAR the best experience I have had. Excellent and helpful staff, delicious food, beautiful view. I would highly recommend.

I highly recommend this place for your elegant events because there is a natural backdrop for your photos, the staff shows concern for your event as if it was their own! And the food Wow! My group was amazed of the decor as they entered the room! 5 stars are not enough for WLHG! Thank you WLHG for making our event memorable!

I went here for the tennis part cause i was with my cousin for her lesson very nice but not very much shade but a nice playground and free ice water

Most of the golfers that golf here suck so if you have good aim income play golf well play here cuz youll be better than everybody

This is our club and I really love it. It is beautiful and well staffed. The food is wonderful and very well priced. I do wish basic repairs were kept up with. It is an old beautiful building and deserves to be in perfect condition. Case in point, cabinet handles in the bar should be fixed.

Im not sure what happened to this place but the food was sub par for the prices and the bathrooms need improvement for last 2 years.

Im a resident of the community and a member of the club. Food is excellent. Chef Kinsey and his team are great and come up with some great off the menu fare during special events.Im not the best golfer but the course is nice. Very challenging. Greens have some interesting breaks that delight and anger you all at the same time if you know what I mean...No sidewalks in the neighborhood. I guess this is a negative for some but appealed to us. Were not retirement age but dont have any kids so sought out this neighborhood because it felt geared more toward adults.Club Manager Mark Mattox, and his team are great. Perhaps the thing that stands out the most is how unpretentious and down to earth the staff and most of the members seem at this country club.Facility is in need of an overhaul but it is maintained and they have been spending money on renovations over the last year. Has a very threes company Magnum PI feel which is not necessarily a bad thing if it were in better shape. I give five stars anyway. You dont have to pay a six figure initiation fee to join... And for what you pay it is very very nice

This community is awesome. Unfortunately, some people have nothing better to do with their time other than complain. The only 2 downsides to the subdivision is that there are no sidewalks and the traffic from time to time. Other than that, the location is great and its a pretty nice place to live.

Well for $30.00 ( kinda expensive for two burgers, fries and tea ) I had the San Antonio burger (S.A.T.X.Burger) and it was delicious! My wife had the All American Burger and said only I could cook a better burger. The wait time was minimal as there were only a couple folks in there, kinda typical for this place. The tea was fresh for us and the beer and wine seemed to be flowing for the few golf patrons occupying the room at the time. The staff was very polite and attentive, even to the intoxicated individuals.It would have been nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the view, but, it was inhabited by smoke ingesting individuals (Im an ex-smoker). There needs to be a separate area for these aficionados to congregate and enjoy each others enthusiasm for health.

Marys Wedding...Beautiful Place.

Just yesterday celebrated my Mothers 80th birthday celebration at Walden on Lake Houston with 81 friends and family members. The hot appetizers were offered to guests by one server carrying a small plate around. Over one-third of the guests didnt even know that there were hot appetizers.The garden salad had no romaine lettuce, it was skimpy and it was limp. The main course was barely mediocre. It arrived piled in the center of the plate. Visually unappealing. The meat was piled on top of the potatoes and somewhere hiding underneath it all was what was supposed to be the fresh grilled vegetables/squash. The vegetables had no flavor. There was to have been a cream sauce on the meat and it was barely visible and had no flavor. The rolls and butter should have been brought out with the salads, we had to ask for them and most tables received the bread when guests were nearly finished eating. The staff served some at the table and not others. Those of us that waited for all to be served had cold food. My daughter in law received her entree 20 minutes before my son received his. The staff did not ask what guests preferred to drink and so most guests only had the tea or water on the sidebar. (since the coffee ran out) They should have been asked what they preferred to drink and given the options. We were told that they ran out of coffee!!! There was only decaf if you wanted any coffee after the first few minutes of the party. In addition, the cake was served without forks. When I asked servers to bring forks and they finally brought them it was with a sour attitude. The waitress actually threw the forks down so forcefully that one bounced and hit my Aunts plate. The servers were not attentive, they were rude. There was no value in the money spent here. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. It is worn, the carpet and many of the chairs are frayed. The piano was so dirty that you could write your name in the dust. We had to dust it ourselves before guests arrived. In general it was quite a disappointment.

There’s so much lost potential here. It looks like the money is being siphoned off instead of being used for simple maintenance.
