This park rocks! Great trails that are well marked. Beautiful falls that you could jump around in if it was warm weather. Lake, river, falls and dam. Although we didn’t use it on our trip this time we were stoked to see a big dog friendly picnic area. Lots of sites, I would suggest and outer loop site if you camp in the 300s as they are very close to one another over all.

This place is absolutely stunning.A waterfall lovers dream! Beautiful anytime of the year but I think its best during the summer because you can enjoy the water, water shoes come in handy! I also think its important to warn you the path down to the falls from the parking lot is kinda long and rather steep! $20 for a Wisconsin state park sticker to get in. Also usually crowded for obvious reasons!

A beautiful park that I have been visiting for over 20 years. There is a wonderful paved wheelchair accessible trail behind the nature center, just make sure to bring lots of bug spray. I particularly enjoy this park as there are several paved paths that make for easy accessible outings. I have not tried their restrooms recently as the park has been particularly crowded the summer of 2020, during the pandemic. Other years the park has been a quiet deserted oasis however as of August 2020 expect the parking lots to be near full and there to be many families filling up nearly all the picnic tables and the swim area as well as hiking on the trails.

This state park had so much to offer, I wish I had time to see it all. There are multiple waterfall areas, a river to kayak, campsites, and even a beach area! The trail we walked down to see this waterfall was lovely, all shaded and plenty of walking space. Walking back up was somewhat challenging though.

First time at Willow Creek State Park in Hudson. We will be going back. We are modern convenient campers and use electricity. The modern loop was great. Private grassy sites with electricity, quiet, super clean amenities and friendly rangers. Many brand new buildings. Nice beach and picnic area. My daughters and I visited Willow River State Park during the summer and hiked down to the waterfall. What a beautiful walk! There were no bugs which was a pleasant surprise, and as we got closer to the waterfall we could hear the water in the distance. There is a bridge that provides a beautiful view of the multi-level waterfall. People were enjoying swimming, sitting, relaxing, and exploring the waterfall. We wished we had more time to more fully explore the waterfall and the trails around it.The hike back up the hill is challenging and invigorating. Thankfully, there are well-placed benches along the way to stop and enjoy the scenery (and catch your breath, if needed). We look forward to our next visit!

This is a wonderful place for photography. The falls thou beautiful require a lot of decline or incline walking to reach. Expect to stop multiple times to catch your breath on the way back. The blacktopped trail/ road ( You can not drive down.) is very steep and will take your breath away. Not in a scenic way.If you have breathing problems, this may not be the place to visit. In the wintertime, you can reach the bottom in 20 seconds due to ice, be prepared for slick conditions.Overall, the waterfalls are worth the trek and the rest of the park is accessible by virtually anyone.Enjoy the day.

Love this park. Probably my favorite state park so far. The falls is beautiful. If you plan to go on a weekend, get there super early because it gets very busy. Beautiful waterfall. Went on a Saturday in August and the trail was packed and there were a lot of people swimming, so it was hard to get close and explore. I would still recommend, and will definitely be back. Be warned that while the trail is paved, it is a long, steep walk back up to the parking lot!

The nature here is absolutely stunning. However the park itself is lacking. Due to its beauty, the park is very crowded, and therefore was also filthy with litter everywhere. I saw zero garbage cans in the park, so that is a major problem. More maps along the way would be nice too. Small improvements could make a huge difference here. Still would recommend a visit.

Been to many countries throughout the world, and these falls were on par with any of our other favorites! Great spot for a sunny after noon outdoors.Hiking, swimming, falls, open grassy areas for throwing the ball or disc, public restrooms that are well tended, plenty of parking, public style grated grills for charcoal grilling and playground areas for children!Something for everyone. $13 for single entry, $38 for a state-park annual pass.

What a gem! Right across the border from the twin cities all but hidden sits this beautiful park. My wife and I along with our two dogs made the trip from west central Minnesota to this great park. We parked where the new dam is being built and hiked back to the falls from there. It is quite amazing that there was once a lake here but is now just a prairie of grasses with odd piles of old timbers scattered throughout, apparently parts of a very old dam system. The hike to the falls was along the lake for some ways then through the woods on a large and well traveled trail. All the trails were very well marked and easy to navigate. We could hear the roar of the falls from a good distance away and when we arrived at the base of the falls we were stricken with awe at the sight of this amazing cascade cutting through the rock walls surrounding us. We sat at the base and took it all in for a bit until we got the energy to start up the large set of stairs to get to the top of the rock cliffs. The stairs are many and seem to take forever to climb but when the summit arrives we were blessed with a view that met the horizon in a kaleidoscope of beauty, spirit and nature laid out in front of us. This place is well worth the visit. Now for the critiques, we came during the shoulder season in hopes it would not be to busy and although there was not lines to get good pictures (like gooseberry falls mn) it was still pretty busy. I feel that if it would have been a nice summer day it would be a bit over crowded. I was also a little disappointed that there was no ranger station or visitor center or even a little gift shop. All in all it was a great trip and would recommend to everyone.

The Falls are spectacular. Beautiful and well kept. The path to and from the Falls is wide and look paved. It is important to know that the grade is very steep and would be extremely difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. Parents with children in strollers will be very tired. There is 1 bench along the way to rest. Most seniors or less fit people need to take standing and or seated rests to complete the walk back up.

It is absolutely beautiful! However, it is NOT for people who have troubles walking long distance and hills. The path to get down to the falls is nearly straight up and down, so coming back up is beyond a workout. We had to stop and take a break halfway up and we are in decent shape! Even though one had to park at the farthest lot it is still only a couple mile hike to the scenic falls from the swim beach. We picked the busiest day (Sunday) and noticed social distancing was not being followed. This was a little concerning to our family during our first ever visit. Masks are not being used, so prepare for the long looks if you wear one. Beautiful place to camp and hike while staying socially distanced. It’s a nice waterfall, much larger than you would expect. It does get quite busy, however, so I would recommend going early. The walk down to the waterfall is a very steep downhill path, so that means it’s uphill all of the way back. The bathrooms are alright, not the cleanest but they’re there. Also there’s a $13 fee to get in. There are also quite a few benches around the falls and path.

Waterfall was really cool. A bit of a hike but I didnt mind walking about a 1.5 miles. Maybe next time Ill reserve a little campsite since they are only like 20 to $35 for a lot. Not much to look at along the way. The actual Beach part is pretty small and the water is dirty. You also have to purchase an annual parking pass which is around $30 unless you have Wisconsin plates then its like $10 cheaper. If you have little ones best to put them in a stroller the ground is pretty flat so its pretty easy to push them.
