Our family loves Pengu. All the instructors weve had seem to do a great job, my kids actually ask me to do more swim classes. Theyre responsive and always courteous. If you and your kids live within the greater Heights/Oak Forest area, I cant think of a better choice for swim school.

We have been bringing our daughter here over the last year. She has learned a lot over the time. Teachers are friendly. Facility is nice and clean. My only complaint is the class is only 30 mins, and, at times, there are 4 students per instructor. This then leads to each of the students not having too much time to practice their technique.

Weve been going to Pengu for 7 years (3 kids) and transitions are hard for any kid but especially for my eldest. Im so annoyed at the school for continuously not letting me know when an instructor change is going to happen. They are also pretty bad about keeping us updated on their skills.

My son went there for a long time. He never learnt to swim I don’t think they push kids enough to move forward. Also, if you miss a class it will be very hard to get a make up and they don’t work with you to help with that. The place is nice and clean. Very hard to find parking. If you unenroll they still will charge you for the next month because of a 30 day policy even after the coronavirus.Consider this place as your last option!

PENGU taught our grandchildren to be safe and swim very well. All I can say as more sites may be needed. Our 3 year old grandchild is able to swim across a large pool without assistance. Thanks so very much Pengu. People are obviously well trained and taught to keep children safe. I could not say anything positive enough. I am very thankful. Obviously Pengu is in high demand. There is a reason. I dont know if its possible to add locations but its wonderful.

Brought my 5 month old here for her first swim lesson and absolutely loved it. Clean, beautiful facility. Staff was beyond welcoming and courteous from the moment I walked in the door and Coach Anthony made the lesson so fun with how engaged he was. I can’t remember his name, but another staff member was so sweet to take some photos and videos of my daughter and me so I could show family how her first time in a pool went!

Terrible wait list system. My daughter has been on a wait list for her next class since October. I finally received a phone call informing me that there was space in the class. When we arrived for lessons, it turns out the person that called me never changed her class in the computer system and the slot in the class went to someone else. When I talked to the front desk I was informed that their wait list system was seriously flawed. It has been a very frustrating experience.

I dont have a lot of experience with swim schools, but Id recommend this place to take your kid to learn to swim if youre looking for a neighborhood place. The school seems to have plenty of changing rooms and showers, and Richard is a great instructor. The place is mostly run by teenagers, so the instruction is a bit inconsistent, but everyone knows what theyre doing and theyll keep your kids safe. The class sizes are good and there are plenty of life guards around. The only minor issues weve had here is that scheduling can seem a little complicated.

They put my daughter in a lane that was shared with babies so she had about 20 feet to practice her technique, owever they still charged me full price. That was fine because the instructors are good but the shower situation leaves a lot to be desired. Also they cancelled classes 3 times due to having to sanitize the pool and they offer no refunds for those lost classes. And they will nickel and dime you any opportunity they can. For a few bucks more, they sealed the deal to ensure I will not utilize their services again. Hope it was worth it.It definitely was not the dollar amount, just the principle alone. It’s always nice to be treated as a person and not always as a policy.

I liked the place till I called to make up the last lesson for my son, I was told since my membership ends today and makeup lesson must be afterwards, so there won’t be a makeup. I asked what others do if the lesson fails on last day, she went to ask her manager. Manager came to the phone and said I did too many makeups and their policy is in the contract that I need to read it. I only remember when I signed up the staff told me so nicely that if I can’t make it just call ahead. Nobody mentioned about too many makeups... and I wonder any mom has time to sit down and read the pages of small lettered contract from a swim school. Their policy is, if you don’t attend your last lesson, no makeup even if your child isn’t well.

I am a nanny and have been bringing my charge here since she was a baby and now she just turned three. Even though there have been mix ups here and there people have been nothing but kind. I love the instructors and staff and always treated with kindness. I was really moved today after getting back up for miles in traffic with a traffic light out and a sweet kind lady who I forgot to get the name of got us into the next class so my baby girl could have class. I was worried that Id get into trouble with the parents with me being the nanny but I was so greatful the woman in the blue polo made my job a lot less stressful for that moment especially since its been my birthday and had to work a very long stressful day. Thanks Pengu!

I have loved the swim classes for my toddler. The facility is great with good instructors, many changing rooms, and a great viewing space for parents. My complaints are around their scheduling policies. You have to do lessons weekly. Youre allowed makeups but you have to call to say youll miss the class and then schedule a makeup after youve actually missed the class. You also have to give them 30 days notice if you want to cancel to take a few months off. Too many rules and I wish it was simpler.

Im surprised to see so many good reviews on here! I feel the program is a scam to get my money and keep it coming. They tell you when you sign up you have thirty days to cancel. Then when you are. It able to make a class they make it. Wet difficult to reschedule and are rude to you when you need to do so. I dont feel that my son really learned skills in the program, just glorified play time.

My husband and I just recently started taking our daughter here for swim lessons for the first time (shes 3). We are very pleased with the lessons she is receiving, the instructors are so sweet to her and teach her so much. Everyone that works there that I have come in contact with has been nothing but friendly and helpful. Also, I cant say enough nice things about Jackie. She helped my husband and I get into a class when we first tried to sign up and all classes were full. She has gone above and beyond for us and our little girl from greeting us when she sees us and always making my little girl feel like a princess. I would definitely recommend this place!

The school is great! Lots of lifeguards and lots of rules to maintain safety! They have been very flexible with our schedule, my son has learned. I was skeptical at first. I was thinking of teaching him the way I learned ... Jump in first and ask questions later. I thought to myself, Like you need a school to teach you how to doggy paddle?! But this is soo much more then that. I am very pleased with this school! They also provide updates and my son totally levels up! Not as much as I hope he would be he still has a good time.
