Fantastic. I am Old School Air Force. (NO STRESS CARD MENTALITY!!!!) Traveled to well over 9 - 10 Countries and Partied OM TOP OF THE BAR, Im 6ft 4 in tall over 200lbs. I know a GREAT Atmosphere and a terrible one. Though I arrived WAY TOO LATE, to give a proper assessment and my visit here was brief. It appeared that the majority of the folks here were cordial toward each other. Therefore, I/we will be back. (Lol).

Had a great time, but thats mainly because it was semi empty due to world events.

I loved it here! Who knew there was a tribe of people like me out there who cannot sing but do not let that stop them from doing it!!!! I will definitely return here... and next time I am grabbing the microphone!!!

A huge group of us showed up last night after attending an annual business meeting. We had not made reservations so they had no clue that such a large group would be in on a typically slow Thursday night. Katelyn was behind the bar flying solo and did a killer job on keeping up with us! She and the DJ last night were always present even though I know they had to be overwhelmed with the sheer size of out party! We had a blast, and I very enthusiastically give this place 5 stars!

My husband and I went for a work party. It was ok. Lots of music to choose from. Co worker paid $350 deposit for the room and there was a server specifically for our room. If you went to the bar to order drinks the $350 deposit wasn’t given back. The server was so slow. And at the end of the night we had a $250 alcohol bill. There is no way the two of us racked up a $250 bill like that. But I couldn’t get a detailed receipt so who knows what she charged us for. The room we had there were burnt out lights and one of the microphones didn’t work.

I always have a great time here. No drama. Just fun with a few drinks for courage.

Very fun! I loved the wide selection of song they have available and the stage. The room was nice as well and so was the waitress.

I gave it 1 star cuz I can’t give it 0.They charged me and my husband the entrance but nobody else that were there with us.When I didn’t agree with the check, that was clearly not right, they asked the security to kick me outDON’T GO THERE!

Fun time celebrating a birthday with friends and family, plenty of space we got a private lounge room, and catered food. Only drawbacks were the floor was pretty dirty (from spilled drinks) but still a nuisance, and there wasnt much instruction on using the playlist machine so we kinda drunkenly figured it out as we went....

Fun place to visit if you like karaoke. This was my first time visiting, but I would return.

The karaoke was fun but my bartender was incredibly rude. I am a fellow bartender as well and you can not talk back and call customers names. Not appreciated.

Great staff, great equipment, great song choices. Ive sung here many times and greatly enjoy the atmosphere. The party rooms are the right size for a group of friends. Always a blast, even when I cant quite hit the right notes.

Spotlight karaoke is a fun place, great bartenders, and a decent sound and karaoke system. The song catalog is kind of limited and antiquated but they have a decent selection.

I always love spot light for its large selection of karaoke songs. This one is just the same. We had Spanish speaking and English speaking performers. Everyone walked out happy end of the party.This location is a bit tight if you are staying in the main room but private rooms are large and nice with stages.Love this place

There is a great atmosphere and there is plenty of songs to choose from. The only thing is that it can get a bit crowded. Also there were only bar height tables but that is just a personal thing.

Pretty good music choice, i could use a lil more rap but overall really enjoyed myself.

This place was so fun!! When you come here with a group, its best to just get a private room!! I think its a little costly, but definitely worth it!! You and your friends get to sing any and all songs you want and act crazy in the privacy of your own room. The room also has great lighting and fun colors! You can also decorate it for bdays and other events!!

Spotlight is a good Karaoke place but if you want great service, ASK FOR NANCY AS YOUR SERVER!!!She will go above and beyond to take care of YOU!!! My wife and I had a great time when we visited last night!

My boyfriend got me a private room for my 34th birthday. I had a blast. Atmosphere was great, service was great, waitress was attentive and personable. Drinks were great too! Christina (I hope that’s how you spell your name) thank you for making my birthday a blast. This was my first time to this establishment and it won’t be the last!

Waiters and bartenders are attentive and polite. The karaoke jockeys keep the party going. Usually a great crowd the likes to sing and have fun.

Wouldn’t not serve water unless we paid $3. Last time I checked it was illegal for a bar to do that.

This place was fun and so welcoming. The karaoke catalog was pretty extensive, and the staff (including the dj) made the experience a lot of fun. The drinks were really good, too. The bar itself doesnt have much room in it, but that really only added to the environment, as it became pretty familiar and supportive for karaoke performers. Theres also an aquarium here, which is a plus. Go check it out!Note: Theres no food here, but some pretty great places nearby if thats something you want.

If you like karaoke then this is the place for you. Parking is tough, but its midtown so you probably already know that.The establishment is cozy but it works. That means the way they set it up allows for comfort & mobility in such a small area. This is in reference to the main/common area.The backrooms are freezing, which isnt a bad thing. I believe its done to accommodate large parties. With all the drinking, singing, and dancing youll want the cold air to continue flowing.Each room comes with its own waitress. Our waitress was attentive, quick, helpful, and friendly.The system they use allows you to play either their catalog or your own. The use an (aux)iliary cable so be mindful to those who dont have audio ports on their devices.I went on a Friday and the crowd there wasnt overwhelming. It was more intimate then anything.I can write all this but you probably should experience it yourself. I would recommend this for a date or an event such a birthday party.

We went here a couple months ago for a birthday party. I believe they reserved one of the big party rooms. I had a great time at that location. Our room waitress was very nice and she was on it when it came to taking peoples orders and bringing them out in a timely manner.Outside the room is a different atmosphere. Lets just say that I am glad that we had a room on reserve. It looked pretty blah with the energy out there in the main room.

Fun spot, servers will not leave you waiting. Very good service. Some of the regulars are pretty talented with the Karaoke.

There was a cover charge, and some weird private party rooms. I dont care to elaborate. Its a nasty little place.

Always have a lot of fun at this place just make sure you have enough people if you decide to book a private room I think it’s a minimum of $350 worth of drinks + 20% gratuity for the smallest room. If you have around 10 people who drink it’ll be great.

I just want to say Thank you to Spotlight Karaoke on Milam St in Houston, TX for the last minute accommodating for a Birthday Party! We all had a blast!!!!! Every single employee provided a wonderful and excellent service from the bouncer, waitresses, bartender, to the DJ they were all great! Thank you All!!!! I cant wait to host my next party at Spotlight!

Really nice place to bring a big group. Came here with a group of about 40 and we made the reservation requirement for drinks pretty easily. The service was good, the drink prices were reasonable, and the beer buckets were the best value. Going with a big group is a ton of fun.

It gets packed as the night goes by so Id suggest you pregame a bit and get there around 830. Bartenders are great but have no sense of humor or dont understand so dont joke with them or theyll consider you drunk and cut you off. Atmosphere gets kickin when people submit their songs early so get to it before you forget what you want to sing. DJ here is also pretty fun. He will do backup vocals and get the crowd into it. You have to visit this place.

The music is great, the DJ goes out of order. The drinks are expensive and the bartender inflates the tab at the end of the night, will alsos cuss you out for questioning the tab. Keep your own tab on what you drink and how much the drinks are.

I went to Spotlight Karaoke for the first time Friday night and.... loved it! Everybody was laughing and just having a good time. The DJ was super cool and personable, which immedietly gave the place a chill vibe. Ill be back on Friday Nights from now on for sure!

This place is pretty great. I was hesitant to go because off the reviews but Im glad I decided otherwise. Drinks are reasonable. Everyone is so friendly. I get that there is a drink minimum (2) and they only have bottle water, but it makes sense for a karaoke place. Over all love it.

They have 3 computers which will support you in finding the right song. You must buy 2 DRINKS in order to sing- my basic drink was 10 dollars. So in essence, you must pay 20 dollars to sing. The wait is usually long to actually sing. The place does have some nice booths to sit in.

Rented a room and family killing the stage. Selection wasn’t the best but you can hookup your phone to the system. Drinks were I poured and weak and no Japanese or Korean beer or Soki selection.

Their customer service is beyond deplorable. This place is alive because of the fun customers and because they have no real competition in the area (unless you count Glitter). We were there this past weekend and we noticed some questionable business practices like a bartender copying a customers credit card number. Ive unfortunately never had a completely satisfying experience here, but I love karaoke so I keep coming back.

What a fun time! I went with a friend to a private party room! I thought my experience was going to be only applicable to that! I was mistaken. When I stepped out of the room, I noticed that the maine bar was having just as much fun!

They kicked us out because we had a small bottle. I saw other people bring it bottles but i honestly think it was a race issue. I will never go here again . Westheimer location was better. Forcing customers to drink is not ok! I’ve visited spotlight multiple times and I actually order something to drink all the time. But today my friend and I went already to eat and already had enough to drink. We wanted to sing and relax the first hour. But this Dj kept on telling the crowd that he will not play our first song to sing unless we buy a drink, and if we want to sing one more song we have to order two drinks! I don’t think that’s ok. I came here so many times and was never pressured by a club to drink! I think this is unacceptable and they should seriously reconsider this idea because I will not visit a bar when being forced to buy a drink!

About Thursday parking: to prevent the lot from filling up due to Proofs events, there is a parking attendant. Parking is still free for spotlight customers, sort of. Parking cost is $10, but you will get a drink ticket good for $10 off your drink order.Regular hours are 8pm-2am Wed. 6pm- 2am on Thursday and Friday and 8pm-2am on Saturday.

Meh. It is too loud and crowded to hear any of the singers in the main area. My friend tried to book a private room and they messed up the reservations and ended up overbooking the room and we ended up in the main area.

One of the most chill places to drink and hang out on the weekend without getting gouged by those other guys in the area. They have pretty much any song you want to rock out to and also the drinks are great.

The drinks werent cheap. And the dj skips the order of requests. Other than that its enjoyable.

Had a horrible experience with my sister here. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to find a great spot. This had some ok reviews so we tried it. First the bartender didnt take our order or welcome us. Come to think of it she did not speak to us at all. After what seemed like 10 minutes of no services I proceeded to get the bartenders attention. She walked right pass me and took the order of a couple that had just sat down. I know that it can get busy in bars and sometimes bartenders miss people but this was not the case. My sister and I were seated in the middle of the bar with one other couple all the way at the far end. Thats it, no one else. At one point she took the order of the other couple got their drinks. And then stood there as if we didnt exist. I decided not to spend my money at an establishment that would treat their customers this way. After of an hour of being ignored we left and went somewhere else.
