Been there ton of times always an enjoyment to go there. Will say a bit expensive on the drinks but seeing the Rugirls there makes up for it all

MUST BE 21 OR OVERWell me and my friends didnt get to go in because they told us at the door that we had to be 21 or over. It would’ve been nice to know before hand because we planned our Houston weekend trip around going to this club.I couldn’t find in any of the reviews or on their page/Facebook page how old we had to be to get in.

Club is shut down again for the second time. This club used to be known as club Heaven and after a fire there they closed down, remodeled and reopened under a new name as South Beach in the early 2000s. This club was the best dance high energy club ever. Then years after being so popular, the music died. Literally. The music started to sour. They started to allow 18 year old(kids) in the club which was clearly a mistake. It should have been left as a 21 and up club only. These youngsters are immature and irresponsible and drove us older dedicated fans away. Their staff was phenomenal but they hired some uncaring and undeniably rude bar tenders. As of a result even on Saturday nights the club was empty. People started going elsewhere. No more long lines wrapped around this building. Sometimes no lines at all you know that there was no point in going in even if it was free. South Beach then quickly became primarily a club for drag queen shows then over time the club was just a drag. The music died, the excitement died. The fans went elsewhere or simply stopped going to South Beach. The building itself is an inviting and magnificent structure. It just needs to go back to days of old when the DJs there were like Gods while angels and demons had many nights of dance and decadence together on the dance floor!

This is definitely my spot! There are drag shows every night and the male strippers are A plus! There is a house/techno feel to the club if you just like to fist pump and flail around. There are always great bar tenders and the bouncer is always super nice.

Its okay I guess. Drinks are over priced (as usual) and the atmosphere feels kinda fake when sober. The models dancing are all straight and are just there for money, not very fun to interact with. With a nice buzz and good company, you can have fun and dance to good music. Most weekends at least, there are some off nights with low turn out or blah music. All in all, its okay and probably among the best Houston has to offer in its category.

This place is amazing. The drinks are really good and the bartenders are so nice. I have only had one bad experience with a rude bartender but have not dealt with him since. They have amazing performances and cute dancers. Management is awesome here. Also the restrooms have always been clean when I used them. Which surprises me.

Stromg drinks and great prices. They play great music. If you want to have a great time this is the place. You can dance or just hang out in the outdoor patio.

Me and my best friend go all the time, never had a bad experience here. The employees are great and the activities like foam parties or Halloween they had a super great costume contest with a cash prize. Holidays here are absolutely amazing!

All was on the high level. The atmosphere was very festive. I had a lot of fan here! My guests also were satisfied! 5 stars go to it!

Ive been coming here since I was 18 and never have had a problem, I honestly loved coming here for their events on the weekend. But last weekend I went to go try see one of my favorite drag queens perform and this is what happened...Me and my friend got there around 945 because its free before 10. Well my friend brought her expired card by accident and the one that wasnt expired was in the car so we had to go back and get it because they couldnt accept it... Which honestly shouldnt be a big deal since most places only check the DOB... Anyways it quite a walk from the club, back to the car, and the club again. By the time we got back it was after 10 and they wanted us to pay $20 even though they saw we were there before 10. Ill keep this message PG by saying getting attitude from the rude cashier lady and management didnt help me not want to go back again.Like I said its fun to go to their events on the weekend but they need better customer service up front... Once you get inside its ok. We ended up not even going cause we didnt have $40 just to get in... Which is ridiculous... But Ill give this place another chance though, only because Ive been going for years.

I love South Beach because of the great dance floor, DJ, and the manager. I only wish that the floor staff and some of the bar tenders were a little more friendly and nice. I know...its work . I do miss DJ Ross.

The bar is very large. Beautifully decorated. Great sound system lights and dance floor. Friday stripper circus is always fun.

My friends and I went for the new years eve party everything was great until the girls realised, they had their things (wallet, phones, cash) stolen from their bags. What a great way to start the year thanks south beach.

Great place if youre underage lgbt. If you dont like young crowds this is not the place for you. I avoid it for that reason.

So I went to South Beach for the first time last weekend to see Raja and Raven. I had heard good things from a lot of friends and had pretty high expectations. Unfortunately I didnt sign up for the text passes sooner so I tried to get away with a screenshot (which I admit was a stupid idea to do.) So I couldnt get in for free and had to pay $20 to get in which was fine despite the cashier ladys ugly attitude and lack of care for even being there. The experience was fine after that. Overall Raja and Raven were great but the whole interaction to get in bummed my mood out for the rest of the night.

It was nice... good size club... the air was blowing... so I never got hot... which is great!!! it wasn’t a packed night when I went... but a good crowd... drag show was good... but lasted a lil long for me... lasted til 2... I left at 2... and got no dancing time... they are open til 4... vallet parking is a must... cause that is a busy area for clubs... so parking is limited... but I enjoyed myself... only complaint was I didn’t get to dance... but it may have been the night I went and the time I left...

Website said $20 cover, raised it to $25/cash only at the door. There was no crowd and bad music. This place isnt what it used to be. In major need of an upgrade. We went to F bar instead....no cover there and much better drinks, and music.

Fantastic drag shows and the best DJs! Its a little loud for my old musicians ears, so if youre like me, take ear plugs with no guilt! Thursday night amateur night, Friday night Stripper Circus with games and a new drag show, and most Saturdays, special guests including various RuPaul girls!

Fun dance club.. Million Dollar lights and sounds... Mixed alternative crowd

We thought we were coming to see a drag show that was advertised on their website. The website says so you think you can drag every Friday. Even when you enter the club and go in the bathroom on the wall there are posters that say the drag show is on Friday at 10:30pm. We go in and its completely dead. On top of that we ask the bar tender and she says the drag show is every Thursday and Saturday. I understand advertising mistakes but all the information and advertisement was consistently wrong, and hard to forgive. On top of being a waste of time, there is a lady at the front desk right when you walk in, shes about a hundred, who is extremely rude and unfriendly. She almost ruined my night before it even started. Also, not great music.

Its a cool little place, but if you like to get up and dance to hip hop then its not the place for you, the music is kinda like rave music. But other then that its cool.

A great place to go out with friends and have fun. One of my favorite clubs to go out in Houston, love the music the friendly bartenders and of course the people around that make the place fun.

I gave 3 stars because I only come here for drag shows. The drinks are expensive and the music is stuck in the early 2000s.

18+ club, youll see a lot of young folks here (Xs on the hands). I generally avoid this place (very loud and club-like) unless there is a drag show.Its usually the only place in Houston to catch touring Drag Queens. Great place to go to if your new to clubs; especially LGBT. Loud dance music with different age groups (majority younger 18+).If youre recently out LGBT, this is a great introduction to LGBT Houston and Montrose.

It is a LGBT-friendly dance club at a convenient location. Straight people are also welcomed and treated with respect!

The music is always good. Friday its usually more packed than saturday. Its a big dancing area and music is awesomely loud.

Used to be nice, now it just SUCKS. The music is beyond horrible. Takes you forever to get a drink. They also have not changed in years despite losing a ton of customers. Drinks are a little overpriced and they want 3 bucks for a bottle of water. Really?

Great music and fun vibe. The only thing I didnt care for was the bar area smelled gross, and the drinks are a little watered down.

Its starts at 12am, so dont come early unless you want free cover.at 10:30pm.The drinks are really Expensive $$$$$ and shots are not prepared correctly. I had 5 shots and barely felt drunk and I spent like $50

I used 2 go here years ago & it was always a blast! W icy fog blasting out of the dance floor every once in a while so thick u cud hardly see, great music amazing light shows, go-go dancers, I went back recently & it was NOT the South beach I remember... Blur next door was closer to Wut I was craving... Kinda sad this used 2 b my fave hangout :(

Because Louis said this place is not popping $ the entrance smells like vomit, but the bartenders are awesome and on point. The community really likes it too.

Atmosphere is great when it comes to the people, otherwise music is extremely repetitive and its all remixed to the same drum and bass, and drinks are crazy overpriced. Only come here for events or if you like crowds and rave lights.

The great disco lives on as the business reaches out to support the LGBTQ community of Houston. Its loud, but thats why you go.

Always a great night out. Very popular with the younger crowd, and always a nice blend of people from all walks of life. The GM, Jon Tice, is always walking about with a smile and a genuine greeting. Visit Leo at the front bar... hes been my go to bartender at SoBe for 10 years. This is a Charles Armstrong bar, which is synonymous with outstanding quality, up to date interior and exterior spaces, top notch bartenders and barbacks, friendly staff, etc. Its a great place to dance, watch a drag show, or just lounge outside in the cabana-esque smoking patio.
