This place is consistently HORRIBLE! I thought that I would give Jet Lounge another chance because of the new rebuild and change in management and to support some local DJs who chose to have a night there. The new look and vibe of Jet Lounge reminds me of the walk-in cooler at a supermarket. Very sterile and cold. I go to the bar to order a standard Jack and Coke and a red wine(any kind wouldve done) and they dont have either, which is strange but ok so I order two tall cranberry and vodkas and proceed to be charged $56 for what should of been an at most $30 charge. When I question the price to the bartender (tall man with a baseball cap) he non chalantly says I dont make the prices which is true but what he does have control over is which liquor he pours in there and its obvious he went straight to topself vodka without asking. As a former bartender and server I know that that is a Nono. I was deeply offended by the scheming and scamming of the bartender. Thats not how you treat patrons especially a week after the largest Flood in US history. I wasnt expecting my first drink after the trauma of Hurricane Harvey to be like this. I was so offended at the lack of care I paid for my drinks and left without drinking them. It looks like Jet Lounge is up to their same old tricks. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning. Youve burnt me for the last time Jet Lounge.
A nice long bar runs adjacent to the dj/dance area, and behind the bar is a semi-private area with tables and couches. I liked the layout -- theres was a little something for every occasion: music, bar lurking, or socializing. The music was good, with a steady flow that easily fades into the background as you move away from the main area. The crowd was mixed, with all types, if a little rough around the edges -- you gotta use them elbows sometimes.Overall, it was decent. It wasnt omg cant wait to go back, but if someone suggested heading over there again, I wouldnt object.
Loved TKOH!. Nice little hole in the wall
Good:---------Interesting dive barchill atmosphereExcellent music (will vary by the night, we saw Camea - deep/tech house)Nice (but busy) bartendersNice staff, no jerk bouncers or anything. Not that this place needs one as the crowd it attracts on electronica nights are pretty tame. In fact, we didnt notice the entrance at first because of how low-key it is.bad:----------Parking was kind of annoying to find, but Floyd Mayweather was at the club next door, so that probably had something to do with it20 dollar cover, what?! (free before 11 if you RSVP, but it was pretty slow going @ 11:30 when we got there, eventually got more crowded and hoppingDancefloor could be bigger, or something. Most of the place is just that a wrap around barPitifully small patio, but I guess you work with what youve got
Best place for real house and techno music in town
