The food is a soul food buffet style brunch. The food was very well seasoned, couldve been a bit warmer on some dishes. The spot was hosted a reunion gathering, so the people that were not there for the gathering we assembled in a corner, and sort of lacked attention. On a regular Sunday, it probably wouldve been a better rating.
A small place with a cool, laid back, and old fashioned appeal to it. We had arrived some time after 10 pm on Saturday night, and the band was still playing. Service was good also. Only reason we left earlier than planned was because the kitchen was closed and we had to get some food. Definitely worth another visit.
My first time was watching a friend, Michael Reeves, perform on R&B Thursdays at the Cafe Lounge. They have an R&B/Poetry lineup which consists of great local artists. More so, drink specials ($5 Well before 8 p.m.), food, hookah & more. So far I like this place. I believe it will be booking this fall (2019).
Me and husband attended 4212 on my birthday on March 7th.We had an amazing time great music, great vibes, and great food. We definitely recommend this spot to everyone. Thanks for a great time 4212.
This place was absolutely amazing! If you need a spot to hang out on a weekend and like cafe type music, this is the place to go. We’ll be back.
I had such a good time at Cafe 4212. The food was good, the atmosphere was wonderful. It had a good vibe and great music! I would highly recommend coming out.
Best jazz club in town!!! (Monday nights). Food and service was great with a great atmosphere.
The owner is rude. Nothing positive came from this man. The outside wooden area is dry rotten and the coverage has holes throughout the screens . And getting accurate billing is impossible Quote well work it out. Not worth patronizing.
Live band was great. Food was good. I will visit again.
This was a very nice club. There was live jazz for a few hours. It was really nice. Ater there was a dj playing all of the 90s hits. Every song he played made you run to the dance floor even though your legs were numb. The food looked great, but I did not eat. Everyone said the drinks were nice and they did not hold back on the alcohol. This is a nice spot for the 35 and up crowd.
Very nice place to get out in the evening. The bartenders are super friendly.
Atmosphere was nice. Live band did songs from multiple decades and genres. I would fefinitely go again.
The food, service and music is great!! My husband and I were looking for jazz lounge to celebrate our anniversary!! We loved every minute of it!
4212 is not really my 1st Choice to Hangout at.. its like a hit-or-miss miss here. The men there are very into themselves they talk to each other they dont socialize with the ladies unless they know them,If you just want to hang with your friends or have a party good place..the atmosphere is very nice but its not be a place for a single woman to go into hoping to meet a single man.
Really enjoyed myself. Nice music and drinks. Bathroom was very clean. I spent the entire time on the patio so I’m not sure how the inside was. Will be back
Food was very good...love the history associated with this place...kick back chill and enjoy.
Live Band Is BOMB!!! Loved it but the hookah sucked and they left early withoutservicingthe customers. My drinks were horrible but by the third try, they finally got it right. This place is iffy.
I went for an event a few years back and it was so crowded that I just kind of stood where I could. This time, I went for another event and found the place to be refreshing. Of course you have the inside area with loungers and a bar, but there is a patio out back that is really nice. The food they had for the event was tasty and served at the correct temperature. The staff was really nice and accommodating, especially the guy with the locs and finger rings.
This was my 1st time goin there and it was nice.
Cool spot, laid back, lots of cool people. A bit small due to the typical real estate of the area but overall a good experience. I definitely enjoy contributing to small businesses that serve the diverse community of our beautiful city.
Great place for live music. nice backyard bar. good drinks!
Awesome on Monday Night Jazz nights.Great for date nights.Great food & atmosphere!
The DJ was the best thing going on a Friday night. The place has tons of potential but happened to be a sausage factory that night. The service was fine but staff was not easy on the eyes. (Im just being honest)
I attended a friends birthday celebration. The bar staff was friendly and nice, shout out to Chade (sorry if I spelled it wrong), but the table service EXTREMELY slow and disappointing. We received a drink nearly 2 hrs late, and then was still charged for it, even though the person barely drank it because it was too strong. Suggestion on the lemon drop martini, be mindful and consider your recipe, the alcohol used was very strong (not enjoyable by multiple people at our table) and had a rubbing alcohol scent (not pleasant, and I personally enjoy martinis often). Also, the live music was very enjoyable, however, the vocalist was having to scream over the music at times which was not enjoyable and concerning for her. Overall, we had an enjoyable time, however, the things mentioned in my review would definitely cause me to reconsider this as a location for my own event.
If youre looking for a good time, this is a place to visit. In from Phoenix, good music, drinks and food!
Really nice place to come and relax and listen to music.
Great obiance, good food, very friendly, our waitress was ok other staff helped get her attention when needed but she was very nice and helpful. OMG! the music was fantastic!BEST KEPT SECRET!Fish was huge! Didnt get pic of sampler plate was also a great plate. I seen others plates loaded. So great portions for prices.
The jazz jam on Monday night is the bomb! Talented musicians doing it for the music made me think I was in a jazz club in New York or Paris. Details are on the attached notice. Full bar, cold beer, wine, food, and an international crowd make this a great way to turn around a Monday and make it great.
Very nice location for live music, the atmosphere is for the grown and sexy! Friendly staff also
Celebrated New Years Eve party here. Club makes strong drinks. Staff and crowd super friendly. Loved the band playing. Great place.
Great jazz and staff. Didnt eat there but the food looked very good
Awesome environment to hang out. Lovely patio Good Dj. Mr Palmer is very rude
The live band was great and drink prices were reasonable. Didnt taste the food. However, we had a great time !
Its cool lounge for the grown and sexy 35+ up
Amazing place ran by amazing people, if course with amazing food as well
Comfortable PLACE TO LISTEN TO LIVE MUSIC
Please be aware that if you buy tickets on line you are not making a seat reservation, only paying upfront. We got there at our scheduled time and they made this clear to our party of 3. We were instead required to sit in the sun outside by ourselves as there was no room for us. Little service outside since we were the only people who were required to sit out there. Oddly the party of three that walked in behind us, without reservations, was sat inside. Food variety limited and not good quality. Also, this was sold as brunch, but we were told they had no coffee- very strange. We felt unwelcome so we cannot recommend this establishment.
Loved the outdoor patio & bar. Inside was dark, but spacious. Ideal for seeing live music, but I was there during the day.
My husband and I went Aug 11 for my birthday because I wanted to try a “different “ brunch. Well we got exactly just that. This is a bar that is turned into a cafe during regular business hours. We were sat immediately but the tables was so close together that my 5’11 husband could not pull the chair out to the table and I had to squeeze in to the sitting myself. Eventually greeted by our waitress which never gave a menu or informed us of prices which is ok because I knew the price for buffet prior. On the buffet for brunch is very disorganized and disappointing. Silverware was were anyone could touch the eating portion of the utensils . Vegetables was the first thing you was offered followed by meats, breads, and lastly breakfast items. All it’s are serve out of crock pots. Back to the table we go to ask for salt, pepper, and hot sauce. To our surprise we had to share with the previous table and any other table that ask for these items. The food was really bland. What was suppose to jerk chicken was baked chicken. Cabbage, sweet potatoes, and macaroni and cheese was bland no seasoning. Husband stated gumbo was disgusting. We love patronizing hidden gems but this place should not serve food until the invest in a great cook. I could go on but truly believe the negative reviews of this place. They are not wrong.
Small and cute but reminds me of a cave. They could use a nice renovation for sure. The back patio area was great too. I enjoyed myself because the music was amazing. The drinks were okay, took a while to get served.
Went to a friends black and white party there. First they charge you ten dollars to get in.Second you have to spend more than ten dollars at the bar in order to use any credit cards. The decor wasnt that great. Now all that would have been fine if they had a decent drinkBar service is horrible. They dont have enough glasses so you get little plastic cups if you are on outside deck.Inside bar is worst. They pick and choose who they wait on. I sat there 15 minutes before they even acknowledge me and still they waited on other people I end up waiting almost 30 minutes in an order for me to even order a drink will not ever ever go there again
Live Jazz every Monday, Dining until 10:00 pm, Patio Tables, Midtown location.Ambience and Location.
Never been there
I only give this place 4 stars because the wait staff leave a lot to be desired, otherwise I love the atmosphere here awesome piece of the jungle tucked in the city!
Great 25 and up crowd, drinks are enjoyable special events bring offers of free bar.b.que
Live music and DJ were both on point tonight! Drinks were good, food...okay (but usually better)....overall, excellent vibe!
Great brunch, soul food, everything was delicious
Best brunch and hangout spot. Staff is friendly, food and music on point. Patio has a nice chill vibe
Didnt expect a $10 cover but there was live music and it was fantastic. Drink prices were comparable with other spots in the area. Bar tenders were fast and the drink mix was on point. Table service not so good but Id rather get my own anyway. There was even enough room to get up and cut a little rug.
Great place! Good atmosphere! Good vibes!
I frequent their Brunch... Gets hype! Love it. Sometimes it gets hot in there but the food is good! Try going in the back! Most people dont know about the patio but its a great spot to chill. They could use healthier food options though.
I really had a awesome time music awesome live band was great owner came to our Table and invited us back.
Second time visiting. The owner is great, but waitress (Stephanie) and bartender were garbage. The atmosphere is cool, but the food was just ok.
Great, chill environment and enjoyed the music. However, the brunch buffet looked nothing like the photos. Most of everything was gone (no waffles, eggs, bacon) and everything that I had was disgusting. I told my waiter and was still charged for it. The mimosa were flat and tasted like orange juice. I then found out that they had ran out of champagne. And the waiter (guy with long dreds) had an attitude about everything. Very off putting, but my party remained positive and friendly. The moment of truth was when I received my bill and it was sky high, but I was leaving with my stomach and everything on E!
Jason, the owner, is a great host
The Sunday brunch and music was a wonderful experience and tasted great!
Great place to have an event. Great place to have food event. Great place to enjoy yourself for live music and have a great evening out on the town. Also you must check out the back area which is the patio textured. Multiple TVs multiple events great mix use as a sports bar.
Boring as heck! People sitting around like a funeral. DJ thumbs down. The setup was awful people cant dance & the lighting was too bright.
It was so tasty. The service here is attentive. The bill was fair I would say.
Love the ambiance...just need to work on the AC or find a way to circulate cool air. Fred Rusk rocked the house.
Good food, great music.
Nice atmosphere. Good crowd but not too big. My class reunion had a mixer there and it was a nice spot to do so.
The food is very well prepared. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I will be going back soon.
Monday nights, cafe 4212 is the best jazz show you can find. It is a jam session where the house band starts each night then a multitude of other trumpet, piano, drum, etc. players plus singers hop up and join in for a song or 2 or just a solo, whatever they want.
Once again, T.r. Reed sponsors another Monday night of consistent world class jazz in celebration of Arnett Cobbs 100 birthday:hosted by Stephen Richards combo, joined tonight by several wonderful guests, including, Arnetts guitarist for many years, Clayton Dyess; Al Jones on trombone, another of Arnetts bandmates; phenomenal tenor man Sal Crocker, currently based on the west coast and blessing us with an appearance; guitarist extraordinaire Mike Fageros, in town from Detroit; and Barry Simms, from Philly, smokin on keys.WOW!!!
I work there And i love my job
Nice space, good atmosphere
Nice place to hang out, the wait staff and the bartenders could use some customer service training
Incredible Jazz Monday nights!
Amazing experience on a Saturday night. It was jam back but the hostess (Im assuming that’s her role - young lady at the front) was extremely welcoming. there was one woman a little too intoxicated she made sure to grab an extra chair and bring it over for her so she can sit. I smiled at her after that because it was nice to see her take action, she then brought both me and my partner extra chairs so we can enjoy the live music as well. Extremely talented musicians. I love that it’s not overly done up, it’s very laid back and reminds me of cafes in nyc.
I showed up late... But the music was good.. I didnt try any food.. atmosphere was jazzy... Need a little work on the sound system.. sometimes its to loud to enjoy.. Ill definitely recommend this place
I wish there were more places like this around town. Looking forward to returning with my relatives. Prices are fair I would say. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.
I helped my friend celebrate her birthday and had such a good time. The food was good the staff curtious and the music awesome. Will go again.
Food music drinks atmosphere
Amazing. Good atmosphere and everyone was on point. Highly recommend. Go tonight!
Overpriced poor customer service slow!
One word: OUTSTANDING
Brunch was amazing. Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful people, and the music selection was on point. The soul food was delicious and perfectly seasoned, but heavy so come hungry and forget about your diets. $30 buffet with unlimited mamosas.
Nice music, great food and fun atmosphere!
Good DJ attentive waitresses and the building was hot no air
We purchased brunch tickets online for $25 each. Food was served out of crockpots. Ran out of food, tasteless and cold. Had minimal breakfast items. Waffles looked like they were out of a frozen box. Do not go here for brunch. I honestly wish we could get a refund. Horrible brunch experience.
Servers have very bad attitudes I wouldnt recommend going there. The energy is NEGATIVE except for DANA he is a very good host and server.
Nice crowd, but hot as hell with no seating!!
Grest place. The DJ on Fridsy night was the bomb com
Good food live music jazz night on Monday all you can eat on Sunday
Smoking hot jazz!
I was hungry and food that i ordered for $17 was very much not worth it. The mixed vegetables were worse than growing up they had no flavor at all. Very sad presentation too.
Nice place with good outside patio. Crawfish on Sunday is excellent.
Loved this place! Laid back, chilled type of crowd, with a live R&B jazz band, a DJ, full bar, and appetizers. The drinks were good....We tried the lemon pepper wings, & boudin balls which were delicious! The band & singers who performed were awesome, & the service was great! There are tables, chairs, and sofas throughout the club which allows plenty of seating, with room to dance. There is also seating at the bar. There was a birthday party on the night we went, and it was still seating available. The parking isnt bad, its free and we didnt have to walk far at all. This club also has an outdoor patio which is relaxing, quiet and romantic. I could go on and on, but to sum it up, 5 stars! My type of club!
Certainly a top place in the area. the staff was friendly and sociable.
Love the atmosphere just right with age group
Great food. The staff has made a major improvement. The environment alone is so soulful. I am definitely going back
