She was so thrilled when she walked down the aisle and realized that her selection was not a recorded version of her special song, but a beautiful string trio. Shelli and JD were so accommodating as we changed our original plans -- all because of COVID -- from April to September and then finally to August. They were so helpful as we navigated the change in dates and change in venues and change in songs. Our guests thought the live strings added so much to the intimate ceremony. I love Divisi Strings! As a professional opera singer who is also in the events industry, I have a high standard for live classical music and Divisi exceeded my expectations! My husband and I hired their string quartet for our pre-ceremony music and processional. They created a custom arrangement of a famous opera duet (two of our groomsmen are also professional opera singers) and let me tell you: MAGIC. The staff at Divisi Strings LLC are wonderful! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful; the harpist and DJ Jonathan made our day even more special. The harpist was so sweet and talented. Everyone loved the sound of the harp in the chapel; shes an extremely talented musician and I cant wait to get the wedding video so I can hear more of what she played before the ceremony started! Our DJ, Jonathan, absolutely killed it at our wedding reception! It wasnt just great - it was awesome!!! We received so many compliments on our great DJ. Jonathan has a great talent for reading the audience, song choice, and timing with everything. I feel like we didnt give him the easiest genres to work with and blend but he did that seamlessly. We are so thankful he was part of our wedding reception, as he allowed us to enjoy the night without worrying about the music. Any questions we had were answered quickly and professionally by the General Manager, which we greatly appreciated. I will highly recommend their team to anyone who has an event in the future! You wont be disappointed!!

My best friends wedding was scheduled for early May and unfortunately had to be canceled due to the shelter in place. I was supposed to officiate their wedding and they were devastated as their date was sentimental to them as a couple. Their wedding planner suggested a private roof top ceremony for the two of them at their home so they could still have their significant date and a celebration later on with their vendors. Divisi Strings was one of the first companies they hired and they were so excited to contract with them for their special day. Late on Friday night, I had the idea to see if a duo might be able to surprise them and play for the two of them during our Zoom ceremony with family watching from afar. I reached out to DS and had a response within 10 min late on a Friday night that they were thrilled with the idea and would get back to me over the weekend when they checked with their musicians. Not only did they bring the most perfect duo to surprise them, they brought them to tears. They couldnt find the strings for their special song and composed the music for them to be able to play on their day. Divisi Strings pulled off the most thoughtful surprise for them, and for me coming through with the song I didnt think was possible. Thank you so much for treating my friends with such care and making my their ceremony memorable for them (and for me back home in Chicago)! We hired the DIVISI Strings Ampd String Quartet for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and the music was absolutely gorgeous. The reception crowd loved the DIVISI Strings DJ as he kept the guests dancing and kept things moving along. My sister and I both used Divisi Strings for our wedding ceremonies, and they were stellar. I hired a violin/cello/harp trio. The Divisi staff was professional and walked through my detailed vision with great expertise and patience across several phone calls, and they provided some excellent recommendations to help me fill in a blank or two. Even though we didn’t have a traditional wedding, they were receptive to our vision. I spoke with several vendors before choosing Divisi, and with other vendors, I dealt with unresponsiveness, impatience, and statements like, “that’s not how things are done,” or “if you don’t trust me to do that for you, find someone else.” Trust me, Brides, you can get the same Houston musicians through several local agents, and Divisi is the most professional one.The Divisi musicians were punctual, and played beautifully, adding an irreplaceable elegance to our wedding.

Dj Gonz was amazing at my wedding, couldn’t have asked for more.My beef is with the string players because I gave them instructions to play in the courtyard so I could hear them while taking photos after my ceremony. They instead played inside despite being told by their boss that it was going to be outdoors.My wedding party was running a little late and they began playing before the ceremony ended.Due to the two reasons I have listed above I am very disappointed and the fact that I paid that I paid an extra thousand dollars for something that I did not get to enjoy.I brought my concerns up with the company after my wedding and they promised to reach back out to me and I haven’t heard from them since.

Strings during the ceremony were high priority for us, and Divisi was an extremely professional group of full time musicians that we were so happy we went with. They were able to accommodate our request of a flute along with strings, and Tony met with us in person to discuss music selection options best for that set up from a very large repertoire. They even had a great pianist who performed upbeat music on the venue’s piano during our cocktail hour. They wore tuxedos and black dresses. We never had to worry about them being in the right place at the right time, and I would recommend to anyone.

Professionals! Flawless performers. I was seeking an ensemble to gift to a friends small wedding, but was out of luck for several weeks. Then got a contact for Divisi, and Tony worked some magic and helped me secure a duo to play four days later! Booked and confirmed in under a half hour. I am so grateful. Bonus points for hiking with the instruments for 10 minutes down a mulched path in the Arboretum.

We were so excited to have the Divisi Strings Ampd Quartet play for our daughters wedding. The ceremony was outdoors under some old oak tress with the sun setting in the background. The beautiful music from the quartet only added to the magic. I am just sorry (as mother of the bride) that I didnt get to hear their entire set. The romantic aire that the strings added was fabulous. The fact that they can play songs other than the usually expected classical is such an unexpected treat! The quartet was such a fantastic touch. Im trying to come up with more excuses to have them play for us again!! They are the BEST!!!

Shelli performed the music for the weddings of my daughters in 2003 and 2007. It was elegant, romantic and beautiful. Shelli and her friends were so professional even then. I knew these young musicians were special. Id like to think I was witnessing the birth of Divisi. My family and I often reminisce about the music at both weddings. If you can attend an event featuring Divisi, do so, you owe it to yourself.

Having this photo booth was a great ideal. Pictures come out instantly. Great way to make memories. This photo booth is what set my party apart!

DIVISI played at our wedding, and we absolutely loved them. They played all the way through from ceremony to reception; we didn’t feel the need for a DJ! Our guests enjoyed singing along to covers of pop songs (Bohemian Rhapsody was a big hit), and the pieces we chose for the processional were so lovely, they still make us tear up when we hear them (Sigur Ros). I sent two info requests via their website as well as emailing them directly and never heard back. For the record I did reach out a few months prior to our event but I would have at least expected an unavailable response. Disappointed as they were one of the more highly rated ensembles in Houston.*UPDATE* They emailed me back 6 days after my initial inquest and explained that due to high volume and personal events theyve been unavailable to respond. I appreciate the reply and have updated my review accordingly.

I can not express enough how much my guest enjoyed Divisi Strings Photo Booth. The attendant was super energetic and provided numerous props for my guest to choose from. The booth was a big hit! Can I give them ten stars please?!?!

We heard about Divisi through our wedding venue when they had their open house. We werent sure we were going to use a string quartet since our venue was equipped with an outdoor sound system, but theres nothing like the sight and sound of live music. Also, Tony S. was extremely helpful in walking us through the ceremony script to make sure his team would manage any real-time changes. Through starky temperatures, the quartet was dressed to impress and serenaded our guests before and during our ceremony and our also our cocktail hour. They were a perfect touch setting the tone before our main reception. We opted for the AMPD package incorporating classical to the latest hits. They were absolutely fabulous! Book them early - they get busy!

Hired DIVISI Strings for my wedding in November 2018. First off - as a vendor - they were excellent with communications leading up to our big day. It was a bit nerve wrecking hiring a vendor that I’d never met face to face, but their prompt and timely communications (via email and phone) reassured me that everything down to the last detail would be taken care of. Secondly - DIVISI Strings was willing to learn “Trap Queen” on the Strings for me! I had a vision of my bridesmaids walking down the aisle to this song and they made it happen! They also did the same for the intro to “Margaritaville”! Thirdly - their music is second to none! My husband and I have heard SO many positive things about the music DIVISI played during our ceremony and happy hour. We loved DIVISI Strings as our ceremony music vendor and would absolutely hire them for future events and/or recommend to a friend!

Divisi Strings provided a tenor and a keyboard player for a milestone birthday celebration. The experience was amazing. Everyone was in tears when the tenor began singing Andrea Bocelli songs, which I had requested as a surprise for my moms birthday celebration.

I absolutely love Divisi Strings! Detail oriented, professional and they play beautifully. I highly recommend them for any event!
