If you are looking for awesome mid-century design, art and glam, this is your place. Have never found anything better than this in Houston. Not the cheapest, but lots of great stuff. Worth taking a look!

Carefully curated pieces by an owner who has made his business his passion. Store has turned into an excellent catalog of mid century modern and fine art. Owner has a vast knowledge base and happy to share history of pieces.

This place is a hidden gem!The staff feels like family with an endless supply of hospitality and warmth. The furniture is whimsical and unique, and the paintings are every art collector’s dream. I have never been in a place like this, I easily spent hours here taking it all in. 10/10 would recommend

It is a nice “one-of-a-kind” sort of place. Although you’re told prices are negotiable, You realize that if they are asking $1,000 + as an average price we aren’t going to ask if they would consider $100. That just saves both the embarrassment.

Beautiful furniture, beautiful people. Went in looking for a piece of furniture and let me tell you they have some gorgeous stuff, heavy on the mid-century modern. No prices on the furniture but Mr. Reeves walked with me to help and also gave me some furniture and wood work information. He is so very kind! The store also has a lot of art, cute dogs and smiling faces. Worth a stop!

Mathew is Great! Very knowledgeable. The store has the best selection. If you are buying or selling, this is the only place to go in Houston or the surrounding area.

Loved this place when I could find good deals. This is no longer a possibility as shop is now carefully curated and you can expect beautiful, museum quality items, but at First Dibs prices. For example a Barcelona style chair was $1000. Sorry that I am now priced out of the this store Ive been loyal to for years.

This store is the designers best friend. The Reeves will stop at no cost to bring you fresh looks and designer furniture from the Mid Century and the Modern eras. This gem of Houston is Nestled at the edge of Montrose and has always had a great deal waiting for me. Also the store has dogs in it. Really cute ones.

I was followed around the whole time and apparently not allowed to sit on the furniture? I had no bag just my wallet and was with a friend. Awful experience.

One amazing store. The high price tags are the only reason I did not give 5 stars. If you are looking for a vintage piece of furniture and are willing to pay the higher price tag for a quality item, this should be your first stop. What makes Reeves different than most other antique stores I have found, is that they are not just filled with junk that can be considered an antique. Each piece is in great condition, this probably includes already having been reupholstered or repainted, so they are take-home and ready-to-use. I guess if you are looking for your own project piece, then this would not be your first stop. Otherwise, prepare yourself to make a difficult decision of which great piece to call yours!

Matt and company have a treasure trove of Mid-Century Modern furnishings at below after-market prices. Pieces are restored to near-original and upholstery services are available as well. If you are looking to upgrade your living space with timeless and classic pieces, you have come to the right place!

You should really know who you are talking to when you pull, “I am the expert at this, and I do it for a living, therefore you should just trust me.” SERIOUSLY. Just because the “internet” says “so and so” is the designer of a piece doesn’t make it so. When you say “it will be on the invoice, and that is your proof, or “it’s in books,” and you talking to someone who actually knows that you are wrong and has documentation to prove it, you prove that you don’t know what you are talking about. You give people who are actually genuinely care about what they are doing a bad name. Cute dogs though.

This place has the best mid-century collection of furniture and art in town, and boy do they know it. Everything is expensive. Not for bargain shoppers. The shops on and around 19th in the Heights are a better bet. Theres also a giant warehouse full of mid-century stuff out in Pasadena called Metro Retro.

Very fancy place with lots of mid-century modern furniture. Upscale and hipster so dont expect an amazing bargain, but youll find some beautiful items here. This place would be more logically located in Montrose based on its merchandise.

Lovely place to browse. Gorgeous mid century furniture.I just dont like that the furniture does not nave pricing. The tags have a series of letters so you have to ask the dealer to quote you the price. I dont like to ask when I dont intend to purchase.Oh well. The customer service is wonderful and all associates are well educated in this realm of selling.

I also agree that the merchandise is on the high end, but they do have incredible taste and always have an impressive inventory. This is the sort of place I will occasionally visit just to admire whats in stock, even if I have no intention of making a purchase. They specialize in mid-century modern and theyre very knowledgeable about each and every piece. I think they find most of their pieces at auctions and estate sales.Ive purchased two pieces of art from them as well as my sofa. The sofa had been reupholstered beautifully and the cushions filled with a thin layer of down which makes it ideal for an afternoon nap on a rainy weekend. The owner also gave me the remaining fabric from the bolt in case I need to have a pillow or cushion redone somewhere down the line.I gave it four stars because I felt a little slighted when I asked what company they used to reupholster their pieces. I wish I knew because whoever it is does a fabulous job. Well, they wouldnt tell me. I found that a little insulting. I mean, Im sure there are many customers who have spent far more money at Reeves than myself, but I still consider myself a loyal customer -- it seems like itd be a common courtesy to share that with a customer; especially one who bought an upholstered piece from them. I inherited two chairs from my grandparents that Id like to have reupholstered - I dont think that 2 chairs would distract them from working on his items for too long. Plus, I can only afford to have one done at a time on my budget. That has been my only pet peeve with them.Although most other antique stores have considerably lower prices, Reeves high prices almost justify themselves when you take into account the immaculate condition most of pieces are in.Their store is definitely worthy of a visit! And its worth mentioning that they have a smaller store near the Westheimer & Dunlavy intersection with similar items.
