I first saw Edgars work years ago at local event he was showing and was immediately in love with his style and way he uses such dynamic colors and textures. Every time I would drive by his gallery in Montrose I was always amazed by his new work.One day I decided to wonder in, and at this time I knew I couldnt secure a large piece yet but was excited to see there was small prints he had done that allowed me to start small at least with a piece of Edgar Medina.Just recently I am exited to share that commissioned my own 48x48 piece from his Translucent Series. Not only has it elevated my home decor with the vibrant emotions, but most importantly it makes me smile every day I see it.If you havent had the opportunity to see Edgars work in person, you must treat yourself to truly see how amazing he his.

Edgar is an amazing person and artist. His art studio is full of treasures and his wonderful paintings. We have two of Edgars paintings in our home and they bring us joy each and every day.

Edgar is a kind, fun and generous man. Those qualities and more, are visible in the paintings of this talented artist. The first time I saw Edgar’s paintings, there was one in particular that “spoke” to me. I asked my husband to come to the gallery and see if he could guess which one it was... he did a 360 and pointed to “my” painting!!! That day, we purchased our first piece of art as a married couple. I have been following Edgar’s work for many years! I bought several pieces in 2010-2011 and have been buying since then. He is an amazing artist who continues to create pieces that are so diverse in meaning, color, and texture, so I can’t resist adding to my personal “art gallery.” Edgar also does commission pieces, which he has done for me on two occasions - they are absolutely perfect! If you haven’t seen his work, you must stop by his studio or go to one of his many events. Hopefully you get to meet him when you do because he is an amazing person who is a joy to talk to and gives back to the community in so many ways!

He listened to what my likes were and tailored my piece specifically for me with personal touches.Edgar isnt just cranking out art. Vibrant colors, movement and textures with so much meaning behind every piece is why I became a collector of Contemporary Artist Edgar Medina’s work over 7 years ago. Edgar’s paintings make a statement in a room wherever they are hanging. A favorite and conversational piece in my home is called “Freedom”. It is a colorful and motivational painting with phrases written in Spanish and English, “Tolerancia”, “Freedom”, “Libertad, “World Peace” throughout the painting.Edgar’s passion for life and the arts are what keeps his work always being an amazing discovery of what is next in the Edgar Medina Studio.

When I first moved to Montrose in 2011 I would drive by Edgars Studio and see these incredibly vibrant and alive pieces of art displayed outside the front door. Finally, I visited the store and over the years have bought a number of items. As I continued to see Edgars work grow and mature, I began telling people about this guy over on Fairview and how incredibly talented he was.Finally it came time for me to commission my first piece and I knew exactly who to visit - Edgar. Having never commissioned a piece, I was a bit clueless, but Edgar walked me through the whole thing with the grace and passion that is just as much a hallmark of him as his art. I have never been more pleased with the piece he created and the story behind it.Aside from his personality and art, Edgar is truly a gentleman in his core nature of being human, which is evidenced by his constant generosity to so many worthwhile causes in his local community and well beyond. All of these factors are the reason that his work will continue to increase in both intrinsic and extrinsic value for all.
